  1. You're probably too young to remember or even experienced but the final Bud Grant year in 1966, I believe they were 10-6 or 9-7 & finished second losing to the Riders in the Western Best of 3 series 2-0. Grant left for Minnesota in 1967. Grant did a minor retooling like you suggest after finishing 3-12-1 in 63 & 1-15 in 1964. They went 11-5 in 65 & got back to the GC to lose to Hamilton. The 1967, 68 & 69 seasons under Joe Zaleski were dismal. Hit rock bottom under Jim Spavital in 70 going 2-14, My point. To avoid walking off a cliff some of the vets Osh likes should have been gone 2 years ago & replaced. with younger & cheaper players. Had Bud Grant not relied on so many aging vets in the mid 60's the team would have been years ahead of where they ended up in 1970. If Osh does come back then nothing will change. He'll still be loyal to a fault to Thomas, Kolo & other vets getting long in the tooth. That is when I believe this team will step off a cliff. Look at how Wally Buono ran the Stamps & Lions. Never afraid to make the changes he saw fit. Letting veterans who could sgtill play but wanted top dollar go & replacing them with younger players who didn't cost as much. That philosophy made him the winningest coach in CFL history. Wally cut Allen Pitts after having a thousand yard season in 2000 for crying out loud. Who does that??? He replaced Pitts with rookie Marc Boerigter who was an impact receiver before heading soiuth to the NFL Chiefs. With Osh, would Bo even had got a chance?? What a ballsy move that was.
  2. The GM doesn't have final say. It's on O'Shea as you stated.
  3. Miller will go for sure. Younger & JJ if one of them isn't HC
  4. Give Mueller his backup qb for a year in Maier & see how brilliant he is. Mueller had Harris who had an oiutstanding year but is pushing 40.
  5. You don't hire an entire staff of Newbies. Guys who have never coached as assistants. That's a recipe for disaster. Most players have no idea what preparations coaches need to do at the pro level as well as the long hours away from family, friends as well as birthdays, recitals at school & social events..
  6. What kind of coaching staff is that??? What is so special about Mueller? As far as coaching in the CFL goes, he hasn't won a thing... yet. Even if he does on Sunday, I don't think he's ready. Your other selections? Not impressed. Other than Jackson, they're short on coaching experience & preparation. Miller will stick with Osh wherever he goes. That would be a disaster of a staff. They'd make a good Rifles staff, though.
  7. All you have to do is look at us the past 3 Grey Cups.
  8. If Osh leaves for the Argos look for Jake Thomas to call it quits & maybe even Kolankowski. Although the Bombers just may not renew their contracts. That would be funny if Thomas surfaces in Toronto. I'm almost gleeful with anticipation.
  9. In pro sports, the only loyalty is to the money. If the Argos give him financial freedom then Osh isn't coming back to coach anyone here because every player in that locker room would leave for the very same thing. The only thing O'Shea cares about is his family.
  10. I like separation of power. With the admin cap, it just sets teams up to keep deadwood right thru to the end of their contracts as what happened in Edmonton & Ottawa. As in Jones with the Elks & Dyce in Ottawa. That damned cap needs to go. I like Jarious Jackson a lot better. An offensive coach with experience being with other teams under different head coaches. He's an outsider & I like that.
  11. I'll take Milanovich. Or Miller may decide to wipe the slate clean & hire an all new front office. Miller better get right down to business.. The off season is two weeks shorter. Stalling for a month or more will just set us back.
  12. Fire means the Bombers owe him something. They'll just let his contract expire.
  13. When I saw Dobson playing Center for the Ti Cats on Saturday, I just shook my head & couldn't believe it. We had this guy & let him walk.
  14. I'd like to see Neufeld slide over to Center.
  15. His administration had to deal with the worst terrorist attack in history on the US soil in 2001. It really was more of an act of war. Would you expect Cheney to be anything less than ruthless?
  16. O'Shea's signing would cause a real surge in season ticket sales for the Argos. Maybe a hundred
  17. I'll sleep much better tonight knowing that. Lol.
  18. Is that supposed to make feel better? Who cares?
  19. Not only that but we refused to spend to the ceiling blaming the CFLPA for it.
  20. Does it make sense to have Kolankowski & Thomas on the roster? Even paying them each a single dollar is an overpayment as they have no business being on the roster. Yet if Osh & his Boys come back then they'll start no matter how useless they are on the field. I don't recall seeing a lot of guys coming from Randolph's side. I think he held his own pretty well. I saw a lot coming through on Kola's & Neufeld side as well as Wallace at times. He at least has an excuse: his experience. Kola jiust plain sucks & is terrible while Neufeld is 36 years old & his skills are eroding.
  21. Time for Walters to be shown the front door.
  22. I'm not going on & on about Hardrick. If you read what I said, you'll see I agreed with letting him go. What I don't like is Walters re-signing Schoen (& I posted so at the time) but I was very unhappy letting Lawler go. Then Walters not signing an adequate replacement. BTW, did you notice on Saturday Liam Dobson was the starting Center for Hamilton & didn't look out of place. What do we have??? Well, we have an Osh Boy in Kolankowski wasting a roster spot & money there. Walters couldn't keep Dobson? Yeah, right. What ****.
