I am still thinking that Eli is going to step up soon once the rust is off and he is confident in his injury recovery and become a fixture on the O-line for time to come.

In the coach's show MOS said Eli was not in football shape and needed to work for quite a bit. He had NFL buzz before so I think everyone likes his potential. I know I was excited especially after losing 2 good young guys. Eli previously quit football so there is some question marks about will he be willing to stick it out on PR and all that but who knows the inner motivations? Its the so many moving parts that makes CFL football so interesting.

I would hope he didn't get too big of a confidence boost in the fact that the Riders "opted" to bring him back...they did all they could to land several others, so were relegated to bringing him back or start season with a nobody.

If the season doesn't start well for him/them...and or he gets belted around good a few times in first few games...he will be toast..mentally and physically...

Seems to me that it was his status of last resort causes him to reflect such lack of confidence. I fear that he will get hurt with that attitude., Actually I fear he will get hurt with any attitude. That guy is in a world of trouble.

These opponent O formations, where the RB was supposed to block Jones, always made me laugh.   Ty would always eat their lunch.

I have a 58 jersey from that time period but just cause I couldn't get the 35 that day. I enjoyed watching how that fat behind could move so fast. (typed while sitting in a decidedly wide chair),

Richardson and brandin bryant up the middle would be an insane mix of athleticism and speed in side. This is the big difference in modern athletes imo. The fast guys are way stronger and the big guys are way faster then they used to be.

Richardson is quick but kind of short. Certainly would never get a look at nose tackle in the NFL. Good luck for the Bombers. I got really smiley watching this highlight film but as always remember there is a big gap from even big time college to pro level. I think some of the centers this guy beat were still pulling up when Richardson was passing by. oops I commented too soon. Others already noted Richardson's size.

I recall Dunigan later talking about the sound when he threw the ball that day. But go to the source if you can, pw13.

I must also cop to another error in re-watching the game on youtube. The Argos did get introduced individually at the start of the game, but the part about them walking out slowly one by one with helmets raised is accurate. And Don Wittman said kickoff temperature was -18, windchill hit -24 according to Environment Canada archives. Some sites (Wikipedia for one) said Dunigan's stats were 12 of 29 for 141 yards, but I cannot verify anywhere. The site also said he had a separated shoulder in the same write-up, so take that (in)accuracy for what it is worth.

As for the OV tall boy, re-watching the video of the Grey Cup, you can see an inflatable OV can in the end zone, so I'm guessing that they were a corporate sponsor for the game. I am 99.999% certain that I DO remember the can thrown being a tall boy can, because the Bombers normally served Labatts at their games, but would have bowed to the league sponsor for that game, and the tall boy can was a fairly new fad at that time.

-24 that's all. It seemed a lot colder than that. Everyone was so layered up in my section that people couldn't fit in the row, not like those benches had enough space on a good day.

He did. The 250m was the amount he would finance if the league went 2 or 3 years and needed some help. Hard cash....he's in for about 50-60 million. When the league reaches insolvency he will get the rights to the gambling app that has a value of around 100 million and will be much higher once it is actually operational. Dundon was never buying a football league, he was buying a sports gambling app with the pesky annoyance of a football league attached to it that he would have to fold after awhile.

Now that seems more like a rich guy's move. Like how George Bush II became part of a baseball ownership group so that they could develop the land around the stadium as real estate.

Call me crazy but i think Vince is gonna make XFL work this time around. Dunno why.. I just think it works for some reason. They seem to be taking their time doing things The right way.. Bob stoops as coach for Dallas is a big deal.. The other coach they named was an African American guy. Im not saying the coaches are a big deal but Stoops is a pretty huge name

I hope this stoops guy can throw a tight spiral and locate his target nicely.

If you are selling assets are you making money? He is financing the XFL by selling assets. Assets are finite, and he will only sell so much of his WWE stock where the bulk of his wealth is tied up.

I agree with you. This seems like a ridiculous use of money. Diluting the thing that make you money to sink into something that is so unlikely to make money seems like the kind of thing that will make the kids will start looking up power of attorney on the internet.

forgetting of course that Collaros was absolute ass against the Bombers this year.

Basically the only way they were beating the Bombers if if the Bombers got sloppy with the ball like they did Labour day and Banjo Bowl. Since that time though Nichols got his **** figured out and has avoided the turnovers, so how were the Riders going to win without scores from the D or STs?

We all tried to warn them that relying on your defense to score wasn't conducive to long term success but they just didn't listen.

Swaggerville days proved that I am afraid.
