  1. Too bad they couldn't be the Sasquatch or Utah Squatch for short. Yeti is in the Himalayas. Bigfoot is in the US & I think Sasquatch is mostly Canadian.
  2. I know. What can you do? I saw that today I believe on Instagram or X. Very sad.
  3. Man, this is too funny considering it's coming from someone here who for years thinks his **** don't stink. .
  4. Sergio re-signed back in late November. One year deal. Confirmed. How hard is it to check? https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/11/21/papi-returns-blue-bombers-re-sign-sergio-castillo/#:~:text=The club announced today it,clubhouse%2C the practice field%2C the Sheahan will be back. You can almost book it. Osh, you know.
  5. Last I heard Schoen is a Blue Bomber until February 13th. That's tampering. Clubs can't covet publicly or offer any monetary terms until February 2nd. They become free agents February 13th. If they want Schoen for big bucks they can have him. Schoen's been nothing but a walking injury the past 2 seasons. He did us no good not being able to play.
  6. One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you, Bluto.
  7. I see we signed receiver Lee Hazelwood.
  8. If the hometown team offers a player an opportunity to come home for big bucks they'll go. If I was playing in Edmonton & I had a chance to come home to Winnipeg, I'd jump at it. If Clercius develops into an elite Canadian receiver, the Als will come calling. We all know that Hamilton will go after Tyrell Ford to play as I believe he's from Burlington. His family is still there.
  9. Marcel Bellefeuille is still available. Sure it is, releasing Woli & Bighill clears up money to chase after free agents. Mike Rose, James Vaughters, Jake Ceresna will be available in free agency. I have a feeling we'll be bringing in someone on the DL to help WJ out.
  10. Past actions by players. I find Quebec players like to play at home if they could. Culture in Winnipeg & Manitoba is different that Montreal or Quebec. There are language barriers. French is a first language & not a second. Lots of reasons to go home for a lot of players from there. Plus the Als would offer him great money to sign as a FA.
  11. I think Clercius won't be here long term. He's from the Montreal area & his family lives there so why would he stay here long term? When he's a free agent, he'll go to the Als. I think long term planning with him will be risky.
  12. Guess they want to sign Schoen AND Lawler.
  13. Nobody can really say. It all depends.
  14. You're not supposed to be disappointed. You're supposed to he HAPPPPY!!
  15. Thomas is not physical, either. He constantly gets stood up on pass rush, blown back on run support at the 0, 1, 2 & 2i technique depending upon where he lines up in a 3 or 4 man front & gets washed away on sweeps.
  16. That game against Ottawa was brutal. We all know Strev is a warrior but expecting him to play that style of football was absolutely crazy. You're right, 'do or die', he was never the same after that game. He was physically punished by the RedBlacks defense. I remember watching that game wondering just what the hell Buck was doing. Would Buck expect Nathan Rourke to do what Streveler did? Who knows, maybe but I doubt it. Ringmaiden & Doman would both have conniptions.
  17. Agreed. Nothing will change with the status quo. However, what some here are saying is that we are a developmental league & we should just accept it. Don't ask the NFL for money poaching players. Okay then, let the NFL take over & make it official. Do away with 3 down football & play four downs with the NFL field as we're developing players for that league, anyway. Put the CFL with the UFL. Play our 10 games in the spring, Let the roster turn over every season & start again the next year. Bring in all American coaches & 98% American players. If I hear, "No, wait, don't change the rules. Keep it 3 downs!!" I'll just ask why? If we're a developmental league then why play different rules on a different field for guys wanting to make the NFL? Go full bore American & be done with it as it's better for the players anyway.
  18. We must be the only professional league who lets another football league poach its players without compensation. Look what teams in soccer pay when players transfer from one professional team to another or go from one league to the other. Country to country. As far as the CFL goes with free agency among its own teams, we draft or sign a player & develop them. Then bang, as soon as their contract is up, players leave their original team. The team that spent the money developing these players lose them for nothing. I think we need to take a hard line with the NFL & demand compensation. The same hard line with CFL free agency. Have restricted free agency among teams in the league until players reach a certain age or a certain number of years of playing experience before they can leave a team without compensation. I just look around & for millions of young Canadian football fans, the CFL means absolutely nothing to them. Part of that reason is because of the way the league is run. With the CFL, everything is free. Complete free agency among teams. Players free to sign with NFL teams even if they are under contract. I just feel the CFL's business model is broken & because of that we average 19-22,000 a game year in & year in & year out with little growth. We lose out in the 18-35 year old demographic because they don't take the CFL seriously as a pro league. That has to change.
  19. Yeah, I'm complaining but lots of things going on with the team, I guess. All it means is that I care about the team. The Biggie thing is just a head scratcher to me. I don't disagree with him not being offered a contract. I actually agree with that decision. It's just how it's been handled. I've been fired once or twice in my career. Don't have to worry about it now that I'm retired. I know that I received a phone call saying to be at the office at such & such a time for a meeting where the boss delivered the bad news. It wasn't pleasant but it was done in person. I just don't get how a GM & Head Coach can just ghost a player of Biggie's stature like that. To me, it's all about respect.
  20. So, it takes 3 months to take a cell phone out of their pocket & call? Nope. Don't buy it.
  21. We move on from Biggie but give Jake Thomas a new contract. Go figure.
  22. For a team that claims to have this great "culture" & players wanting to come here, we sure treat our departing veteran players like ****. Bighill had to call Kyle Walters to find out the team has moved on from him??? Walters couldn't have picked up the phone, invited Biggie for lunch or to a meeting with him & O'Shea & be told in person? That's garbage treating a future Hall of Famer like that.
  23. What did we do thirty years ago? I'd argue that the quality of Americans coming up here back then was better than or equal to now. Yes, I know there weren't rival leagues like the UFL or expanded NFL rosters but still, if the NFL wants to raid our rosters then they should pay for teams for the privelige of taking our players. Then, we'd know for sure if a player like Ajou is just training camp fodder or is a serious prospect. As a league, we seem to cut off our nose to spite our face, Too much freedom for players moving around. Fans have nothing vested in most players which hurts loyalties. Most fans can't name all the players on the rosters or their numbers unlike when I was a young fan many years ago. Less investment leads to fan apathy. That's a huge problem.
  24. Just curious, why is the Ajou signing great for Canada & the league? I don't get my fellow Canadians. We have a President attacking us everyday, threatening tariffs, wants our resources at the same time saying we have nothing his country needs which is so much **** & wants us to be the 51st State. We say we hate him as well as being part of the US. We don't like being bullied by a big mouth American. You'd think we would be proud of everything Canadian including the CFL. But we can't as a Nation get enough NFL, MLB & NBA because it's American. We burst with pride everytime a CFL player gets a sniff from the NFL. Like it's supposed to validate simehow that the CFL is a great league when we already know that it is. My attitude is **** off NFL. You want to sign our players under contract then PAY US when you do!!! A hundred thousand dollars per player minimum or stay away.
