  1. And I have absolute faith in this team NOT making the playoffs. Look at their schedule for the balance of the year. They will be hard pressed to win more than 3 or 4 games over that stretch. Don't see how you can say they can turn it around given what we have seen so far. They have not beat any of the top teams - not even close and the meat of their schedule starts next week in Calgary where they will get absolutely killed.
  2. What worries me other than the Bomber defense is the balance of our schedule. We have Cal, Sask, Sask, Mtl, Edm, Ottawa , Sask again , Cal and then Edm. I see us winning 2-3 at the best of the remaining games. not going to beat Calgary or Edmonton in my opinion and with 3 games against the Riders we might win 1 or 2 at the most.
  3. The scary part is that Calgary and Edmonton are better than Ottawa. We will have problems splitting with the Riders over the Labor Day back to backs. Calgary will kill us next week.
  4. Well you might not want to consider Harris a star but he is light years ahead of Nichols IMHO - across the board too!
  5. Richie Hall is here for the balance of the year. If the Bombers make the playoffs they will be one and done. However after losing tonight and losing next in Calgary and then maybe splitting with the Riders the Bombers may be hard pressed to make the playoffs. Bomber D Backs are being eaten alive tonight and the Bomber offense is not helping.
  6. I don't quite see it this way. Ottawa has a great short passing attack and given the Bombers DB's play off and soft I think Harris will have a 300-400 yard game. I believe that Nichols will bounce back and have a good game but not sure if that will be enough. I am projecting a close game decided in the 4th quarter.
  7. Interesting I would have thought that would be his landing spot. I doubt Wally will even consider him and I think Ottawa will not be interested so that just leaves Toronto. Or maybe no home for him period.
  8. According to the folks over at RiderFans.com (or at least one of the admin types) Thigpen suspension is a temp thing etc.
  9. I disagree - I believe that Harris can handle the pressure and has a good receiving corps to throw to. He lives on the short to intermediate passing game and if the Bombers play off their receivers Harris will kill them. the Ottawa OL is also pretty good. I see this as a very close game. Nichols has to be on his game for us to win.
  10. Yes but it is due to the law of supply and demand. The Riders go though so many players during the year that new bodies are always coming and going hence the need to continue to purchase jersey's. If i were a rider fan I would buy a game jersey and on the back just put a big "?". That way I would not have to continue to buy new ones during the season!
  11. Amen! This X "infinity" Mr. Carter can apply his trade anywhere else but here IMHO. Will be interesting to hear what comes out of the Chris Jones presser that should take place in about 30 minutes or so in Regina.
  12. Mookie!!!! Please NO!!!!! - Keep him as far away for Winnipeg as possible. Maybe he can find a home playing in Russia or China!
  13. The thing that amazes me is how Calgary is able to bring in impact players, year or year. If you want to beat them or at least stay in the game you have to play error free ball - all game long. Half the players that started tonight for the Stamps were either new or year 2 players - they just seem to have an organization that can bring in impact players year over year.
  14. How dare you imply that McMahon Stadium is not state of the art. You miss the point - McMahon is a vintage (1950's) Calgary landmark. I love my season tickets (business write off and I give them away) And Amen! I would love to see something new in Calgary but at my advanced age I doubt I will see it in my life time (after all I am 60 Now). I make it back to the Peg a couple of times a year and always time it to catch a game at IGF and what a treat it is to be there.
  15. I am think 3-2. Which would be good IMHO.
  16. Very hard to win back to back however i think we have a great chance to do so as long as we do not shoot ourselves in the foot etc. Just need to play error free ball and hopefully our defense can play at the level they did in Toronto.
  17. Wow Turn up the lights this one is done like dinner. Calgary seems to always find the players year in year out. What happens in the playoffs maybe different but this Calgary team seems to be heads above any of the rest.
  18. just back home (I live in Calgary) and turned on the game. Looks a lot like last week. Wonder how the Bombers will screw the pooch in the second half? The last few minutes did not give me much comfort.
  19. my grandmother can cover better than the bombers and she passed away 30 years ago!
  20. Toronto defense at times can really crank it up. Our Richie Hall defense? Another story. If the Bombers want to pull out a win it will be up to the offense to pull it out.
  21. All too True - tired of hearing how good/great the bombers look - just win baby that's all that counts. Everything else is just jibber jabber - and whether folks like love or hate the riders they appear to be on the upswing while the jury is still out on the Bombers. They need to at least split with Toronto to stay in the hunt. Not sold on the Bomber Defense by any stretch at this point in time.
  22. Got to admit, the Riders may be a lot better than we thought. Heck their defense even makes Sam Hurl look acceptable. As much as I hate to say it at the moment the weakest team in the West lives in the Peg. If the Bombers can not at least split with the Argos I think we are in for a very long season. Hats off to the Riders they laid a smack-down on the Cats!
  23. Hamilton big in this one. Doubt it will be very close.
  24. That's how I see it. Guy can run hot and cold in the same quarter. Just not consistent from game to game - season to season etc.
