  3. Why the roll eyes, Noeller? Bighill has a career as a financial planner. He has a list of clients he has to serve & will be taking on new ones. Now, that he's retired he needs more income so he'd want to ramp that up. Not be a Bomber assistant coach. Some guys don't want to coach. I was a financial planner for IG in the 1980's & it was damned hard work. Lots of long hours, evenings & weekends. I didn't have the connections Bighill has with the CFLPA. I could see him handling a lot of CFL players & coaches money & financial affairs. When I worked at IG in the Investors Building on Broadway, I had the pleasure to know the top rep in Canada named Ted Foreman. I assume he is no longer with us as he was in his 50's back in the mid 80's. Foreman was a former hockey player himself who got a huge break career wise when he was introduced to Bobby Hull after his signing with the Jets in 1972. He became his financial advisor. Hull spread the word & soon NHL & WHA players were calling him for advice. He handled investments & tax advice for all the big NHL players back then. Gretzky, Messier, Hull, Hawerchuk. All kinds of NHL stars. Walking into his office was like visiting a hockey shrine with photos & awards. Almost every photo had an autoghraph with the saying, "To Ted. Thanks for the Big Save!!" The guy was a frigging legend.

  5. Clercius actually has good hands to be honest. He isnt straight line fast but more than adequate speedwise...just not twitchy fast but if we use him the rightway he doesnt need to be a fast twitch kinda guy...We have failed in utilizing hi,....and MCI for that matter as well. I think he would be better served as an inside guy as well as he is hard to take down when he has the ball and has shown he can run thru and over guys getting those gritty dirty yards. Also it's hard to truly gauge a guy when not used much, and when you do use him it's not in the best way for the player

  10. Was anyone really impressed with Clercius last season? Big target but slow as molasses. His hands are okay but nothing special. Not sure about his route running although he just never seemed to be open. I think we can do better. Hogan had him lining up as a wide receiver when he should have been inside where his big body could be used more effectively. He might shine as a slotback. At wideout, I can't see Clercius ever being more than a 25-35 reception guy & maybe 400 yards receiving. Barely enough to make a difference.
  11. I agree that we are probably eyeing a US expansion once Trump is gone. Also agree on Biggie. Winnipeg is his home now, has been for a while and he doing great with IG apparently. His CFL most outstanding defensive player awards with Winnipeg say differently. lol. I'm not surprised at all he went out a Bomber. We set him up for life after football as well.
  12. We have a high draft pick and this is a good draft year, no reason we can't find a way to not have to go 3 NATs. That and we already have some good NAT depth ready to go.
  13. Great to hear. he's from the State of washington as is his wife & family so I thought he may have wanted to return. I sense some big, big changes coming after this season that the CFLPA will be powerless to stop. Once the new field is in existence...
  14. yup...That route would not give us our best roster...
  15. Today
  16. There is an SMS now. Whatever currency you are paid in must fit into a CAD cap amount. That violates nothing. However, the ratio rules can never be worked out. It's against the US law. However, knowing the CFL they would do something stupid and put the teams in Florida and Texas where the taxes would constitute a massive advantage especially for guys making near league mins.
  17. Yes, that & the fact the US teams were paying their players with American dollars. The Canadian dollar in 1995 was similar in value or maybe a little worse so players signing from Canadian teams to American teams got a 40% raise for the same numerical number. I.E: One year deal worth $100,000 Canadian or ! year deal deal worth $100,000 US. Canadian teams didn't stand a chance. I don't how they could make it work today.
  18. He's made a pretty good situation here from what I understand. He does a lot of work with coaching football too. I would be surprised if he leaves anytime soon.
  19. We won't go 3 NAT receivers if we draft properly. Having to do so would be a failure by Walters.
  20. Yea...it's the fly in the ointment of any US expansion. Simply cannot have a league with two different roster building rules. It's why the American expansion teams could throw ridiculous money at the best CFL QBs and build their OLs etc with cheap American beef.
  21. The only way to get around that is to abolish the ratio if the CFL feels that it's future is in the US, Mexico or Europe. Canadians would still play & start but only the best. Unless a player was a ST demon, they'd probably have no chance so most Canadians wouldn't play. So, there may be one or two players on the roster per team.
  22. The Americans would not allow our ratio rules in the USA. Had nothing to do with visas. If the teams of the day wanted Canadian players they could have used them, they just didn't have to abide by the ratio rules of our league because the US wouldn't allow them.
  23. MBB, You heard it first. Booch is making a comeback.
  24. Your last sentence summarizes Chevy’s approach with the public perfectly. I love how some people’s short comings (ie let’s throw people under the bus to deflect away from their own individual accountability and their leadership responsibilities) as being ‘ultra competitive and passionate’. lol. I’ll have to try this at my work and see how it goes.
  25. Chevy interview up on YouTube Maybe interesting to note that when asked if Arniel was back next season, Chevy did not say yes. He didn’t say no but if I’m reading between the lines I’m leaning towards Arniel is not back Said Helle is competitive passionate and emotional and wants to win as does the rest of the core. Said basically the deep dive into what actually happened starts now (That’s discouraging) but said you won’t be talking to lots of teams right now anyways about trades but in a few weeks time…. Says defensively responsible hockey is a mind set and they struggled defensively this past season and he wants to understand why. He’s spoken to the players and was gonna speak to all coaches soon I dunno. Chevy says lots without saying anything
  26. Nasty Nate’s real name wasn’t even Nate. That was and perhaps still is a term used to describe a portion of the population in Canada and more so downtown Winnipeg. Nasty Nates. I didn’t make it up.
  27. not sure what those intangibles are...nice guy..works hard...well I hope they all do if they here...means shat all if u just arent good enough tho.....I dure he...or someone is gonna be one of Osh's boys this yr taking up a vital roster spot for no reason other than he gives Osh a chubber....standard fare here with Osh they said they liked his work outside of his receiving skills or lack there of....and based on what we saw....not sure what they liked I havnt seen a receiver in some time garner the lack of attention when he is out there from defences and even then when he gets the odd ball....does absolutely nothing with it post catch Heck I could go out there and catch 90 percent of balls my way and with needing a new knee and give same results....but also blow up chumps in blocking game...I should sneak on field in camp and run around doing all the right things...working hard AF... maybe run out the water bottles here and there and make the other players happy...with a U.S.M.C tat in full view and give ol Osh a chubber and then we can all mock my old assed talent on the board hahaha

  29. I would have thought most vet posters here would be super offended to have their name put together with Nasty Nate to create a love child.
  30. Group chat with my buddies, I said I'm already pulling for this guy to unseat Brady... Ha ha.
  31. yep he’s too smart to be fast lol
  32. 1 earned modp, 1 default. If it was just his career here, he wouldn’t get a sniff of the hof. lots of guys got rings. His bc career is hof material by it self. That stretch was one of the best by any lber ever.
