  1. I don’t think ANYONE *should* take a pay cut, why would they?
  2. I think it’s pretty fair to say our receivers are middle of the pack now Ottawa, Montreal, Hamilton clearly better BC probably right around the same, Saskatchewan (barf) could easily be better Better than Edmonton, Calgary or Toronto I’d say
  3. I do agree that the receiver position seems very fluid. Almost more about opportunity than anything. Curious to see who the next batch of guys is that enters the league this season, hoping one of them is a Bomber
  4. Dunk said on the 3DN podcast that the general consensus around the league is that the fairest way to do this is just to give every single player across the league a raise and truthfully, I agree.
  5. Sure, but let’s be realistic. Lawler doesn’t have to talk to us and I’d be surprised if he does. We can “match” all we want, he doesn’t have to do anything
  6. This is just silly box score scouting. 275k doesn’t mean you should put up 1000 yards, 275k means you should be an impact player when you’re on the field and he is. You don’t win games in the stat sheet, you win them on the field and Lawler is a player that helps you win on the field.
  7. I doubt this changes anything … if it did, I’m sure Dunk/Naylor/Farhan would’ve had some kind of comment from “sources” (front offices, agents) by now I’m still skeptical teams didn’t know until today. Seems incredibly difficult to believe, how could guys like Schoen or McManis not get super frustrated about that if it were the case?
  8. I don’t get this logic at all. Like … it doesn’t even make a bit of sense. Even if you don’t think Dobson is a world beater (and I don’t either, I think he’s fairly average) he was still Canadian and better than anything we currently have on our roster and better than anything currently out there available to bring in. There’s no possible way to suggest our OL is currently better than it was two days ago. At all. You can think it will be better in time, you can think it will be better if we run an American out at guard instead and that’s all fair to suggest but it would’ve been just as fair if we had Dobson. And we don’t. That’s a loss as it stands today.
  9. Yeah, that Friesen tweet is ridiculous on so many levels. The optics of announcing it now for the CFL are truly bad though
  10. Cap went up 400k, I would like to know when teams were made aware of this
  11. Crazy how that comes up now, but you didn’t mention it at all in all of the discussions we’ve all been having (that you’ve been very active in) about OC options
  12. Yeah that is a wild number to pay.
  13. I had a weird feeling we’d get this guy … RWJ is alright … weird trajectory … think I would’ve rather had Hollins, but at the same time this also feels like it could be a Darvin Adams type move for us pretty excited about that Vaval signing, I think he’s gonna be a good one
  14. Yeah I definitely would’ve preferred that
  15. Bombers sign Josh Hagerty, seems like a decent ST add
  16. Agreed he wasn’t an all-star by traditional means but … I still don’t understand how anyone could even suggest our OL is “better”
  17. How is the OL “the same if not better” when we have literally only subtracted one player (a Canadian and a division all-star) and added zero players.
  18. I hope he turns out to be amazing, this is just not the kind of question mark I wanted this year.
  19. Lol agreed then Goalie just yelling at everyone and Iso yelling at a cloud
  20. I don’t care about JT anywhere near as much as Booch but can we at least be honest and just admit you’re in favour of everything our team does no matter what? Because that’s the stance you’ve taken all year.
  21. I was going to mention that, especially because there’s one guy in particular in here who loves our hire but **** all over Mueller.
  22. Like I said … that’s not the structure I would want. Do you typically let the more qualified people take a background role unless it’s a situation where they’ve got one foot in the grave already or something?
  23. Because this is a Grey Cup season and I don’t want somebody learning on the fly while his much-more-qualified assistant waits in the wings. Not the kind of structure I want, this doesn’t feel like the Younger promotion at all.
  24. because you’re giving the keys to the offense to a guy who has only ever had the keys to a high school offense and one of his assistants was the key figure in a major offensive turnaround just last season … I can’t imagine that goes well
