  1. Just like how in previous years, opponents were the beneficiaries of the Bombers being either a terrible team or a collapsing one. Good teams make sure to beat inferior opponents. The 2017 Blue Bombers have done that very consistently, despite their own struggles.
  2. That isn't true, as evidenced by the team's record. Bend but don't break works with a capable offense, which the Bombers have - in spades. I wouldn't say Reilly was off. He did still throw for 300+ yards. As for Bowman, I don't think he's anywhere close to 100%, as he's been mostly unnoticeable since returning from injury.
  3. What I don't understand is why he won't post the winning lottery numbers.
  4. Pretty solid win last night despite a very slow start and some very uncharacteristic kicking by Medlock. That late first half TD was pretty huge in hindsight. Adams' TD was absolutely gorgeous, and he cracked the 1,000 yard plateau last night. Randle's pick six to seal the deal was a thing of beauty.
  5. Let's not forget Criner, who tripped on his route and missed an easy reception and then coughed up the ball so badly he looked he was playing hot potato with it. To paraphrase Larry Burns: the RedBlacks in the 4th quarter fell apart like a Chinese motorcycle.
  6. Uh, the Riders are still 4th because the Eskimos haven't played yet this week. (https://www.cfl.ca/standings/) And we already know what the Bombers are made of: a team capable of easily beating a third string QB.
  7. Ditto. This one's going to go down to the wire, IMO.
  8. One hell of a choke job by the RedBlacks tonight. That Criner fumble was embarrassing. However, the Riders were pretty much flaming turds for three quarters. Ugly game despite the win.
  9. Needless to say, Carmichael won't be missed. Unless you enjoy watching a DB get burned and then swearing at your TV/in your seat.
  10. http://3downnation.com/2017/09/28/bears-woods-released-alouettes-reporting-safety-violations-union/ What a complete dumpster fire in Montreal these days.
  11. He does realize he has an additional defender to worry about, too... right...? For a guy who mostly blew goats in the NFL, he's in for a rude awakening if he thinks it'll be a cakewalk up here.
  12. What an absolute stud. Leading the league in QUAR by a healthy margin at 90.2 (Reilly is second at 84.1).
  13. I'm all for getting the crowd amped up but some variety would be nice. It's pretty much the same two phrases every damned game from whoever that guy is. And Caroline Hunter is awful, especially when she interrupts the head referee while he's trying to announce an infraction, talking about some sponsor or whatnot. Piss poor. Needless to say, I think the Bombers could do much better than the current duo.
  14. For sure. He was a terrible casting choice and did a poor, poor job as Lex Luthor.

  16. I also don't see anyone in that thread comparing him to Waggoner or declaring him a bust, either.
  17. This game is reminding me a bit of last season's home tilt vs. the Ti-Cats, only it's against an even more unproven third string QB.
  18. And nobody agrees with anything you've said. I'll let the consensus in this thread make my case, the same way I'll trust the judgement of a proven CFL GM over some know-it-all fan.
  19. When you make the claim Ekakitie is a bust and "most people here" didn't like the pick, you come across as a know-it-all. You've yet to make one logical argument for your opinion. And you're basically all over the map now trying to vainly justify your baseless claims, accusing others of revising history. Comical.
  20. Duane Forde. And the three other CFL teams who worked him out. https://www.cfl.ca/2015/05/19/prospects-up-for-grabs-in-cfl-supplemental-draft/ http://3downnation.com/2015/05/19/waggoner-set-to-become-3rd-generation-cfler-thanks-to-moms-twitter/
  21. Well, the difference is Waggoner was a supplemental pick and then retired after two seasons. Putting Ekakitie in the same category after less than a season is poor form on your part and demonstrates a glaring lack of understanding or patience. And you're right: no GM or his moves are perfect. I pretty much said that already in a reply you quoted but basically ignored, and then went on with your "he's a bust" narrative while repeatedly comparing him to Waggoner, albeit erroneously. And then you resort to the tired and inaccurate "blue and gold goggles" comment, which shows you lack the ability to have a rational discussion about any of this. All you keep doing is making false claims and deflecting, when others here have already refuted what you've said in a rational and objective way.
  22. My reaction when a fan on a forum claims to know more than the general manager of a pro football team:
