  1. Past hour
  2. The CFLPA got final say on how last years money was allocated. It went to increasing player benefits etc, which are still included in the SMS but are not available directly for teams to allocate individually to players. So yes technically the SMS went up last year but the entirety was allocated already and therefore not usable to increase salaries.
  3. Today
  4. I consider him a longshot as well. I mean realistically only a few guys a years from the 30 or so new guys we bring to camp make it.
  5. That tracks, basically everything he says and does is the opposite of reality.
  6. "Operations" salary cap not going anywhere....
  7. We're talking college here.he had 4 years to adapt & change his game as he needed tio do. As wbbfan says, teams bring these guys in & most fail because they've been failing all along. I guess he's worth a look see.
  8. The salary cap increased $412,365 for the 2025 season. The previously negotiated salary cap of $5,650,000 in the CBA was increased to $6,062,365. The salary for 2026 has increased by $218,149 to $6,280,514. That's an increase of over $630,000 dolars over the original negotiated $5.75 million salary cap in the CBA https://www.sportsnet.ca/cfl/article/cfl-salary-cap-rises-again-following-revenue-growth-in-2025/
  9. Condell would be familiar with White, that's for sure.
  10. I think saying that U Sports would be more legitimate is an insult to every player who has ever played Canadian university football. How can any fan say that a Canadian kid as a qb making a PR on an NFL team would make U Sports more legit? Look at the talent it has given the CFL since the 1930's. There have been many, many legendary players. My son never played U Sports but he did play university football at SFU which was a Canadian based NCAA team on the Lower Mainland at the time. So, certainly there's a feeling of respect & a kindred spirit there between the 2 teams. There were players at UBC who could have driven over from West Van to the Burnaby, practice field, walked on & instantly made that team. Personally, based on coaching & talent when my son was there from 2012-15, had the Schrum Bowl still have been played, SFU would have got its ass handed to it.
  11. @wbbfan is correct. We currently have Wilson and Demski and not much else at receiver.
  12. We could certainly use a big down field threat. But we also have such a glaring need that we can’t really be picky out side of quality. Whites fit with in the type of passing game we will run would be great as well. A yac guy who can catch and run turning high percentage passes into first downs. It would also allow demski to move away from over the middle and hand off stuff.
  13. being a tweener definitely impacted his use at michigan. They used him as a jack, not a regular de
  14. There was no 400k increase to SMS last year.
  15. Because it's very possible his physical size kept him out of the lineup, or that he has physical attributes that don't lend well to 4 down football but might translate well to our game. However, he is someone that would probably be a project.
  16. Paging Dr. Kevin Cheveldayoff we have a situation in the OR room stat.
  17. Hellebuyck is the least of our concerns. Our defending is porous and we can’t score with any level of consistency. We also had some crap bounces last night, but the Wings were just flat out better.
  18. Well in all fairness ,the whole team in front of him isn't the same.
  19. Methinks you missed the point and took that comment way more negatively than intended
  20. Paddy the Baddy took a beating last night, a little less dancing and better defense should be part of his training schedule. His face is going to hurt for a while
  21. It takes time to recover from surgery. He may have been rushed back.
  22. "Coach Jones, Coach Jones..... It's Cleveland calling.... Coach???? Why is he running away???"
  23. From the comments Jefferson made to the media there wasn'tn much of a raise, if any. It's similar to last year. That's the DC & DLC lost as to what to do with him. Which is why I wished we actually went out & found an experienced DLC instead of gifting it to Thomas. We have some serious work to do to rebuild that DL. Is Younger this great young DC & a Head Coach in waiting? Not convinced.
  24. Being a qb coach really helped the transition. He loves helping kids get to the next level at high school. A lot of his guys have got scholarships. The hamstring injury was serious. He didn't have surgery because the team doctor at SFU misdiagnosed the injury. If he had surgery, he might have recovered to play again at 100%. Maybe he would have redshirted. It happened in January 2015 going into his senior year so he'd have had 9 months to recover. He'd have missed spring camp only. It was a hard thing for him to go through. Not being able to run at full speed.
  25. You just slapped every Canadian who has played CIAU, CIS or U Sports the past 70 years. As if, having some random Canadian qb "making it" onto a PR or even 3rd string on a roster (but will never actually play in the NFL on merit) suddenly legitimizes everything these players have/will accomplish. BTW, tell Russ Jackson or Joe Poplawski they were never legitimate players.
