  1. Great teams have that. Could the Bombers win a game like that? I have my doubts.
  2. Oh, Adams can start for sure on other teams but I don't think he's a Derrell Walker type guy or a Kamar Jordan type player. He'd fit right with the Stamps & the Esks no question. I think it's too much to expect him to be our go to guy downfield which is what he is now when we throw deep. Our problem is the receiving depth behind Adams at the #2 & #3 positions. Thompkins may turn out to be very good but as is the Bombers way, it'll take us to November to find out.
  3. The scary part is just how much worse our D would be without Bighill.
  4. Adams may start but on some teams he wouldn't be the #1 receiver. He's a solid #2 but in our offense he's #1. With Thompkins, you have to wonder why wouldn't LaPo have designs around him? Head scratcher. As far as Wolitarsky goes, he's starting to get involved in the offense a bit more. Almost like LaPo has had an ephinany… "Hey that guy can actually catch". I do disagree when you say WR talent is far down the list of problems on this team. It's a problem. If it isn't then LaPo isn't putting them in a position to be successful.
  5. The only thing I'll say about Bob is that after hanging around the team's practices, talking to head coaches from Bud Riley to Mike O'Shea, interviewing players, assistant coaches, sitting in on player meetings watching film & now video broken down by the coaches for 45 years he has to have learned more than a few things about the game.
  6. Stamps look lackadaisical today not playing in fifth gear. Their RB Don jackson just gave up a fumble & the Esks scored to tie it. We know though what they are capable of it they ramp it up. That knee injury to Walker may he serious. If he's out that'll be a huge blow to the Esks passing game.
  7. I know expectations were high coming into this season but in the back of my mind with Ritchie Hall as DC & a chronically weak receiving corps I can't say I'm surprised. We can't float thru games like the Stamps do getting by on just talent. We have to work hard & everything must go our way in all 3 phases of the game for us to win. I was always afraid that the season would go this way even though I hoped it wouldn't. I wonder if I was the only fan feeling that way?
  8. All about performance. Too bad coaches aren't judged so harshly & their windows closed as quickly.
  9. They used to start the East Game at 1 pm EDT & the West Game at 3PM MDT. Second year now TSN has done this.
  10. I'd like to see Streveler as well. No harm to put him in to see what happens but we have a head coach who won't change his ways like no other.
  11. Maybe in Manitoba but here in AB school starts tomorrow. I wonder if it's the same this year in Hamilton as I read last year that there were a lot of complaints (this being one of them) that school started the next day.
  12. You're beginning to sound like you do on the Jets Forum. A one subject, blame one guy pony. Paul Maurice sucks & you take swings at everyone who dares disagree with you.
  13. Pretty sure I know what forum this is.
  14. Playing an evening game on Labour Day when kids have to be in school tomorrow is insane. TSN doesn't give two hoots about the fans. There's 5 hours between games today. is there an MLS game in between?
  15. I hope you say that in a generalist form as I was not advocating firing anyone every time we lost. The question I have for you is, if Streveler goes in & sucks, who would you replace him with? Nichols is already benched. Brian Bennett would be the next punching bag up to play qb. Then if he fails, who then? Make a trade for an unproven backup & give up assets & a first rounder in the process? How stupid would that be? It's not just Nichols. It's the offensive philosophy of spreading the field with short to medium range passes. This offense is all about a ball controlling passing game & patience. Putting up first downs & taking time off the clock. It's about the receivers getting YAC yards after the catch to get first downs as we always throw short. Do I like the schemes & philosophy? No, not a bit. Do we have the receivers to play in this offense? Nope. They can't break tackles because they aren't physical enough. Is the play calling suspect? Very much so. Are we a vertical big play team? Nope. After a couple of games where Nichols missed open receivers earlier this season we've just given up trying. We are no threat to go deep. Combine that with Nichols bad play & we are struggling offensively. Bottom line. So, as I said, it's not just Nichols. It's on everyone who plays & coaches offense. When this offense is clicking on all cylinders then it is fun to watch. When it isn't, it is absolutely brutal & not fun to watch at all. To me, a feast & famine offense.
  16. I think we already know how bad they are, unfortunately. Simonise never showed he was ready to play but Petermann sure did & sitting on the bench is how O'Shea rewards him. Our HC has to go.
  17. Okay a little but our Int'l receivers are still bad. They stink. These guys are the weakest in the CFL & have been for 5 seasons.
  18. I think Mitch Zalnasky was his first analyst & then Ken Ploen.
  19. IF he catches the ball. With our receivers it's not a given.
  20. Most coaches that are fired seem to be going into their last year on their contracts. That being said, how do you as Wade Miller sell the idea of a new contract to the fans for Mike O'Shea? I think it's impossible without an appearance in the Grey Cup.
  21. Five years with the same entire regime. The problem is they may not be any closer if they all stick around for another 5 years. At some point & soon either we truly win or something's gotta give.
