Well, you seem to know as well. So, you talk to Randy for me. You're much smarter, according to you.

How is saying the business model is broken ignorant when teams collectively lose $10-20 million every year with row upon row & section upon section of empty seats in nearly every stadium? It's true. If it was any other business would you say that? I'd say not. You'd call them bad owners. Not many of us here were AAF or XFL fans. Whe we'd watch a game the first thing we'd notice were the empty seats & we'd snicker to ourselves thinking that particular league would fail as we viewed both as a threat to the CFL. Well, we see a half empty stadium in Edmonton, in BC & a completely empty one in Toronto yet we don't snicker. We say to ourselves that's just the CFL does business & ignore it. Why do so many Canadians who are only NFL fans say hurtful things & mock our league? Whether we like to admit it or not, their perception of the CFL is absolute & total failure because of all the empty seats. That the CFL isn't worth watching or investing in as a fan. I've followed the Bombers & the CFL as a fan for 55 years. It would kill me to see the league fold. I pray they find a way to survive & then if they do to finally try & fix things right. The CFL needs to live within its means. If that means rolling back the salary cap millions of dollars to save it, then fine. Or adjusting ticket prices downward then fine,. Just do it. I hope the league survives & gets a chance to reset.

If anyone is friends with Lyle Bauer on Facebook you should read what he has to say about cancelling the season.... He makes some great points.

Coming soon to a town, city or province near you.

That is my feeling as well. That a new league will rise out of the old.
-
The point is it doesn't work. Things have to change. We hope they get that chance.
-
The $80-100 tickets are too high. if being profitable means going back to a $3 million dollar salary cap then so be it. Live within their means until revenues rise.
-
If the league survives things have to change. These guys are supposed business owners with an acumen for making money so they need to figure things out.
-
Unfortunately, he'll find out. Then maybe he'll finally understand the way Andrew Cuomo does.

How can Ambrosie say the teams rely on ticket sales more than tv revenue when stadiums on average are 25-30% empty every game with no effort to market those empty seats? And no thought of lowering prices so more people would be motivated to go to games than just stay home & watch on television. An $80 ticket not being used isn't worth $80. It's worth zero so why isn't that ticket $40? Or even $20?? Now, it's taken a pandemic to get the CFL's attention to show them just how broken their business model is. To tell the Committee that the teams lose $10-20 million a year every year is shocking. How can they even operate in good times? They've had over 30 years to figure this out, get it fixed & just ignored it.

I bought this beauty today on a facebook page called CFL Collectables. The CFL used to have an arm of the league called CFL Properties where you could order this poster as well as all other CFL teams back in 1970. They only sold it for one year. I bought mine from a collector & I'mgoing to get it framed. I had one originally but the corners ripped from the taaape I used to put it on my wall. I've always wanted another. So, I'm thrilled to have one again. It's not in mint condition but it is 50 years old. Someone suggested getting it in a mounted print as it would look fantastic. Thrilled to have this poster again.

I stuck with it & liked it. The last scene in Episode 8 was the 5 astronauts on the launch pad so I think Season 2 would have been more sci fi than the melodrama with Tom Haggerty's daughter. Her character was just s damned annoying. Just a question, is that why you weren't into that series? Too much melodrama & not enough action? If they gave a second chance to Another Life then The First deserved the same fate.

Meanwhile another sci fi series The First starring Sean Penn about a group of astronauts in training to go to Mars was a much better & superior series. Hulu cancelled it after 8 episodes. I saw all 8 as well. Go figure.

The female crew member who yelled & constantly swore was a welcome relief when she died;
-
I watched the entire series & I actually liked it although the crew for the most part has no one worth becoming invested in as a viewer. They are a bunch of social misfits who think a 40 year old Captain is too old, untrustworthy & show little if no loyalty to her (Katie Sackhoff). Not a group I'd think would be able to prevent the human race from being enslaved. The series never went into how these 20 somethings were picked for the mission. To me, they are all losers & that was the problem with the series. The crew itself. It made no sense.

Anyone happen to see Another Life & if you did what are your thoughts? It's been renewed for Season 2...

The problem is if you see a Rider one you & you're wearing a mask then you could suffocate when you swallow your vomit.

Semantics, man. Not given a fair chance to play vs unfairly cut aren't much different as blame is being pointed at the Bomber organization. I don't know what your point is here. You're the one saying Simonise didn't get a fair chance & then you turn around & say you don't know what went on behind closed doors or at practice. So then, how can you make a statement that it was the Bombers who weren't fair to Simonise? They saw him everyday, his commitment & work habits. Being released by two CFL teams in back to back years say it's a little more than that.

Most PPE's are going to front line health care workers. There's a shortage from my experience.

Thought you said he didn't get a fair chance here? Now you're saying he wanted to go back home.? So again, it was his decision derailing his career. Are you posting on Lionbackers saying he didn't get a fair chance with the Lions as well?
-
He did get a chance. He failed to take advantage of it so end of story. He got all kinds of chances wherever he went. Are we going to get Jade Etienne's family here as well saying he didn't get chances either?

He's been cut by the Bengals, the Bombers & the Lions. How can you say he hasn't had any real opportunities? One NFL & 2 CFL teams gave him opportunities. He had an opportunity with the Dinos but blew that when he was ruled academically ineligible to play for the Dinos. That would definitely raise a red flag by any pro team. If a player isn't disciplined to put in the time to study in university then how can he be expected to be disciplined to learn the intricacies of an NFL or CFL playbook? After dropping out of university he failed a drug test & tested positive for a banned substance when he was at the Bengals training camp. Then his CFL draft year deferred to 2018 from 2017 because of it. In a real head scratcher, after being cut by the Bengals he went to play junior ball with the Okanagan Sun. How would playing against mostly kids a year or two out of high school make him a better player after going to an NFL camp? Why not sign with an Arena League team or stay in the US to train & get better?? Still he got drafted by the Bombers even though he never dominated as a junior player with the Sun. The he was cut by the Bombers after 2 seasons here & last season with the Lions. To me, all this falls on the player & not the teams who cut him. Simonise decided himself to take the long & hard road to the pros. It didn't have to be that way so it was his decision. He was given chances. In some cases more than one. It' was up to Simonise to take advantage of what was given him. Looks like he didn't. Bad decisions played a part. Maybe the reality is he wasn't good enough.

Flames have Calgary Sports & Entertainment Corporation is owned by a multi billionaire Murray Edwards. Similar to MLSE they own the Flames, Hitmen, Stamps & Roughnecks. They'll be okay. I worry about the Lions & Als. New owners who never banked on a pandemic when he bought the team.
