At this point I dont think we have any drop off from JSK to wilson. I didnt see much I liked from wilson previous to this year. But he has stepped up in a big way. He is soo fast and soo strong its scary. I want to see him used off the edge and in some other specialty blitz packages. With his speed if you can create an angle to the QB for him its all over. Teams from now on are going to be scheming for him every week. He could open up a lot for us. Pump fake the screen pass to whitehead and hit a deep man over the top of him all day.

Thats a good comparison. Though I feel like even then calgary was executing much cleaner while winning then we did. Last night seemed like we were on the ropes right after we scored the 2nd td till the end. Could be grass being greener on the other side. Or the veneer of a dynasty making their play seem better then it was. Or the expectation. I expect calgary to beat every one. And I expected us to play better last night.

Harris has a shakey game once a year it seems. That was bad even by those standards. I expect a big turn around from him next week. He seemed soo mad at him self. Hes still the heart and soul of our team. Nichols wasnt great in the first half, but he was alot better through a quarter and a half then late in the game. Our offense hasnt been able to find its rhythm early and thats some thing the coaching staff have to address and correct. Thats all preparation.

You have some good points. Bad play and play call work in sync together. And yeah a lot of the guys who played poorly tonight are guys you expect to lead the team. Here is hoping they play better next game. Idr calgary winning many like last night. Also we should have won that game easily. Its not like the team played poor in all aspects and eeked one out. We had a good lead for most of the game and then tried our best to choke at the end.

I swear the edm wrs droped 6 passes flat out in the clutch that could have changed the game.

Both were epic efforts and amazing testaments to luckys speed, balance, and strength. Idc who throws those balls, those plays were 100% effort and amazing play by lucky. Even nichols on the screen pass seemed wowed.

I was thinking about that through the game. Between the 20 yard stripes harris looked like an elite QB. Checking down, hitting the right guys in the right spots, methodically marching down field. But that is against the bend but dont break hall defense. And in the red zone, they had nothing even close to a threat to score. I was back and forth on who was better and who id rather have. And honestly its a toss up. But that said, I dont trust harris to stay healthy, consistent and lead a team. Even if he threw 3 tds tonight he isnt a guy i would want to rest a season on.

In the post game mos said no word yet. But yeah, it looks bad. JBR in chat pointed it looked broken. Could see nasty discoloration above his sock. Hope he is ok. He can make it happen on the roll out. If he has to scramble its much worse. Especially tonight, he stopped looking down field and was caught looking at the rush.

I can see kicking that field goal on 2nd down, then you have a chance to reset if some thing goes wrong. But I would have taken 1 shot at the end zone 100%. Idk You could take 1 shot for free. Try and get ellingson in a 1 on 1 throw it to the corner where it cant be picked.

Rose thus far has been our best cfl vet pick up. Gaitor had a good one too.

Id say edm has a better then expected front 7 for the injuries they have. I still dont think that secondary is good.

The Ol had moments of struggle. Couture gave up a particularly bad OLAY! block. But over all the pocket was better then harris had. Nichols often had enough time to get indecisive. Lucky is a monster in the making.

Lapo was conservative, and at times just bad. Bad play design, bad play call, bad adjustments. A couple of those play calls were enraging.

I cant listen to it again. I wont. Not in any part or form. Id rather listen to pederson or suitor slurp the riders. Or to ford and black talk about that burger. Id rather listen to them all noisily eat that burger. Also the worst anthem ive ever seen at a bomber game. The dude was mumbling every couple of lines behind her vocals. Like he only knew 4 or 5 lines total. WTF soo bad.

We won. But Harris wasnt good enough. And fenner wasnt good enough. And nichols, and jefferson. Winning doesnt excuse that. Its true, but with the game on the line you have to have the poise to step up into the pocket. Nichols needs to refind that.

Both. Some times plop and nichols complement each other some times they make things worse multiplicatively. Imo its plops job to adjust and compensate for nichols. And not nichols job to compensate for plop.

Nichols put up a huge eff performance. Unfortunately its hard to win games in the cfl completing 5 passes in a half. If this was US football, he would have had a great game. But it isnt. Not just safe, all too often terrible play calls. The reverse on 2nd and inches, the awful designed inside run flip pass junk etc.

This happens every game every year. Our offense disappears for a quarter to a half. QBs arent pitchers in baseball. They dont get records. Whats Fluties record? Damon allens? Moons? Its a team game. Winning doesnt excuse bad play. We let loffler walk in the off season because he wasnt good enough but what was the teams record in games he started? Irrelevant is what it was. That is a terrible excuse to accept mediocrity. How many grey cups did milt win? Does that change his status? He can be the no1 on a team that makes him the no1. Again win loss isnt a qb stat. its a team stat. He isnt ready to be the no1 qb on a team expected to be in the grey cup right now. He didnt show any progression in pre season. If he had taken a step forward you could argue it, but yeah cant just name streveler no1 and think we can contend.
