Unless you’re getting a top 3 pick and even then it’s debatable but none of these guys except maybe McKenna and that’s a maybe is on the team next season. Jets dealt with injuries and poor signings. Their goalie was out for a month and we had an 11 game losing streak and are 3 points out. We aren’t a bad team. We had a bad few months bu jets since the break are one of the best teams in the league. Since they traded Stanley Schenn and they Pearson they are noticeably quicker and faster and playing at a much higher pace. They just dominated Colorado for 8 of 9 periods. They aren’t that bad. Why aren’t they a cup contender if they get in? With Hellebuyck they certainly are cuz that’s all it takes. Is Colorado a contender? We just dominated them the last 8 of 9 periods we played them. Just get in. Cuz the regular season don’t mean ****. It’s about who is hot and streaking and who has the hot hand. For the jets to get in, a streaking is needed and for that so is a hot Helle. If they miss they will prob get a player 2 years to 3 years away but there are exceptions. I’m thinking I like our future d with Salo and Sasha (he’s coming) Freij is starting to look good also. That’s a solid young group. I’m thinking regardless of draft we looking at center but I think jets might get a bit aggressive this off season and make a trade for a scheif KC Josh Helle aged 2C cuz that’s the window right now. They could call up Yager also just to see if he can be that future 2C but Scott would play him with Nyquist and Toews tho so doomed. Honestly. Are you seeing snap counts differently than what I can find? NFL lists him as only having 3 games played in 2023. Pro football reference has him with 32 ST snaps in those 3 games but then practice roster / reserve list for 2024 and 2025. Sounds like he was just someone they liked having on scout team and was a nice guy to be around

Debbie Downer here. They’re past the point of no return. Worst scenario is they’ll finish just outside of the playoffs negating a high draft pick and continue the illusion of not needing a significant re-tool, just need some slight tweaks. Or as I lower my debbie downer glasses and go all in they surge into the playoffs and win it all. :)

St. Louis has won 4 in a row and are 1 point behind us now. The teams in front are all L1 streaks. Nashville is L2. Teams behind us are w1 w4 w1. It’s just crazy.

They need to win 2 more games than wildcard 2 really. What we want is clean losses for teams in front of us. We can win in OT against anyone but those teams we chasing for WC2, if we play them again needs to be 2 in regulation. Don’t think we play Nashville or LA or Seattle again tho.

Let’s just say, I don’t think Colorado wants the Jets to make it. Cuz that’s looking like round 1 if they do.
