Did you read what Booch said? No league is going to have a player they want tied up in issues crossing the border to play in the US when they need him. Birmingham signed him weeks ago so the paperwork should have been done by then. If you're a US immigration lawyer & actually can vouch for what you say then I'll believe you. If you're just a fan then why even argue this point, if you don't know (& probably don't)? To me, it just looks lik another **** up by his advisors. Or... this is what happened when the CFL expanded to the States in 1994. No canadians were allowed to play because the US teams would have had to prove any canadian players were better than Americans as they were taking jobs away from American players. So, not one Canadian was allowed to play on American CFL teams. we know for sure that there are better qbs than Elgersma that are Americans out there.

Who says the agent hasn't been doing that? On one hand you say why isn't this done already but on the other hand you acknowledge it takes time. His situation has been changing so that can affect the process. If he was still with the Packers, it would be a different story but we're talking about the UFL, not the NFL and there's a world of difference. The UFL needs to have $10 million in combined revenue and I don't know if they qualify - the USFL certainly didn't when Dobson tried. He's not trying to get a visa to play in the NFL though. I don't think this is an issue if he was still with the Packers or another NFL team picked him up but it's the UFL we're talking about.

Definitely going to be a different look at next year's provincial Scotties. Kate Cameron's team already split up... Should be interesting to see who all joins forces. Assuming Kerri still gets her Team Canada spot next year because 3/4 of the main crew are staying together...

yeah....gotta say it seems all around he getting some bad guidance with some people in his camp who are not too competent....a lot of the groundwork should have already been done...why do you think pretty much every Canadian in the NCAA who gets on either a NFL roster or on a PR hasnt had to come to Canada with tail between their legs due to not being able to legally earn a paycheque down there

His agent should take care of that. That all takes time. You think once he makes a team that the paperwork starts? Good luck with that.

Which is why I don't understand why we never went after Taylor Powell & allowed Edmonton to sign him. Zach will be 38 this season & Cody Fajardo is 34. Why we couldn't have matched what Edmonton was paying or beat it is a real head scratcher. Why did we completely put aside qb development or improvemnet of the position because we're waiting for some diva qb who thinks he's good enough to play in the NFL after 2 years of trying? Life should have gone on. Except for Walters. He;s put the entire team on hold hoping Elgersma signs here & it hasn't happened. He blown it big time with Powell signing in Edmonton. In essence, the Bombers have done nothing because they're hoping Elgersma decides to come here. They've conceded the QB 2 position just waiting for him. So, now we have the worst QB room in the CFLn waiting for a guy who may never take a snap here. If he does sign, the moment his rookie contract is up he'll bolt to a CFL team in Southern Ontario or continue his NFL quest.

Another opportunity to catch up instead its another nail.

11 game losing streak will do that. If only they played .500 then it be a whole different story. Maybe not in the first round but playoff appearance is still a win in my books.

I don’t care as much this year about the jets as I usually do. I didn’t care for the signing of the washed vets this off season. Toews would be an ok 3 or 4 guy now tho but not a 2 c. But I’ll admit since the break they have been playing so much better.

And how is he supposed to get a work visa, just go ask for one or pick one of the visa tree? Elgersma has to provide documentation, including contracts, in order to qualify and he hasn't had that until now. Even with a contract (as seen by the Dobson situation), it's not a guarantee he'll get one.

The biggest loss there is Carruthers. I'd thought he was staying on as a coach, but I guess not. Any team worth their salt will pay him any amount of money to come coach. He's the best in the game right now.

yup...I hope he has a season of all seasons and then walks away, and some run away games where we can get QB2 whoever that is some legit reps And yeah...the concussion thing is still there...and is cumulative in their affect...I truly believe that Edm game where Brown did the big comeback that he got scrambled and has been a fraction of himself ever since....and got his noodle rocked a couple other times too since...some were very insignificant in how it happed too....cause his on-field awareness and ability to process ever since has been horrible...he's had a few moments of what looked to be the old ZC but that was more a result of everything just going right and clicking moreso than him grabbin the team by the collar and dragging them to the win... He plays panicked way too much now, and more times than not is easily goaded into errors, and just looks confused
