He's made about $1.6 million since he was drafted (plus some PR money here and there). Chop that in half at least to cover taxes and living expenses, and he's far from set for life. Unless he's got another job or business interests lined up, I think five or six years of making $150-200k would go a long way to padding his savings to help him out after football.

Blaszko and van Gylswyk are also headed to Giants mini camp. I don't begrudge these guys for going, but this is just silly. How does it benefit the Giants to have that many bodies in mini camp? Do they bring in sacrificial lambs to make the guys they drafted feel good about themselves?

I was kinda surprised it wasn't Turner first. Last year was is first year back from his ACL injury and I was hoping he'd get a chance to bounce back (or at least show something in camp).

The Donaldson trade was huge. The Jays have arguably the best third baseman and the best shortstop in baseball. Their right fielder and catcher are easily in the top five at their positions, and their center fielder is probably going to win a gold glove this year. None of their other positions are particularly weak either. They are a very fun team to watch right now.

I've been with TD Insurance since we moved into our new house five years ago. We had used Peace Hills prior to that in our condo, but when we moved and I saw Peace Hills' quote on our new place, I shopped around and TD was FAR cheaper. They have gone up the past couple years, but from what I've heard so have all the other insurers because of lousy interest rates and a lot of natural disasters. 
 
I got a quote online from the Cooperators earlier this year, and it was slightly less than TD, but not really worth the hassle of switching. I'll see how much TD jacks heir rates later this year when they send me my renewal notice.
 
 
Semi-related, has anyone renewed or gotten a mortgage lately? I just renewed with BMO for five years at 2.15% (variable). That's bananas! They were also offering 2.64% fixed, but I'm not so sure rates will be in a hurry to go back up. Plus I can switch to fixed at any time. Best of both worlds!
