Well, Bob. Patrick Neufeld isn't upset with the changes & is willing to give them a chance. What say you, Bob? He's not upset he wasn't consulted. about it.

I won the Alberta provincial pee wee championship in 2009 as a coach using the Wing T. I had a talented 12 year old qb. I adapted the playbook from the qb being a spinner to doing RPO which he picked up & read beautifully. There was so much misdirection that we easily racked up 300 yards rushing every game. We were extremely lucky as we had 4 outstanding running backs starting. starters. We struggled the first couple of games going 2-3 But then going undefeated the rest of the way for the regular season, playoffs & championship game.

People are so afraid of change. The league needs to adapt. Evolution is about adaptation.

This is a move to be able to play the game in the US where the money is. There's no money in Canada. The economy is in the crapper. People don't have a lot of spending money. A team in Halifax will bring in minimal new revenue. I think a merger is in the works here. If the UFL doesn't fold, the CFL may want to be a part of that, If it folds then they can put new CFL teams in stadiums down there. I saw a picture of the new CFL field fitting perfectly in the domed stadium in St. Louis. Which means it'll fit in almost every UFL stadium except (maybe) the one in Dallas that plays in a baseball stadium. . -

That's the big concern though, they're making these changes which will do nothing to attract new fans, while at the same time upsetting the existing ones. The rules are not and have never been the issue with regard to attracting and retaining fans. The effort that the marketing teams put in, the game day experience (see Winnipeg), and to an extent the results on the field (see Edmonton for the negative side) are what will bring people to the stadiums and drive revenue. Even if these rule changes did drive up the scoring and 50 points became a regular thing, it would do nothing to attract new fans. These changes are short sighted and lazy as far as I'm concerned. -

well they scored but the other guys are leading 2-1

But a day later and like in the end it’s very minor change. Wonder how Many ppl in Toronto purchased seasons with these exciting innovative changes said nobody ever tho. Vince McMahons xfl was innovative tho. The cameras and the angles and the scramble at the start. That was fun changes looking to bring ppl In. The stuff they implemented the avg fan probably doesn’t give the poop about. How does this enhance my football viewing pleasure. These changes are probably a compromise of sorts to not go full American style. It almost seems like a win for traditional cfl fans. Cuz this is basically minor compared to what they could have announced. I would have liked to have been In the room tho when someone suggested that the elimination of missed fg returns will actually make the game more exciting. As TSN play by play dude orgasms loud on Vavals return. Honestly.

This right here and speed here is a senior citizen. Dude gets it tho. You are alright @SpeedFlex27 i don’t get the doom and gloom. 4 downs is next… no it’s not.

In its current form the cfl is only sustainable in Winnipeg and maybe Regina (lots of ppl dressed as green seats since Covid) and nowhere else. That appears to be the reality. I’m not sure how old you are, gonna assume late 30s early 40s… I’m in that range, we need to accept that the cfl can’t survive on us and dad really. You need the young ppl and that appears to be a problem league wide. Even here eventho it appears there are younger ppl there is lots of older ones like you and I are getting. Now do I think this attracts younger ppl? Hell to the no x 1000. Attracting ppl to games is market specific -
It's early, but I don't think Toews looks out of place at all... Certainly still has it on the dot. We'll see how many games he can play.

The biggest issue is that this is clearly just the first step... They'll get people used to this and then move in to the spicier meatballs like the 4th down... -

Whether these changes are going to be good for Canadian football or not will need to be seen. Sometimes you just need to stir things up. The thing that bothers me though is they announced these major changes right in the most important time of the season so all the talk is flowing away from the last 1/4 of the season when all thought should be on playoff possibilities. Would have been a lot more effective to make this announcement in the off season and good or bad would get people talking about the game. -
he had an excellent, maybe his best game manager play before being hurt. Hogan for sure is a problem, wrs have been one but I think are solid to good now. the ol has been all over the place. As long as kola is in it isn’t gonna be great but it should be good enough. if they’d put Vanterpool back in it’d be better but they won’t.

I’ve worked at places tho where change was implemented without anyone’s knowledge and it ****** **** up and ended up leading to mass quittings and firings. I mean I worked during Covid. Nobody consulted me about masks being needed. Just 1 day. Here’s masks but get your own next shift really. That’s an extreme example Covid but, nobody consulted any of us. there’s other places that actually did ask our opinions, current place appears to respect us. But, most places made changes then asked us about them months later. Hell 1 job I was trained on a system then 2 weeks later we all learned the new system together including my superior -
JT scores on his first shot. Nah but would be cool.

I’d imagine there’s a direct correlation between teams with healthy starting QBs vs teams without in terms of points scored so want more points? Protect the starting QBs. The fact Zach took a non called head shot that has kept him out for 3 weeks and O’Shea had to challenge the call is the problem. The cfl tho is a private league with private owners from community to billionaires. They did consult them. What happens if you consult the players is you get the extremes. Like Rourke yesterday and Arbuckle today saying the exact opposite. The players aren’t gonna be paying for field modifications. Pretty sure Zach ain’t gonna be installing hot tubs on patio levels in the end zones. PS. Wade, install hot tubs on the field level end zone sides now. My friends and I went to a mlb game and they had that and it was pretty cool. Baseball more boring than football tho. Less action. Winnipeg and Sask are making money. The rest aren’t. The players are but the ppl paying them aren’t. No need to consult. I think ppl need to realize us here in Winnipeg, we good we happy but Toronto Montreal bc Alberta more important in terms of demographics. It’s basically like Winnipeg and Regina will always show up but Toronto doesn’t. This is more to appeal to Toronto eventho I personally don’t think it adds any excitement and actually eliminates fg returns almost. -

zachs right that they didn’t change any of the most important parts. but they did just about every thing under that. They have no place to go now but into the critical territory. I bet they had their new stats place do it. which means the info would be worthless lol. Agree, we see far more punts and far less fgs. I don’t think we will see any significant bump in tds. If they really wanted to boost scoring, which we don’t need to, they could formalize new blocking rules. it’s all over the place in terms of enforcement, but far far from the rules currently. -
Vs Sask his last full game. 26 of 37 for 326. 26 completed passes is what Streveler has all season. Zach and Strev have pretty much played in the same amount of games this year. Zach is well over 2000 yards. Strev is just over 1000 yards. It’s night and day. Hell Zach is better at rushing this year even with his 7.9 yard average compared to strevelers 3.5 yd average. I mean. Zach is 100x the qb

Collaros was playing really good football I thought... He just had **** protection and the receivers let him down at times. Also MAYBE Hogan, but I just don't know enough about that stuff to say for sure...
-
It’s official. They see lambert as a winger and not a center.
-
Hey 9 completed passes is still a 300% increase over last week.
