we have effectively due to injury on defense anyway did a sneaky in-season transition.....and to be honest was only way we were gonna do it based on or coaching track record
We have totally now integrated Griffin...Bonds...Cole....Ayers and Jones as solid pieces going into camp next yr....Woods...Adams and even tho we havn't seen much of him Fox are 3 guys we can totally build around and if we get a legit DE to compliment WJ and allow him to be rotated to be effective and play more pure get after the QB work....and a solid 3rd guy in one of Garbutt/Person.....As I think Haba has kinda taken a step back/and or isn't still 100 percent we will be looking good going into 2025....youth....and experience now
Lawson taking Thomas right out of the equation would be the ideal Nat guy to rotate in....and Like to see us just start Ford as the only National, so we can sub/roate in guys at will.
No O'Shea understands talent. Kramdi will be starting at SLB for years to come. Great seeing Canadian talent succeed.

So what? They don't NEED it. But they forced it and kept more impactful imports on the sidelines to fit it.
Of course they need it. They could've done the tired old, we must play a Canadian at Safety, instead they went with one at CB and SLB.
What import has been more impactful than Ford.
Kramdi has been a top 3 SLB in the league this year. He's third in the league for tackles for loss. He's second in sacks for his position. Teams tend to throw away from his zone.

I'd sign Tre Ford even if he was Cauchey Muamba 2.0 if that meant his brother reupped with us.
That said, Tre would be a nice QB of the future/guy to pair with Zach.
I doubt Tre is going to sign with Winnipeg to eventually start in his 30s.

They became too married to the idea of a Canadian on the DL. It wasn't a necessity and they haven't got the heart to wind Thomas down.
You have the depth with Thomas, Lawson and Schmekel. Plus Hubert to rotate at DE.
You also have quality Canadians at SLB send SCB.

That's wpgs title. I'm doubtful anyone comes close to WPG this season.
Betts doesn't play in the playoffs.
Depending on the draft yr. I'd argue yes the picks are worth more. But that's really getting into the nit picky area of things. Their pushing for a home GC appearance so I get the all out mentality.
Their were games where BC was starting 10 and 11 Canadians.

Or possibly two draft picks.
They'll gain a draft pick for playing the most Canadians.

Meh testing numbers. I don’t really get this move. We’ve got both halletts, Kelly, plus karamoko all for depth. Even weitz is comparable size/athleticism roster filler.
If we liked this kid a lot why not have had him in camp? It's probably more to do with him playing the SLB position in college. Depth is a good thing.

By far the best DL rotation we’ve rolled out all season. I really think Gauthier is a weak link out there in the line backing core. The defense looks almost perfect otherwise.
Gautier is underrated. Their is a reason O'Shea didn't bring in some yank off the street to start.

To me, the definition of a True Canadian in the CFL is someone born in Canada and only played 3 Down football their entire life.
I'm not saying I don't like other types of quasi Canadians. Lord knows I'm a huge Woogie fan. But he's not a real Canadian... And that's fine.
I believe people hyping up Rourke as this "OMG A CANADIAN PLAYING QB IN THE CFL?!?!" are doing a great disservice to people like Tre Ford, who only ever played up north. Rourke isn't such a unicorn... Based on his training, he's no different from any other rando American QB that comes up here...
That's a terrible definition. I understand not classifying Dublanko, Curtis, Singleton as Canadians.

Rourke is kind of robotic though. He’s going to have to come up with a 2.0 version of his game because if you move him off the first read mostly by not giving him a true read pre-snap he’s done.
Not really robotic. 2022 Rourke had no problem finding his third and fourth reads.

1. Cornerbacks: Bonds and Ford are probably the best duo in the league right now.
2. Linebackers: Have to give praise to these guys. Even with Bighill out, Gauthier played well.
3. Dline: With secondary playing so well, the Dline took advantage of those coverage sacks.

Happens with young ol and ol changes.
In theory we could get him this year, not real likely though. If he gets dinged up in camp down south though the chances of him being here in camp next year is extremely high.
The nfl churns through ol prospects fast too. Guys don’t get a lot of repeated looks or time to develop if they don’t show out early.I doubt Detroit will give up on him this fast. He hasn't even played a game yet.

Legit question - have you ever actually watched Gabe Wallace play a game of football or did you just see he’s Canadian and determine that he’s amazing?
I watched him play as both a Bull and a Bomber. He's very underrated by Bombers fans. His nastiness is needed in the run game.
I'm a real football fan, not an occasional one like some fans here.

Time for Clercius to step up....carve a spot and show he belongs....and get more reps....this is a good thing
I would use this Neuf 6 game too and audition Wallace..Eli and Dobson in varying deployments too and see who should be playing
It depends if Zack can get him the ball.

PFF on the argos offensive line last week.
• Left tackle Isiah Cage had a stellar week against the Blue Bombers last week. His 84.4 run-blocking grade was the fourth-highest single-week mark of any offensive lineman in the CFL this season.
• The usually uber-reliable Dejon Allen had by far his worst pass-blocking game of the season. Coming into the week, he had not earned a pass-blocking game grade below 77.0. He finished with a 28.4 mark in Week 8.
• The left side of the offensive line played solidly in pass protection. Cage (75.5), Hunter (70.3) and Nicastro (78.2) earned 70.0-plus pass-blocking grades on 29 snaps.
If i'm reading this correctly Hubert/Garbutt dominated their guy who underperformed his typical level whereas Thomas and Jefferson were dominated.
Its somewhat not surprising that Jefferson and Garbutt switched ends on the depth chart. I'm hoping that the easier assignments will have squeeze a little bit more juice out of Jefferson.----------------------------
I think PFF does a very reasonable job. Its impossible for anyone outside their own team to grade 100% accurately because other teams or PFF ect need to predict what a player's assignment was.
Not really how it works. I believe Hubert and Garbutt lined up as the strong side defensive end. That means they would've gone up against both tackles.

Two Cdns get hurt and we replace them with Americans because we were starting a million Cdns previously. Has Osh changed?
Just need Eli to start over Kolo and we may have a serviceable o-line.
I don't know if they can now. Doesn't Naturalized American have to be shown on the depth chart. You must start 8 Canadians, in which the 8th could be a Naturalized American, but he's not declared on the depth like other teams.

It could only help Wallace in his growth and give Neufeld some rest so "if" by some chance we make the play offs he will be more healthy to play.
I would sit Neufeld in the playoffs, for the younger Wallace.

We could actually start five American OL without changing the ratio.
Demski, Woli, Oliveira, Clercius, Ford, Kramdi, and Thomas would still be our starting 7 Canadians and Stanley Bryant, Willie Jefferson, Bighill, or BA could all count as the 8th (nationalized American).
Not that we even have 5 American OL in house... Just saying it's possible.
No need to start 5 American Olinemen. Wallace and Eli should be given chances first. Wallace is the future at RG and should replace Neufeld this season.
1 hour ago, Booch said:we could go Bryant...Eli at center...some stud import guard...the best of Wallace/Dobson at other....Keep Lofton and if we start Woli/Demski/BO as well then we only need Ford as a "starter", and a guy on every down rotating at either SAM...or on Dline...Heck even give Kramdi some safety reps...or morph him into a safety....easily doable
We dont have to be running out sets with 2 National dlineman...and Kramdi...and Ford.....and sometimes 3 national Dlineman....That whole way we been doing things is pointless....dumb....and sacrifices talent and an aggressive defense for......man I dont even know what for other than an Osh preference
Kramdi is fine at SAM. He proved you wrong last game.

2 sacks and a tackle for loss for Kramdi.
