Well, here's the thing. That source he talks about is a personal friend of mine who has ties to the Stamps. I spoke with him about this a couple of days ago & he confirmed the team is for sale (which he said a Stamps exec had informed him) but he never told me an XFL guy wants to buy the team. I understood it would be a local buyer. The Flames have been absentee owners. They don't care about the Stamps. No advertising or marketing. Corporate ticket business has collapsed. No plans for a new or renovated McMahon. I've been told the Stamps are being run on a shoestring budget. Murray Edwards is probably using Stamps losses as a tax writeoff. But this story about possibly The Rock as an owner, I dunno.

Especially Justin "Cuff Links & Tie" Goltz.

Broken Tibia. You'll see him. Rod Pederson on his podcast today said there is a buyer for the Stamps & that "he has XFL connections". He speculated The Rock" as he was cut by the Stamps 23 years ago.

That has to be one of the worst takes I have ever read here.

What about people who can't use E Transfers? Or don't have smartphones because they can't afford it. People who have declared bankruptcy? They can't get a credit card. If we go to a cashless society, they have no way to purchase anything.

That's a discussion for another place that's for sure... There are a lot of considerations.

I'm just going to talk attendance here as I don't gamble. And from a Calgary perspective. Here in AB, most restrictions are gone. You don't have to mask or social distance & crowds are like they were pre pandemic. Very few people mask up anymore. I called the Stamps ticket office in July to express my concerns about allowing unvaccinated fans into McMahon & how I would refuse to attend a game under those circumstances. I told him that the team was making a mistake & people would stay away as they feel unsafe but he just said they're following guidelines laid out by the province. He didn't seem too concerned at all. He did say a number of STH's have deferred their tickets to next season & the team is allowing them to do that this season only but he didn't say how many. I have seen many comments on social media about Stamps fans not sure they should attend games or downright refuse to go along with no masking. As well as the unknown of who is fully vaccinated & who is not sitting next to & around you. I think thousands of fans have decided to pass on Stamps games because of the reckless decision they made to allow unvaccinated fans to attend. Then I realize the Flames owners have close ties to the UPC & it's not surprising the decision that they made. I can tell you, there is zero chance I'll attend any future Stamps games with the lack of Covid protocols for safety. If I feel that way then there are thousands of fans here who feel the same way. Teams should be doing whatever they can to make people feel that it's safe to come back but the 2 teams in Alberta aren't doing that & it's crazy not to.
