I think the hazy IPAs that exist outside of Manitoba are far superior to anything we do inside this province and that *may* be part of the reason that Manitobans have a weird impression of them. Even Kilter (who I love) does a bad job of them these days. Inside Canada, the true champions of hazy IPAs are in Quebec (Messorem, Le Ketch, Bad Bones, Nano Cinco, Brewskey) or Ontario (Badlands, All My Friends) and I guess Alberta has a few top guns as well (Irrational, Polyrhythm, Establishment) but I would say overall, only Messorem/Ketch/Bad Bones can hang with the folks down south brb gonna go pour myself a beer

I genuinely believe Dru Brown may be the best QB in this league but I think outside of his receivers, his supporting cast lets him down frequently

This is a good way to summarize how I feel. We stayed with status quo and let the rest of the league catch up.

I’m going to reply to this again just to expand on my comment a bit more. Until we actually start using the roster rules that are available to us, I don’t think anyone in their right mind can suggest “putting the best football team on the field” is the main priority. There’s clearly another agenda there and that, largely more than the individual roster choices, is what makes me frustrated as a fan.

I’m going to reserve the right to wait until our actual week 2 roster is sorted but I’m not thrilled about Kyrie or Parker making the team. Sheahan is another one. I will say I like the PR choices we made, but I’m hopeful some of them are actually on the roster for season kickoff - mostly Person or Allen.

You aren’t going to get what I’d call a fair shake here, they’re looking for something beyond or in addition to “can you play football at a high level” and I don’t really know if we can say what it is at this point.

There’s definitely some shuffling to be done, injured lists will come out at some point … gotta imagine one of, if not both, of Person/Bailey are on the roster week 2.

I would genuinely love for someone in the media to ask why we spend all offseason recruiting American players to have one rookie crack our active roster. I know that’s an oversimplification but man … it’s gotta be frustrating for the front office. Backup DB/returner is all you see from all your efforts during the offseason? Sure, things will change as the season goes on but woof.

There’s no way Cooley makes the active roster. He’s Pigrome V2. I think he’s a great player but the preseason hype is out of control and we’re trying to play fantasy football to justify his value. “I’ll just put him in the flex” … there’s no logistically sound way to fit him on our active roster unless we end up with an injury to Brady.

I really like the DL talent we brought in - could see Jamal Woods sent packing, wouldn’t even necessarily be surprised to see Vaughters sent packing. Hope we can keep Webb and Person, although I’m not optimistic. LB is gonna be a tough topic of debate here unless we make the right decision and cut Kyrie Wilson. DB I don’t know what way they’ll go but we can’t really go wrong. Jamal Parker could be a cut here. So could Bridges.

I really don’t get any of the Myron Mitchell hype. I would be incredibly unaffected if he were to be cut tomorrow.
