  1. (1) You are so out of touch with reality if you think every football player on every CFL team is 100% healthy right now and that no players are playing through pain. (2) As for a CFL head coach who made a public announcement that was a lie - How about Chris Jones announcing Hughes would play against Calgary on October 20, 2018.... https://www.cbc.ca/sports/football/cfl/riders-charleston-hughes-to-play-saturday-despite-recent-dui-arrest-1.4869460 ... then completely doing an about face after the public backlash he received for the decision: https://www.620ckrm.com/2018/10/19/chris-jones-addresses-reversal-of-charleston-hughes-decision/ Seriously, do you even follow your own team?
  2. I would like to happily nominate this thread to be locked as it is no longer relevant.
  3. Basically, it'd determined based on how the team(s) that are tied played against each other. Gets a bit more complicated when you have 3 or more teams tied. Assuming we were to tie BC at the end of the year...From CFL website: When two or more member Clubs are tied in the final Division standings at the conclusion of the regular season schedule, preferential ranking for playoff purposes shall be determined on the basis of the following descending-order priorities and shall be awarded to the Club that: has won the greater number of games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, (season series was split 1-1) has the higher winning percentage in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, (against each other, BC/WPG are tied 1-1, both have .500 win %) has scored the higher net aggregate of points (i.e. points scored for less points scored against) in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then,<- we are here has scored the higher net quotient of points (i.e. points scored for divided by points scored against) in all games played against all of the other tied Club(s), then, has the higher winning percentage in all games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points in games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher quotient of points in games played against all member Clubs of the Division, then, has scored the higher net aggregate of points in games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has scored the higher net quotient of points in games played against all member Clubs of the League, then, has won a coin toss against the other tied Club. Note: If two Clubs remain tied after other Club(s) are eliminated during any step, tie breaker reverts to step a).
  4. I think it'd be better to play Stamps first, then Riders in the West final for the sole reason that Calgary has more to gain by having that extra bye week with how injuries have decimated their roster of late. That said - either way, we're in tough for the Western Semi-final.
  5. I agree with your assessment here... I also thought he was playing hurt. The real question though, why would our coaching staff rush him back, especially when we had a very serviceable backup in Streveler?
  6. HH to the fans for hitting 100 procedure and time count penalties caused at IGF.
  7. If there's a man that could strip-sack a major intersection... it's Bighill.
  8. It's not possible for us to face BC in the playoffs (best we can do is 3rd, and if we finish 3rd, BC has to finish 4th, if we finish 4th we crossover to the East), so weather will definitely be a factor... at least from the Bombers perspective.
  9. Thankfully, just because of the way the math works out, there is no way for us and BC to face each other in the playoffs (the exception being in the Grey Cup). Which is good... BC looks like the hottest team right now at 6-1, and have been absolute dynamite at home (7-1) this year. Could make some noise.
  10. Wait wait wait... if BC hosts the WSF, who would they host?
  11. Yes, but almost all of them were called back due to special teams penalties... his 2017 punt return and kick return statistics are below. To give it some context, I've put the league-wide average for kick/punt return for the 2018 year, up to week 19 in bold after his numbers. Punt return stats: Punt returns: 67 (709 league-wide) Yards off punt returns: 775 (average of 11.6 per return), 7,207, average of 10.2 per return Longest punt return: 88 yards (102 yards) Punt return TDs: 1 (1.49% chance of a TD) (11 on 709 attempts or 1.55% chance of a TD) Kick return stats: Kick returns: 3 (573 league-wide) Yards off kick returns: 56 (average of 18.7 per return), (12,365, average of 21.6 per return) Longest kick return: 20 yards (104 yards) Kick return TDs 0 (0.00% of a TD) (3 on 573 attempts, or 0.5% chance) I think the biggest problem for Fogg is his height - even on that Chris Matthews bomb, he was still somewhat in a position to make a play, but the fact Matthews is about a foot taller on him he might as well have been in the stands watching the play.
  12. Man, I don't know the guy personally, but based on his attitude Leggett wouldn't have it any other way.
  13. You are correct sir, the final game for CAL/SSK is the tiebreaker for that season series which is tied 1-1.
  14. Absolutely, it is no different than how without fail there are always idiots that cheer when a player from the visiting team gets hurt at IGF. Even if it is a Riders player - that is still a human being who suffered an injury in a violent sport... no place for that kind of behavior.
  15. The league record for most non-offensive touchdowns during the regular season is 15 by the 1987 BC Lions... the Riders currently have 13 non-offensive touchdowns (9 defensive, 1 punt return and 3 kick returns) this year. Those same 1987 BC Lions also set the record for most defensive touchdowns in the regular season (11). So for a team that's close to the league record for TDs by their defense, I think the allegation that they have been lucky is very much warranted.
  16. I think they should open it. Politically it is a tough pill for the public to swallow, but all the evidence and studies indicate it is a good idea for the growth of the city. That said, I think what will realistically happen, is Bowman will get reelected, largely due to the ineptitude of his competition. The referendum will fail, and the intersection will stay closed for the foreseeable future. I think you're missing the point here - most cities don't have walking/cycling as a major form of transportation for the simple fact that human beings are, in general, lazy.
  17. Not only that, they seldom mention the method used to survey people. Lots of these surveys use phone calls (i.e. landlines) to survey individuals. This inherently means you're surveying an older population, which has been shown to be more conservative-leaning. So the results really aren't that surprising.
  18. Can we just have a gentleman's agreement with Calgary next week, and force the game to a tie? It would lock up a playoff spot for us, and lock up 1st in the West for them.
  19. How does someone not get thrown out for that hit.
  20. Calgary still playing for 1st in the West, hopefully they can get it done and we play their scrubs next week.
  21. I think it's appropriate, up until this week, all four teams in the West could've ended up being 10-8, whilst in the East the top team could easily end up being 9-9. The whole purpose of the playoff format is to have the six best teams qualify. Under the situation described above, that would not be the case as one of BC, EDM, SSK and WPG would miss the playoffs at 10-8. As for winning the Grey Cup - it's just like any other football game, once you get there... any given Sunday.
  22. Look at it this way, at least the crossover rule exists? We'd be in bigger trouble if it didn't.
  23. Yep - only difference between a playoff game is that Bombers would get in if the EDM/WPG game ended in a tie (we would be 9-8-1, and EDM would finish 8-9-1). As others have pointed out - win/tie against Calgary or a win/tie against EDM clinches a playoff spot for us... basically we need 1 point in the next two games. What I personally find disgusting is that the Western crossover team right now (BC: 9-7) has the same record as Ottawa (9-7) which is first in the east.
