Quite honestly there's no reason to think Willy would have played as well as Nichols did tonight but Nichols really didn't play all that well either.

Looking forward to seeing him continue with this momentum, but the search for a QB is still on and I'm certainly not getting rid of Willy.

Pretty much. But unless a massive rash of injures come up around the league all we could do is cut willy for the cap savings. Short of bringing in another vet and a few more wins by nichols i dont see that happening any time soon.

Willy might have thrown the game away, he might have choked. Who knows. But he beat hammer and that D is better then edmonton. I wonder how much of our OL play was our guys, and how much was the worst pass rush in the cfl.

I said that Willy scored multiple touchdowns against Hamilton, but I realize now that he didn't. So yeah Nichols did something Willy hasn't, scored two offensive touchdowns in a single game.

Do you honestly think that we score 30 points tonight with Drew Willy starting?

With that ol yeah. But maybe chemistry needed a shake up. But the production is in huge part to the ol and harris more then nichols. He could have easily had a couple picks.

Remember hamiltons D is much better then edmonton, and with willy we put 26 on them.

They  could have if some one on the coaching staff would have looked at the roster realistically and predicted the inevitable failure of the Natl. depth on the O-line.

bond wasnt healthy earlier in the year though his coming in and hardick sliding over was huge.

Medlock put up those points because our offense drove the ball something that Willy wasn't doing. Longest field goal was 42 yards.

No doubt that it would've been to have better red zone production, but I was still happy with our offensive performance. I can't say I'm really sure what you're arguing.

willy did drive the ball just not consistently and not for scores. Our offense drove, with a heavy heavy dose of harris behind a very good ol.

nichols didnt score more points then willy. Our offense scored more then any game previously but with running and kicking. Willy lost by 4 to edm with 22 yards from harris and poor ol play. 3 or 4 sacks and 2 fumbles.

No our offense put up two touchdowns, not to mention that all of our points aside from the last FG were on hard earned drives. No starting at the Esks 30 yard line.

we had decent field position a bunch of times especially in the first half when we really played well. Our offense put it up, 100 yards rushing in the first half but medlock still put up all those points. we werent kicking 55 yard fgs either. our red zone production wasnt strong. we should have put up 50 easily.

Nichols scored more points tonight than Willy has in any single game all season.

Willy managed to score multiple touchdowns in a game ONCE all year and that's because of Masoli coughing up the ball like no tomorrow. He's been god awful, aside from Toronto & Montreal, I would take TWO Quarterbacks on every team in the CFL over Willy based strictly on their 2016 performance.

nichols put up 1 td. medlock put up 17 points

  7. 3rd star andrew harris. Huge production, especially in the first half. If we had kept feeding him the game wouldnt have been soo close.

2nd star Matt nichols. Got rid of the ball, drove for 2 tds. Played really well.

1st star frederick terrence. He pick really put momentum on our side with that game saving pick. He and loffler had massive games in a banged up secondary.

happy honker Travis bond. Best our OL has played. Sure edmonton hasnt had a good pass rush all year but our OL hasnt looked that good in ages.

For the record I'll be the first to admit that willy has sucked this year but.... 3 American OL certainly makes a difference. Bond was a beast out there. Harris running for over 100 plus yards shows you the OL does make a huge difference

100 yards + on some 7 yards per carry in the first half alone. He was beasting.

If anyone doesn't think that the 3 import OL didn't make a huge difference you are fooling yourself.  It's no coincidence Harris had his best game running.

Thats true, but edmonton is also dead last in sacks in the cfl. But i am cautiously optimistic this core of guys can keep it going moving forward.

  10. Well, he did a great job of getting rid of the ball quickly. And ate a sack where he easily could have tried to force some thing. We scored 2 tds in the red zone, but really kicked far too many FGs. Made a lot of good decisions, only forced the ball a couple times. Missed a couple guys but was very effective and drove the field. Some how we still really lacked production in the 3rd quarter.

He didnt get a ton of help from plops play calling. A lot of the old hat calls. The OL played a monster game though. Best of the whole year. We seem to have found our starting OL. Though edmonton is dead last in qb sacks in the cfl. The D didnt rack up the turn overs, but a few guys came up with some huge plays and played solid till we went to prevent.

The question is, if anyone else was the GM of Edmonton at the time, would the outcome be the same?  That is, was he forced, or whoever would have been GM, have been forced to do it?  If he had a choice, then for sure, that's a stupid thing to do. Unfortunately none of us know what happened behind closed doors.

In any case I doubt he'd be coming here anyway so this whole point is moot.  Or moo if you're name is Joey.

Edit: well I guess he didn't get nothing for Ray. He got Jyles, Shaw and the no 2 pick. Still not a great trade.

yeah thats some thing none of us will ever know. did the pick turn into any one?

I'd be somewhat surprised if this isn't a massive ass wooping tonight. MOS will be around for a while longer

Usually a big change shakes up a team and gets more out of them for a game maybe two.
