He is probably going to be a 3rd line player for us going forward (with the ability to move up with injuries).  $3M for a 3rd line player is good value.  $4M is getting pricey.

I agree that he's a third line guy; however, with injuries, he can easily walk onto the first or second and fit in immediately. Also, when the team struggles, Perreault can be moved up and down and help any line.

Versatility is why I like him as a player and the contract term and value.

if he's serious about the NHL he should make the jump to the Knights.  He can do night courses at Western.  The OHL is a huge opportunity for him, he should take it.

He could just sign for the Moose. Even better opportunity.

    Just saying....

The Jets' have said in the past their intent has been for guys to over-ripen on the Moose.  Their decision making with Petan and even Lowry and Copp might not show that.  But they had holes to fill and lesser depth.  They have better depth now.  They will lean towards good players spending time on the Moose and developing their games and embracing the Jets culture and earning the spot on the big team.

They let Lowry play for a year with the Moose, and, at the time, it appeared to be the right move to let him play with the Jets two years ago.

Ehlers-Scheif-Wheeler (Maurice has already said as much)

Perrault-Little-Laine (two vets and a rookie)

    Connor-Burmi-Armia (playmakers and scorers)

Copp -Lowry- Dano (a solid 4th line)

Staf is traded for whatever you can get for him. We aren't winning the cup this year so give some kids the ice time.

    Thorbs is in the pressbox.

    Peluso is wearing antlers.

    Chiarot Buff

    Morrissey Trouba

    Enstrom Myers

You would put rookie Connor next to Burmi and year two Armia? That's asking for trouble. That's death. Maurice doesn't trust Burmi and he had troubles creating last year.

You've got your top dman playing with a borderline NHLer? Chariot was not good enough last year after a promising rookie campaign.

Next, you're putting a rookie up with Trouba? Feels like you're asking for trouble. I'm not sure that Morrissey showed enough last year for him to make the big team. Another year in the A would be good.

Your third pairing is the most experienced group any likely should be 2nd.

My prediction, based on the current line up:

    Trouba-Buff

    Enstrom-Myers

    Stuart-Postma

Not sure what to do with that third pairing but I don't think they sit Stuart in October.

You may be right. And if this was a few years ago, I'd agree 100%.  I don't know...I think people are more down on this team organization than they have been in quite some time.

If things start ugly on the 14th I think you'll see more people beating the traffic than booing the team.

Those are exactly my sentiments. The 'Boo Birds' have already left. Those that are still at IGF are the ones that will just walk away. Enough is enough.

Connor definitely starts with the Jets.  Does he stay up all year? Dunno. But he definitely starts

Who are you sending down? I think Connor is given every opportunity to impress but I just don't see how they fit him in the team.

I hope I'm wrong because that means he's earned the spot!

Just a question to get what others think of this...

Should the Bombers consider trading for Burris ?

    No, for several reasons.

1 - We would have to release Willy and I don't think they're ready to do that.

2- Why trade for him when we could pick him up cheaper (salary) when he's released?

3- He's injured. When will he be ready?

4- Smacks of desperation from Walters. Only if he thinks he's about to be fired does he propose this.

5- If we do a trade, Ottawa will expect something in return of value. What do we have that they want (that we can afford to give)?

The owner is the mortage holder - Govt. of Manitoba - and the guy who slipped them all the money (construction, operational funding, overruns, repairs, Grey Cup subsidy, etc.) was defeated badly in the last provincial election.

Tim Horton's Field was built with public money.

BMO Field was built with public money.

BC Place and Lansdowne were reno'd with public money.

    And on, and on.

All Grey Cups receive public funds.

Not saying I approve but can't blame the gov't for the product on the field.

Chevy saying Raffl/Halischuk will not be offered contracts but Jets leaving door slightly open on a Halischuk return.

Tough break for Raffl. During camp last year, he seemed almost a lock to make the team. Then, when he didn't, you thought he might be first called up. A series of injuries negated that and he never got up to the same level.

Who else is pencilled in after Myers though...?

And isn't Jay Harrison a UFA...?  Why would Chevy not just bring him back instead of Strait - thought Harrison was better than Stuart actually

I don't think Harrison is particularly interested in coming back to the Moose. I don't think he was pleased to be put on waivers and never have been recalled. The trade closed his door on the Jets forever, I think.

Confirmed?  Because the rumors were Buffalo and Detroit offering $10m per year.  Im somewhat surprised Tampa wants to pay to be honest if for no other reason than the playoffs showed they could win without him.

Ten million plus waiting through a rebuild in Buffalo. Taxes alone bring these numbers much closer together. Plus, he gets the extra year.

Toronto media went out of there way to put this narrative out there today

Wasn't the President of Canadian Tire at the meeting with the Leafs today? They really do have an advantage when signing free agents but (obviously) it does not always work!
