Talk about hockey promotions in a hockey? market.

As Canadians, we love our hockey. Something that translates to hockey tickets being in high demand all across the country, especially in cities with an NHL team. However, this isn't the case for a number of teams in the United States, which means that fans in markets where hockey is less popular tend to score incredible deals on tickets.
Take for example this holiday promotion being offered up by the Florida Panthers.
For the price of just $99, fans get two tickets to THREE games, two t-shirts, one autographed puck, a voucher for a post-game photo on-ice, two tickets to an amusement park, and presumably a 20 percent share in the team.

Remember Lapo having us kick a FG from the 1 yd line, a few times....

Eklund is never right, the Only team he is connected to is Philly and even then he's wrong 90 percent of the time. All Eklund rumors should probably not be posted unless someone more credible has posted them too.
 
I do see Hamonic ending up here tho, I really do... We don't need 3 Offensive D men, we need a shut down type, a d man who plays d  first, doesn't hurt that he's from here pretty much and doesn't hurt that he's a great guy who gives back big time. My guess is Hamonic will eventually be a JET.
 
The Tampa rumor is interesting since they do have a ton of young top 6 guys.. Drouin being one, Kucherov,Palat even... lots more actually. They would be a team to talk too, I could see Enstrom being shopped to Tampa for a top 6 guy... and then Myers going to NYI for Hamonic.
 
The Buff to Boston stuff has been talked about for ages now, It's Boston or Philly all the time... If something was gonna happen, it would have by now and no way in hell do i want Loui Friggin Eriksson as the center piece for a Buff deal... Boston adds, a bunch. 

I would not trade trouba for Hamonic straight up. Younger and cheaper (for now). With more high end upside. Sure he might not make it but it's too valuable give up on.

It will allow Petan to play with better line mates...

It's mostly a good idea. Sounds exciting, but sure is tough to pick a team and include one from every team.
The part I don't like? $1 million will be divided amongst the winning team. Like really? 10-11 players will split it?
Give the damn money to 4 charities, one for each division.

Buff or Myers for Hamonic. I'd do it. St Malo boy. Do it.

Supposedly he wants to be closer to home but Edmonton Journal repeats oilers are front runners. Lawless says Wpg mentioned first in Dreger tweet not an accident.
When a local boy that good wants to come home you make the deal.

Copp played well and has played well most games this year....he deserves more ice time than he is seeing.
I've siad all along, Ladd is easier to replace than Buff.

Ladd is a top 30 LW when he's on his game... he's not elite... he's not a game changer... when I think elite I think guys who can change a game with one play... Ladds not that guy. Wheeler would be that guy for us or Buff but.... don't think I'd even consider them to be elite.
Crosby. Ovi. P Kane. Toews. Stamkos. McDavid in a few years.... Tavares.... these are examples of elite players. I don't think I can put any jet in that type of group. Jets don't have any what I'd call superstars... Ehlers has potential to be one... maybe Connor and Scheif too but... right now the Jets really don't have that big time franchise player... they aren't built that way tho

Its what winnipeggers have. Not the teams, the fan bases.

Fro is far from the reason we are struggling.
 
Scheif, Ehlers, Burmi, Lowry, Copp and Petan are all very young and I would much rather see them learn now rather than later.....
A couple of wins and this forum will look completely different.

Name me one D man that has played well or consistent this year.....I know, you can't. Charlie Huddy is not the problem.
If Myers had a mean streak, he would be a Norris candidate.......he doesn't.
If Buff played the way he did last year during the injuries, he would be a Norris candidate....he isn't.
Trouba, Enstrom and Stuart are playing horrible and Chiarot doesn't deserve to dress the way he is playing.
Ladd is hurt, Scheif is in a funk, we have a LOT of young players finding their way in the big league and our 4th line gets 5 minutes a game.
The only way to get better is to go back to the way they were playing last year and win the little battles first, then, go from there.
Trading players for the sake of a trade is a desperation move and I highly doubt Chevy will do it.

LOL. every team goes through stretches of the season where they struggle, Jets are doing it now. It is what it is. It's hockey, no team wins every game... and if the season ended today the Jets would be in the playoffs... Need to step back from the ledge and realize that this year might in fact be one of those one steps back to take 2 or 3 steps forward next year type of years..

Eventually some of these guys might get dealt, but not all of them that's for sure. 
 
Stuart seems to be the fans whipping boy but he hasn't been nearly as bad as trouba or chiarot . 

Little Wheeler and Scheif are guys who show up every game. Ehlers is a young kid with tons of potential. Trouba has regressed but still young... Lowry looks like he's skating in quicksand... he's having a sophomore slump for sure but young.... Copp Petan have skills... not being played enough tho. The team has some holes for sure... big ones actually... but always figured one step back this year

Bettman is a puppet for the owners and I shouldn't say owners because there is a group of more powerful owners that get things done. If you think the owner's (on whole) are interested in anything but making a buck, I hae a bridge in Lockport to sell you. If Bettman created or did/does anything, it is because he is told to do so.

And there it is.It is ALL about the money, not about the game. The Americans came in, stole our Cup, and bastardized the game with expansion and what-not...for the money.
Exhorbidant salaries and overpriced tickets, is what we the fans got in return.
Yeah, you want to talk about an "old boys club"?, get Bettman to introduce you.

When Bettman took over the first thing he said was that salaries could go up. What commish says that? From NYR and for the next 10-12 years afterwards you won the cup because you spent more then the other guy. Canadian teams really had no chance. We had to sit there and suffer. Even Montreal fans stopped going to the games.
 
Now it did not start with Bettman, it started with Ziegler. Canadians had to suffer for years knowing the American teams were just going to own the cup for a decade until salary cap came in.
 
Is the NHL better today? Certainly its got more pop to it and with Rogers hoggin the rights they've turned it into a religion with deities and demigods.
 
Salaries and ticket prices - whats the percent increase? 400%?
