I tried watching it & I turned it off after a few minutes. Why was it called Perry Mason? The reboot has nothing to do with the old show that I remember watching with my family as a kid. (We only had one black & white television with only 3 channels). The characters aren't the same. The old show was based in the 50's & 60's because it was made in the 50's & 60's. They have it set in the 30's & 40's. I'm sure Perry Mason was practicing law in the 1930's but he'd have been fresh out of law school. The show's name is like click bait on social media. The headline grabs you but after that? Not much.

Humans are stupid. It's a wonder we got to where we are on the evolutionary scale.

Thanks for saying that as I really do appreciate it. I like to talk about the Old Days for sure. In the era that Damon Allen played, we had starting qbs who moved around a lot. Maybe even more than today. Although the off season between 2018 & 19 was a busy one for free agent CFL qbs. The 2013-14 off season was a busy one as well with the RedBlacks coming into the league as an expansion team drafting Kevin Glenn from the Stamps then signing Henry Burris as a free agent, Zach Collaros leaves Toronto to sign with Hamilton & Drew Willy signing with the Bombers. Let's look at QB movement in the CFL back some 25-30 years ago when Damon Allen was in his prime. In the early to late 90's, Danny McManus went from Winnipeg to Edmonton to Hamilton. Matt Dunigan went from Edmonton to BC to Winnipeg to Birmingham to Hamilton. Tracy Ham went from Edmonton to Baltimore to Montreal. Kent Austin went from Saskatchewan to BC to Toronto to Winnipeg. Tom Burgess went from Ottawa to Saskatchewan to Winnipeg back to Ottawa & then finally back to Saskatchewan. Damon Allen went from Edmonton to Ottawa to Hamilton back to Edmonton to Memphis to BC & finally to Toronto. With the number of starting qbs constantly on the move, teams could almost pick their starting qbs from a pool of impressive players. To me, unrestricted free agency has had a huge effect on players staying put or moving around. Teams looked at it it like, "Okay, Damon Allen wants X amount of dollars... What does Matt Dunigan want? Or Tracy Ham??" In the 90's & 2000's players cashed in on great seasons so they almost always signed two year deals. I still say that money was THE MOTIVATING FACTOR for qbs leaving their respective teams back then. Especially for the US CFL teams with Allen, Dunigan & Ham all signing in the States away from their Canadian teams in 1995. It meant signing for US dollars rather than Canadian which was a 30% raise with the exchange all on its own & not have to pay both Canadian & American income tax. Back in the 90's, the Canadian dollar had fallen to around 65-70 cents US.

More like a fake news headline.

At my age I can remember my U of M student number from 40 freaking years ago. Do you can think I can remember what I need at the grocery store as soon as I walk in???
-
How about ridiculously stupid. And the Mayor of Portland just lets this bullshit go on. I wonder how taxpayers feel about that?

When all that's left to do is just ignore everything by saying it's all fake news. 😉

It seems some people in Manitoba are getting worked up about 18 new cases. Most jurisdiction are praying they have that low a number. That is virtually nothing.

No, just one cheque which is why Republican brains are vapid.

Well, we can't answer accurately until we get to the other side. It was the second wave that killed the majority of people in 1919 during the Spanish Flu pandemic.

I personally don't think community ownership would work in Toronto. They have some owners with deep pockets with MLSE. Braley is a disaster in BC. He was a good owner in the 80's & he seems to be stuck in a time warp. The Lions were community owned until the 80's. It might still work there.

No kidding.

Allen did what all players do. There is unlimited free agency in the CFL & there was back when he played. He moved from team to team for more money. It had nothing to do with him not being any good, uncoachable or overrated. It had everything to do with being paid as much as he could get. Just like any CFL veteran player wants. As far as me using one argument, I assume you mean stats. Well, stats don't lie & they don't play favourites. If you play like **** then chances are your stats will be ****. How many qbs do we know put up great regular seasons but choke in the playoffs??? Allen saved his best for the playoffs & Grey Cups. That's what the stats tell me. That is their story.

One cheque $1200 in April. Yep, Americans are just livin' in the tall grass off that money. Republicans are all brain dead.

They pay the bills & that is it. They have no interest in investing in a new stadium for the Stamps. About a year ago there were rumours that a group of investors wanted to bring in a MLS team to Calgary for 2026. It would have involved building a new stadium of about 30,000 seats. Perhaps CSEC would partner with them to get a new football/soccer stadium built. Since then crickets with Covid. Wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing is now dead.

You'll get your answer in about 6 months with winter fast approaching.

I have no problem with a vaccine. I'd even volunteer for a clinical trial.
-
The question no one wants to address. What if the pandemic is still going strong in 2021 & there's no vaccine? Pro sports along with vast sectors of our economy will be devastated.

Are you like this when you hire on air announcers for your radio station in Olds?

Guess that's all he needed.

So, now you're a qb coach giving us your assessments of Allen's mechanics? I doubt if you could critique the difference between the way Matt Nichols throws compared to Ricky Ray & what their strengths & weaknesses are. Saying that, I'd be interested in your critique of Allen's throwing mechanics & what his flaws were. What you think prevented him from being considered elite in your eyes. Your argument about longevity is only one part of it. QBs have to play a long time in order to win a number of championships. It took Tom Brady nearly 20 years to win 6 Super Bowl championships. But he did it with just one team. Not 3. For some reason you've latched onto that as your only argument for greatness. I have read your comments but the problem I have is I don't know how serious you are about them. Whether playing a long time actually means something to you or not. When you throw Troy Westwood's name out there as an example, I begin to wonder. He played a long time & was good enough to play a lot of years but I'd never put his name up there with Justin Medlock or Rene Paredes. He had too many big misses in big games when the Bombers counted on him to come through & at times he didn't. You say nobody ever talks about how Allen elevated his game & made his teammates better around him??? I don't know how you can even say that as the subject came up a lot back when he played. He did play very well in the playoffs & he did make his teammates better. Being a multi championship qb means you do elevate others around you to new heights. That's what playing for 3 different teams & winning four championships with those teams does. Being able to adapt to a different city, team, players, coaching & offensive systems. As well as making everyone better. Look up some of the greats who played. Bernie Faloney won 2 Grey Cups with 2 teams. Edmonton & Hamilton. Ron Lancaster won 3 Grey Cups with 2 teams. Ottawa & Saskatchewan. Jerry Keeling won 2 Grey Cups with 2 teams. Calgary & Ottawa. Henry Burris won 2 Grey Cups with 2 teams. Calgary & Ottawa RedBlacks. Tom Clements won 2 Grey Cups with 2 teams. Ottawa Rough Riders & Winnipeg. Tracy Ham won 2 Grey Cups with 2 teams. Edmonton & Baltimore. Matt Dunigan won 2 Grey Cups with 2 teams. Edmonton & Toronto. Doug Flutie won 3 Grey Cups with 2 teams. Calgary & Toronto. Ricky Ray won 4 Grey Cups with two teams. Two each with Edmonton & Toronto. Winning 4 championships with 3 different CFL teams is a rare feat among CFL qbs over the years. Done only one once by Allen. Which is what makes him elite. Now, maybe I missed somebody & there's another CFL qb who won at least 4 Grey Cups with 3 different teams during his career but I doubt it. The stats don't lie. Especially at the qb position. Like a pitcher in baseball & a goaltender in hockey, it's all about the stats. The Vezina Trophy in hockey & Cy Young Award in baseball. That is how the greats are judged. Longevity is a part of it but not all of it. Championships define quarterbacking & so is winning 4 times with 3 different teams. I mentioned Allen's career stats because you can't ignore them even though you have tried. Or is that part of your fake news bit here? If you don't mention his stats does it means they never actually happened? Like the modus operandi of a certain President of the United States with orange hair? 😉 That Damon Allen was just this guy who fluked out 22 years in the CFL as a starter stumbling from team to team. He was just this flawed qb with lousy mechanics who managed to somehow throw for over 72,000 yards, had over 11,000 yards rushing & won 4 Grey Cups with 3 different teams. He was the Grey Cup MVP 3 times while being the league's all time leading passer for 12 seasons. To you, that's not elite but Allen was just lucky & overrated???

Okay, so what did Fred Childress, a LT ever do to piss you off?

You're point isn't proven at all. In fact your argument absolutely makes no sense.
