  1. 3DN is super credible as far as reporting news. Dunk and Hodge are both very well connected throughout the league, just look at how many signings they leaked prior to official announcements. They don’t miss on that front at all and it’s unfair to say they do. The problem with them is the exact opposite of what you’re suggesting it is. When they get into actual analysis, it’s worse than your typical tan forum commentary. Hodge, JC Abbott, that guy who was on Big Brother from Calgary … they’re all lost when it actually comes to discussing football. if they just stick to the news they’d be fine and that’s coming from someone who really doesn’t like any of them on any level. They all suck. But they’re definitely well connected within the league - although I’ll definitely suggest it’s because SOMEBODY has to be and they do it by default for all the team executives and player agents
  2. That’s THE story that GCn20 is using to refer to Chad Kelly as a sexual predator. He got charged with trespassing (the house was unlocked) and wandered drunkenly into someone’s home, was comfortable enough to sit next to them on the couch and start mumbling to them while dressed as Woody from Toy Story (aka he was probably so smashed he thought he was at the right house and thought he was talking to someone he knew) and then got confrontational with the husband when he chased him off with either a bat or a pipe, I forget (because he’s a moron and he probably couldn’t understand why anyone had a problem with the mixup) Idiot? Absolutely. Sexual predator? Based off that story? Reach.
  3. Except that’s not really what happened. Let’s just take the names and legal terms out of the story. ”Man wearing Toy Story costume drunkenly wanders into unlocked home, sits down on couch, mumbles at woman nursing her young child, gets confronted by father and is chased off the property” What part of that screams sex pest to you? Not to mention the part where they sued him and none of what they were asking for was due to any psychological trauma of any kind. Even the victims of this crime aren’t accusing him of what you are. Is he a complete idiot? Hell yeah. Was this a sexual crime in any way whatsoever? Absolutely not.
  4. Mostly just that everyone is already proclaiming this guy is guilty because he’s got a reputation and if it were a Bomber, there would be cries of “let the process play out” I wonder if anyone ever stopped to wonder if the reason this became public is because he has this reputation and the woman knew this would be effective. Disclaimer: if he’s guilty of the claims, he’s a total piece of crap I just see the double standard here for what it is and someone’s right to due process shouldn't depend on what team colours they wear
  5. I wonder how we’d be reacting to this news if it were about Dalton Schoen
  6. I do remember that article now that you mention it. I stand corrected!
  7. Really depends on what you need, if you wanna talk scouting. Bombers and Argos scouting staff both seem to have an incredible handle on finding defensive backs and offensive linemen. Argos seem to find guys to play all over in the box, Bombers have had great success finding interior linemen. Rigmaiden finds more receivers than anyone league-wide (could be wrong but I think I remember being told Schoen was his add to the neg list too) and it seems like the Bombers have figured out a pretty good recipe for finding the CFL style quarterbacks.
  8. Because all they are really good at doing is producing the top end talent. There are some outliers of course, but if you go back and look, most of their talent in the NFL are early draft picks. They don’t really develop the guys who don’t come to them as 4 or 5-star recruits which means I don’t get too excited when I see an Alabama guy come up here.
  9. I don’t think we have any sex pests like Chad Kelly or any overall assholes, but one of our best players definitely doesn’t make good life choices all the time. Not that it’s an issue, I’m just saying it’s not unique to other teams
  10. Didn’t we employ a guy who tried to drown his wife in a bathtub? Isn’t one of our star players a guy who makes sure he isn’t super thirsty before he drives a car?
  11. I don’t need to ask him, I know why As an aside, I’m happy I have my autographed Streveler jersey to bust out now that Bailey is gone. But I usually roll with the Khari Jones jersey I found on Marketplace for $30 last year
  12. Hi Adam, can you please unblock me on Twitter
  13. A fair deal and another example of why Schoen/Lawler are likely to cost less next year
  14. I’d take a boring downtown over the meth zombie wasteland we have now.
  15. Manitoba? Sure. The best part about Winnipeg in the summer is how close it is to other places. I genuinely can’t think of anything I can do in Winnipeg in the summer that isn’t a Bomber game. Go to the Forks for the annual Canada Day machete attack? Ride my bike around, weaving through all the homeless encampments? I love summers in Winnipeg but it’s not because of Winnipeg. It’s because in two hours or so, I can be at my cabin that isn’t in Winnipeg.
  16. Are we really arguing that Winnipeg isn’t a dump? I’ve travelled all over North America … I think in terms of individual cities, I’ve been to Phoenix, San Diego, Anaheim, Richmond, Philadelphia, Trenton, Baltimore, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Buffalo, New York City, Orlando, Tampa, Regina, Minneapolis, Grand Forks and Fargo in the past 5-ish years … the only places that are as much of a dump as Winnipeg are Baltimore and Edmonton. Sure, obviously some places were a quick visit. Some places you can chalk the experience up to oblivious innocence where I probably didn’t know any better. But for the most part, there’s a ton more to do/see without half the hassle in these places. Even Buffalo, which I was expecting to be a total dump … their downtown is quiet with not a lot to do (like ours) but I didn’t get hassled by a homeless person once. There’s stuff to do. Probably the most comparable downtown to Winnipeg, honestly … just cleaner and less disruptive. I get the experiences won’t match because obviously the sample size is a lot larger in the city I reside in, but this place is a dump. Manitoba? Beautiful. Winnipeg? It’s a dump. It’s my dump, but it’s a dump.
  17. Lawler will be on the wrong side of 30 and coming off a deal that was signed in a time prior to teams becoming more accepting of the belief that paying receivers that much money doesn’t make you succeed. Doesn’t matter how well he plays this year. He hit the max he’s ever gonna make
