  1. Develop a business plan that is realistic. Not get owners who can't watch expenses.
  2. I have a story for you but in this case, I won't use the name of the person who told me as he is a facebook friend & an MP in Ottawa. He is well connected to the CFL. When Ambrosie made his sales pitch last spring asking for $130 million dollars, this politician approached him & said, "I can help you. I know the members of the Committee & how to present your proposal to them. What to say, how to say it & who to say it to." Ambrosie had no interest in talking to him, getting help or finding out what tools he would need when talking to the Committee. He talked to Ambrosie a couple of times & was rebuffed eaxh time. He called the Commissioner "clueless". Well, we know what happened. Ambrosie appeared before the committee asked for $130 million. He said the CFL would fold without it. No, the Players don't know I'm here. I have no formal plan because all I want to do is get some money from you guys & we'll take care of the rest. And by the way, the teams lost $20 million dollars last season (2019). Ambrosie's initial presentation turned into a disaster & subsequent meetings afterwards where the amount of $$$ asked kept going down. Until last night we find the Liberals turned the league down flat & the season is cancelled. First impressions are everything & Ambrosie blew it
  3. Government sounded more like loan sharks.
  4. Put on your hard hat & watch out for objects flying at your head from the apologists.
  5. Don't agree. The NHL is almost half American with players allowed into Canada from almost every State plus the Euros coming back. You do know of the two NHL bubbles, right? That wasn't the issue at all. The feds didn't want to be involved & that was it.
  6. In his hey day, Marty York was great for the CFL. He was always coming out with stories in the Globe & Mail about the CFL & scoops. The guy still loves the CFL but has no love for the other sports teams in Toronto, especially the Blue Jays. If we had more Marty Yorks in the national media this league would be in a lot better place on the Canadian sports landscape. The CFL certainly would be relevant in Toronto. I follow him on twitter.
  7. Bottom line it doesn't matter where you live. If people don't social distance & wear masks then things can go south pretty fast. We've seen that this summer with the riots in the States, over 250,000 people in Sturgis, SD, Grand Beach being overcrowded & mostly young people not taking social distancing seriously & partying all across Canada no matter what province. Anyone who rants about having to wear a mask or that the virus is a hoax needs to have their heads examined.
  8. That isn't me although I wish.
  9. Ah, let's all go fishing in Manitoba. That always works to take the trials & tribulations away. however, we must remember to social distance.
  10. Congrats bigg jay!! Jim Heighton DE #58 Blue Bombers 1970-78.
  11. This guy was an exceptional football player. Who is "this guy" pouncing on a fumble & what position did he play? Do you know his number??
  12. At least Bighill has a career in financial planning going for him if football falls through.
  13. C'mon Noeller get with the program. You've now hit 40. You are now in the second & last phase of your lonnnng life. What you do with yourself from now on counts for nothing because there are less sunsets in your future. This is a world for young people. You should be willing to sacrifice your life for theirs so they can have jobs & work. You should be doing it gladly... That seems to be the message from Pallister, Kenney, DeSantis in Florida & Trump. All of which who will use their influence to save their lives while sacrificing others if they get sick.
  14. Wow! Best live performance of this song that I've ever seen. David Gilmour was on the top of his game here. Maybe it was the atmosphere. The city of Pompeii & the concert inside an ancient Roman Colliseum but Gilmour seems inspired here. A couple of things really stand out for me in this video. One, the drummer is having the time of his life playing while grinning from ear to ear throughtout the entire song. Two, at 6:48 an audience member reacts like, "What did I just see??!!" as the pyro goes off & the grand finale of the song is taking place. He puts his hands in the air & then grabs the back of his head in awe like it's something he's never experienced before. Music moves, comforts & inspires us in so many ways.
  15. It's not up to us or the league as something to look forward to. It's up to the Covid virus & if we can control it. Looking at the US, we can't.
  16. I think so as well. I just wish dinosaurs like David Braley would sell his interest in the Lions & leave. Something tells me he has a lot to do with the rancor that has been going on for years between the CFL & it's PA. The CFL needs a new way of thinking from top to bottom.
  17. Hey TrueBlue4ever, since you insist on bringing up how I feel about Ambrosie (& I didn't) then I can retort to your comments. Anyone here who thinks he's done a good job through this whole process of getting a 2020 season in with the botched federal committee hearing asking for up to $130 million, all the missed deadlines & now complete silence by the guy have their heads in the sand. Players hate him. Media is mocking him. More & more fans are turning on him the longer this farce goes on. If & when this season is cancelled then watch the negative reaction unfold & the anger will be focused on him for a lack of leadership & openness.
  18. As far as I'm comcerned, the only thing you guys present as any kind of evidence is second & third hand information on Miller. None of you have actually worked for him to say honestly you know what he's like as a boss. So, it's all hearsay. Miller may own other businesses but he is a football guy first & foremost. It's his passion & what he understands best. He knows the world of pro football, the CFL & its limitations as a league. Looks to me like if he was as bad as some of you make him out to be that Walters & O'Shea would have left long ago yet here they are The Champs along with the scouts in the Football Ops dept. Until he actually does the job as Commissioner none of you have any idea what kind of a guy he'd be & how he'd treat people like the CFLPA.
  19. What bigger issue? What Miller does with his companies has nothing to do with how he runs the Bombers. Same with the Bombers. Do you know how many Team Presidents heve come & gone since their last one in 1990. Some have been Salt Of The Earth guys I'm sure & others have been asshats but they all lost. Miller just won the Grey Cup. Like others have siad, I don't care how he did it. We are the champions. So, there's no "bigger issue" here. More like "no one gives a **** issue".
  20. Employees come & go everyday. Especially if they're unhappy at their job. Doesn't take much for a boss to act like a **** to push someone out. When they leave it's always the boss's fault. Sounds like Miller is a hard ass & a perfectionist & maybe even a bit of a control freak but when it comes to the Bombers, in the seven years Miller, Walters & OS have never left so it could be he has to act differently when he deals with them.
