What was up with Dressler? Didn't notice him take any snaps last night.
Still nursing an injury (quad). He dressed to hold for Medlock.

Trouba won't be traded and he won't be signed any time soon either........he will sign just before or just after TC starts.
He'll want a contract before playing for Team North America. Plus, I think he's a likely target for an offer sheet.

He is on an ELC so Chevy will wait like he did with Bogo and Kaner.
I think it's more likely Trouba gets an offer sheet. That will throw a wrench into any negotiations.

We also have roundabouts. Or "calming circles". Never heard that term until this thread.
Calming circles and roundabouts are two different things.

I'll be surprised if Willy plays more than 2 or 3 sets of downs. The first preseason game isn't to get the main offense a bunch of work. It's to get a look at as many players as possible in 'game' situations. Nichols is likely to get the most time IMO.
That's how I would normally feel but Willy's been out for 10 months and it's a new system. I think he needs more time to get the timing down.

So how long does Willy stay in? 1st quarter? Is Nichols a lock at number 2 this year?
My guess is that Willy is in until half, unless the o-line doesn't hold up. If he's getting hit, he's out.
Nichols is 2. I don't see that changing this season.

They call them calming circles because they are stupid. The stop signs they previously used slowed traffic down too.
I agree they are stupid. But they slow traffic down in all directions, where as the stop signs only slowed traffic down in two directions.
Calming Circles > Stop Signs
Roundabouts > Calming Circles

That sounds stupid. Aces would be better. Las Vegas Aces. Almost rhymes.
Aces feels 60s-70s.
They should call them the Strippers. After the LV Strip.

I lived on Willowlake before the Roundabout and it was horrible during rush hour.
The small round abouts Winnipeg loves so much are moronic. To small to be effective and difficult for firetrucks, snow clearing and other large trucks (delivery etc). Useless really.
They're calming circles meant to slow down traffic, not roundabouts meant to improve traffic flow.

Call them the Las Vegas Raiders and get a jump on Oakland.
They'll be the Black Knights apparently.

other than hotels, what corporations? Counting Cars?
If I'm a big corporation, not even necessarily centered in Las Vegas, but have a presence, I would be scooping up a pair of tickets for clients and staff. Always someone going to Vegas.
Plus Counting Cars and Gold & Silver Pawn Shop!

The atmosphere will be strange in the arena. I think there'll be more out of town fans who will cheer for the visiting team than home.
That's what I think too. It will always have an odd atmosphere.
I'm certain that there will be a lot of corporate season tickets that will be dispersed widely. You'll never know who will be in the seat.

I bet if Henoc announced he'd switched sides to play QB, he'd get a ludicrous contract offer from Popp within an hour.
To be eighth on the depth chart?!

Some Rider math from Rod Pederson... there are how many years in a decade?
Rider math gets you to 13 players. They always seem to be off by one!

Laine has said he believes he should go number one because he had the best season. That's hard to argue. I think he has had the best season out of his draft class.
However, that's certainly not how scouting works. And the Leafs need a number one centre.

I'm excited for the sights and sounds of the stadium.
I can't wait to see Harris line up in the backfield. I'm hoping to see Dressler run some routes. I'm excited to see who will get the first preseason sack.
Bring it on!

According to the morning show on 1290, we've all been pronouncing Laine wrong. It's "Line". They played a clip of Laine introducing himself.
A very clever caller just mentioned that perhaps Canadians are just adding "eh" to the end.
"Line", eh?

The rumour is Vegas. Both are soft landing spots but Vegas is probably more likely to pay the expansion fee so relocation to Quebec makes sense.
Also Eklund reports the Rumor is not true. So it's true for sure.
Relocation fee will be near the expansion fee, I'm pretty sure.
Board at Quebecor says purchasing a team is not in the plans right now. But when did we start trusting Mulroney again?
I can't see anyone spending $700M+ (CDN) for a team right now to put them in Quebec City. How would you ever make that back?

...not to mention strengthening a division rival's weakest position.
Coaching is their weakest position and this deal would not help them.
I would prefer to moving Myers at this time for a LHD, even with his preferable contract situation, for a LHD. I'm not really sure what we could get back.

I found the park and ride system to be the best means to get myself and my son to and from the games.
My issue has been with the disorganization after the games, including where and when to load the buses.
Sometimes they load at one spot, sometimes another 10 feet back (or forward). Wouldn't matter except that there is no formal queue system, so it's every person for themselves fighting to get on. There are some really observant and helpful people who try to help those in need get on. That does not include the Transit supervisors who create the mess. They are indifferent to suggestions or complaints and are strictly worried with no one crossing the street to load before it's time. They don't care where the bus stops or make any attempt to help with the queue.
They also choose to load one bus at a time (at the start), which would make sense if there are only a few people trying to get on. However, when you have thousands, it actually delays the departure of buses and does not help. Of course, that's all thrown out the window after 15 to 20 minutes when all the buses seem to open their doors.
Once you get on the bus, all is good. I find it fast and efficient; however, the mess they create leading up to that point is exasperating.

There's no way signing one player at a lower rate will suddenly set a new market for top picks... that's why this whole argument is BS... the market is already set... last year's first few picks and this year's first few signed picks are what the Riders will have to pay St John... otherwise he'll never suit up for them
On the micro level, for JSJ alone, you're correct but on the macro level, if this is Jones' approach, we win.

I'm going to love see Corney coming in behind Westerman. They're going to wear out the hogs on the other side. Just keep going at them and going at them. By the fourth quarter, we should be getting to the QB regularly.
(That's how I see it in my head, at least.)
