  2. but if the coach is handicapping himself what good is a new GM? I mean you wanna say clean house because after 12 years or whatever it is things are stale a new a direction entirely is warranted sure I'll listen to that, but you can't stick with a coach who refuses to put his best roster on the field when things start falling apart and if you saddle a new gm with that then you're just asking for trouble and said new GM having to fire a coach eventually anyway. start at the bottom and work your way up. players, coordinators, head coach, then GM. That's how you go about assessing the issues.
  3. There's dooming and being realistic. No team in the East looks like world beaters right now, but coming off back-to-back losses and starting your back-up QB... who in their last start threw 3 interceptions and had to have the D/ST provide 3 TDs to sneak out a win at home... doesn't install a ton of confidence to be fair
  4. Based on top 2 guys in league...and our best Lawler has 3 games under 30....3 games over 100....and 4 games between 80 and 100...10 tds Demski has 3 games under 30.....2 games over 100....and 3 games between 80 and 100 ...7 tds Hatcher has 0 games under 30....5 games over 100...and 1 game between 80 and 100....4tds for curiosity Schoen had games of in yards 46....29...75...47...58....2 tds....longest play was 27 yards Mitchell had games of in yards 22...7..22..28..6...0 tds...longest of 21 Case had games of in yards 10...0...1 td...and last yr 0...5...0...no td's....he was kept around why?? Sterns had games of in yards 13...36...26...49..14..72..53..27..50...40,,,4 yds....great for the 4th or 5th option behind 3 legit guys pretty sad and lame...I think 285k for Lawler....whatever we payed Schoen and easing him the yr...like 1 to 2 six game stints to start if need would have been the wiser choice
  5. Yep. I think our best chance is by leaning hard into what our secondary did in the 2nd half of last year. Drop every body, play tight as you can on the bottom and blanket the top. Forget blitzing, save for maybe a couple DB blitzes off the edge if you think you can sneak a guy home. Forget a 40 man front. Forget fielding 2lbers. Get all the DBs on, and drop them into cover. Hell, drop WJ back into cover since he's playing pass lanes any way. Bill bellichick used a 2, 1 and empty front a few times. And it worked very well in limited use. Today is that day. If hamilton isn't gonna run, put dbs out and drop every one. You could put WJ, woodbey, and tony jones on the line and drop them each back for a hand full of snaps in the game. Very good chance to get a pick, or force a throw away.
  6. From his spot on the ground, rolls all the way to the end zone
  7. Imo, it is easier to replace a GM than a HC. Also, the GM is the boss of the HC. The HCs sustained failure to field the best game day rosters for soo long, having lost us GCs, speaks volumes about walters being willing to be Mos boss. If walters isn't able to get his team to do the most basic competitive action, changing coaches won't fix that. In order to fire some one, and remain competitive, you have to have succsession. If we fire walters, and promote Danny, we only need to fill in a scout. If we fire Mos, we have no one on hand to take those reigns and move us forward. i don't see any stellar next man up candidates around the league either. You're basically hoping for a dinwiddie type guy to get fired. Which might not happen at all.
  8. I think HAm matches up really well with our defence and what we try to do...and it's worrisome right now If it becomes a shoot out/track meet...we are done
  9. That's a great point/reminder. You could say that for any position. That's why football is the ultimate team sport. One player falters not only impacts his responsibilities but others as well
  10. You forgot Kola recovering a fumble and running 99 yards for a td. It's not impossible that we make the play-offs if we lose this game, but it becomes very likely if we do. That's why it's a must-win, and not a mathematical elimination game. The worst team in the league is within 2 games of us. Who also happens to be playing BC, 1 game back of us in the west. The other 2 worst teams are playing each other as well. So while we will gain ground on 2 games or hold steady at worst, that will be with the worst teams in the league. If we want to recover this season, we gotta start with this game here. We aren't likely at all to win out, and we aren't going to maybe get back on the right side of the W column next week and control our play off destiny. I think the opposite is true. I don't think we can replicate the out come from our D last week. We've played SSK a ton, it was the home game BJB, we had every intangible headed in our direction to win that game. Vs hamilton, we have'nt played them and when its O vs D, that is a major advantage to the O. They aren't going to run it down our throats, and we aren't going to pressure blm. Man, sucks about Ted. He was such a great, classy guy, football mind, you name it. **** cancer.
  11. He has as many games under 30 yards as he does 100+ yard games, but when he goes off he really goes off. He seems like kind of a **** too. No argument he’s not better than anybody we have though.
  12. exactly....and in the history of footbll...85 percent of time when teams get to this point...it's the HC first...as it cause the least organizational upheaval....its how it goes...Its either clean house...or can coach at end of the season....not mid season....
  13. yeah...i sense that what he saying...and some clamor lets try the guys not on...but he says they no good...yet we havnt seen them for a multi game stretch so we cant really say they not better...but I sure cant be worse...but we will likely never know thomas inefectiveness makes the rest of line suffer....its a tandem unit..Woods played damn good last yr and our defense faltered after he got hurt Adams played just fine this yr...better than KORN..Schmeck and Thomas...but he tales a seay on pine when there is ways to have him and Woods on roster...but we dont J.Jones too...u say he is a ham and egger...hardly true....our best game of yr on defence was a game he played reg reps on defence in rotation You dont know until you know...But Osh refuses to try and find out....just continues trotting out poor choices where it abundantly clear what he is using..and how he using them isnt optimal
  14. If we get no pressure on BLM....he will disect us all night....and with our penchant for coughing up big play and defensive backfield busts...I wish us the best He is better than Old Man Harris...has better receivers....a more well rounded back...and I'd take Milanovich over the SASK OC anyday
  15. Today
  16. Have to minimize the explosion plays and cool it on the turnovers. That being said - we're going to lose the turnover battle 3 to 1 and we're going to give up 3 explosion plays, one of which will be an absolute back-breaker.
  17. Thats the thing,,,everygame is different...has its own different set of circumstances etc...so truly is hard to make a sound determination...same with when team a beats team b...team b bets team c...but team c waxed team a....too many variables Kenny would have stayed for what he basically what we payed him here last...and what he getting in Ham.....we dragged our feet...or whatever it was we were doing...he left...we replaced him basically with more money than he would have cost for a top end guy
  18. So if we're admitting the coach doesn't put the best roster on the field.... why start with the gm? How do we know he's not providing the tools to rebuild an aging roster when the coach won't make the transitions?
  19. oops this is my bad. By this I meant, he was on the roster last year and is still there this year... i think he took a hair cut this year too Last year was Lawler - 280K Schoen - 230K Demski - 225K Wilson, Wolitarksi, Clercius, Wheatfall... all probably making close to min This year it started out as Demski - 225K Schoen - 170K Mitchell - 150K Sterns, Case, Cocoran, Clercius, Wheatfall... all those guys probably right around the minimum. Not sure how Wilson is slotting in here, maybe he is taking p some of that 180K that Lawler and Schoen combined vacated last year There is a source though... it's Ed Tait. He said it was torn, not partially torn. Do you not think that that is an important designation to make? Generally with football you hear 'partially torn ACL' and it is QBs or Linemen... not a WR who has to run up and down the field making constant changes of directions and speed.
  20. I’d agree that Walters should probably be taking more heat than O’Shea. I think part of it is O’Shea is actually doing daily interviews and Walters has said nothing since free agency. Osh is In the spotlight. Kyle be very very very quiet.
  21. so you just hand wave away the fact that the coach isn't using the pieces he has to the best of his ability... to what end? when you start trouble shooting things you don't ignore problems to look for bigger ones. You start by addressing the obvious ones and seeing what that resolves. first problem: put the best roster on the field and see where you are actually at and then you can properly address the other issues. your way is just back asswards.
