  1. Past hour
  2. Jake wasnt reason...sole reason for sure...but tostering was...and he's part of that...we were lean on dline 1st time T.O beat us and our front was gassed by 4th quarter Mtl...we dressed...and played 5 guys who had no business dressing and were useless....and we had able bodies stand on sidelines and not take a snap...Why you think BOLO left us...He's sure look good in tandem with Clercius right about now Last yr...piss poor planning....some questionable again roster decisions...then sticking with ZC when he couldnt throw...even said so himself...then proceeded to throw long passes and ignore the MOP/MOC and ended up getting ass hannded to us in an embarrasing fashion If this was the NFL the OC and HC would have been canned shortly after the dust settled...regardless of what they did in the past...Actuall some organization's in Canada...current and definately in past would have as well....Your past accomplishments as currency only last so long
  3. Maybe my brain isn't working this morning but who is on the IR? Vaughters is as big as any of them and he's starting. That's what they did. Just not showed the most in the preseason games. There was a whole camp that most of us have no idea what happened at because there is no one to report on it. 2nd year guy Wheatfall beat out Mitchell and White to make the active roster. Sterns beat out Mitchell and White to make the active roster. Reports are he has chemistry with Zach. Hall made a few catches in a preseason game. So what?
  4. WHY not whatever receiver showed the most...vet...rooike...2nd yr guy...Guy that showed the most...and had chemistry with ZC...they Cut...Hall....an prospect too with size and skill set I recall White making a ton of impact plays...clutch ones too....Same with Mitchell...originally....Sterns?...I have no recall of anything outstanding...and I watch a lot of film....a ton of film....and by film not TSN tv video
  5. Yup. I'm a critic of Osh's roster decisions, and I think Jake should have retired/been released two seasons ago. But, if anyone thinks that JT is the reason we lost 3 Grey Cups, or that a DT's impact on the game is so great it determines championships (Aaron Donald maybe), you're off base. We lost those games primarily because our star players - marquee star QB primarily - came up short. And, because we made some dumb coaching decisions in game vs only in setting the roster (let's let our star QB, who has been playing poorly, continue in the game when a finger on his throwing hand has almost been amputated). Baffling.
  6. We used all our roster flexibility to put every backup possible at LBer and DB. And to start 3 American ol. Maybe its a decent chance this doesn't end up biting us in the butt. But boy is it risky, especially for the game 1 roster. Just 1 or 2 injuries for the game at positions other than DB/Lber would have us cooked.
  7. Yeah, and with the cap space sunk cost fallacy shouldn't be too strong. I think we are all just disappointed that of our 3 "big" free agent splashes, 1 is on the IR and 2 are on the PR/scratched.
  8. Your memories and recall might not make the best scouting report.

  10. I get the frustration but the signing bonuses are a sunk cost no matter who plays now. Mitchell got 63K upfront, 148K overall, so $85K for the season, ~$4.7K per game JJones got 15K upfront, 120.5K overall, so $105K for the season, ~$5.8K per game. It's game 1, so $10.5K to sit. *numbers from 3downnation so who knows if accurate Sorry. I'm an accountant. FWIW I really want to see JJones play and would prefer him on the roster. Hope he gets in soon. Mitchell it sucks to burn the bonus money but whichever of the 3 vet receivers brought in showed the most in camp gets to play. Overall much better depth position than last year at receiver and LB.
  11. The thing is ... Virtually everyone in here is in agreement about how the roster is being deployed. If you're the only person saying "this is fine..." then maybe it's you...?
  12. Coaches coach better same thing happens. Before last year, we played it pretty close down to the wire and came up short. Coaching would've made a bigger difference in those years. Last year was such a mess of poor play and coaching, but we should've been able to beat up on a team QBd by arbuckle.
  13. Yes, yes they are.
  14. veteran insurance is nice...when that insurance is capable....and you dont need an overload of it either...you need the new breed to work through games and get experience and confidence You get none of that in practice....it's rare to show anything and running drills in skelly aint gonna replicate what a guy can...or cant do under live fire
  15. of those stats tho....Mitchell and White Jr have made impact plays...garner attention...Sterns?....I recall zero impact he has ever made other than pedestrian plays...I do recall a lot of drops...shying away from traffic to not make a catch....
  16. I'm assuming it is because they are starting "veteran insurance" and not giving guys who are already at the same level or higher a chance to shine.
  17. WELL...we chose not to dress any actual back-ups...we had several on PR....so is that a lack of depth...or a lack of roster judgement?? Same with this yr...we have a guy on the PR....with experience....who can play ST...but we choose to roster a raw rookie who to be honest.....has the least skillset of any receiver we have kept.....while we rostered 17 LB'S/DB's....
  18. Bailey for Kornelson would give an extra pass rusher which makes sense since we have 2 30+ DEs. Cobb for say Novak would mean we have 2 back up receivers which seems prudent. But what do I know, I'm just a fan on a message board. I should just shut up and listen to The Leader.
  19. FWIW....Sterns, Mitchell and White are all within about 3 yards per game average in their CFL careers. So fair to say nearly exact same level of production in 23, 32 (White) and 45 CFL games. IMO keep/roster the guy the QB's want/mesh with and who fits the offense....which we haven't seen yet with Hogan scheming and calling the plays.
  20. Tyson Philpot
  21. This is a big improvement on WR depth from last year where WR injuries meant that Streveler was out there playing WR
  22. I’m on a football discussion forum discussing football and you’re on a football discussion forum discussing how people choose to discuss football. Who do you think is the problem here?
  23. Today
  24. Right on cue right dude.
  25. thats what happens when you have a coach who lays his fav's...tho Mitchell never earned anything yet....buy even so I bet if on roster he would offer more than Sterns,,,,,and why not give him a few games to work it out...we wasted about 6 or 7 on the other Mitchell and Johnson last yr... 2 yrs in Sask it never materialized....this camp showed more the same.....but lets roster hi anyway and jettison some prospects and Park Mitchell and White who both have had success in league...makes sense to me
  26. Can’t wait to argue about an actual game with you lot instead of hypothetical rosters!
