I had a leftover day of vacation to use up so I rolled through the stadium today and concentrated on the offense Bryan Randall appears to have a leg up on the QB2 job, Darryl Hackney looked awful in skelly and throws an ugly ball Onterrio Smith looks like a total pro out there in the backfield, Ramonce Taylor looked good in limited action but seemed to disappear halfway through practice Justin Surrency catches everything thrown his way and seems to be a lock to make the team, he even made Roc Carmichael look silly on every rep they matched up for. Antonio Brown can run by everyone on the field but on one rep across the middle, Dwayne Slay lined him up and made him pay for it Tyson Pencer is a mountain of a man out there and will be a sure-fire ratio breaker at tackle if he keeps this up We’re going to the Grey Cup- 2026 Bombers Season

Forgot to mention we almost lost Banks today. He crashed into the uprights full speed after running a post route. The noise it made echoed in the stadium. Thankfully he was fine.- 2026 Bombers Season

Thanks for the input. I’m sure all of us that can’t be there are starving for any little tidbit we can get. Hopefully Dixon can get it going… I was hoping he’d make an impact.- 2026 Bombers Season

Bailey is a beast, and he has some freakish strength that really surprises people with his size. Reminds me a lot of Gavin Walls, not as strong, lengthy, and of course, without the polish.- The Tech Thread

some thoughts, with the usual caveats about limited reps, one day, etc Penner from the Rifles fits in during skelly, rec drills, etc. the problem today was they did a tonne of sts blocking drills and he’s younger and smaller than everybody else and got bullied. He had one rep against Banks that was hard to watch. Speaking of Banks, he looked great blocking but just ok as a receiver. Both American rbs looked good. Both had some nice runs, and Arnold took a swing pass for 30ish yards in full scrimmage. Payton Thorne looked really bad. Held onto the ball for a long time and threw a few picks in skelly. Perkins turned the wrong way for a handoff twice on three plays. I can’t say for sure it was his fault, but the coach spoke to him after each one and the following play he’d turn the other way. I wasn’t very impressed by him either. Poncius and especially Elsbury looked really good on the ol. Elsbury won every rep I saw. Only time I saw Poncius get beat was when he picked up the wrong guy in 2 v2s. On the dl I didn’t see Dixon win a single rep. I thought KMB looked great. He’s small, but always gave the ol trouble. Saw two Dante Daniels reps blocking. He got run over by KMB on one, then buried Aaron Smith on the next one. No 1v1s today for recs, so that sucked. Singer ran a nice corner/post route in skelly, but the qb (Thorne iirc) threw it late and it got knocked out of his hands. Otherwise didn’t really notice any recs standout.- Around the NHL 2025-26

Strength of the team is a tough one. Did Flutie ever start on a bad or average team? Do we downgrade Zach's renaissance because he was on a generational team? Does that, by extension, nearly wipe out Kharis' career? What about AC's loyalty to the Als or his willingness to remake himself late in his career? Something similar can be said of all the top QBs. Some of those factors are bigger than others. Imo, the big ones are Danny Mac just slinging it on so many bad or mediocre teams (while piling up the picks), Allen padding numbers like emmit smith while only having a small number of good passing years, Harris/KG padding on good teams and not elevating teams, and just the vastly different era for guys before Brock/Moon/Clements. Even that era, up through Khari to the modern era, is a massive change. Nothing is gained by reducing the greatness of any of those guys, though.- 2026 Bombers Season
Now the Who wears short shorts song is in my head.- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
Ricky Ray was on some very average teams, particularly in Edmonton, but he'd still put up the yardage For his GC win in Toronto, the team around him wasn't all that good- 2026 Bombers Season
I'm happy for you for noticing.... Love is love baby! ✊- 2026 Bombers Season
I’m at camp today. First observation is DeShaan Dixon has the shortest shorts I’ve ever seen on a football player.- 2026 Bombers Season
That's a lot of what we do as well to get guys prepped for pro days....a lot of it too is just mechanics and learning how body should move....but he doesnt need to be super fast at that size if used correct And yeah a fade into the corner...vs what is a lot of times a db who is sub 5'10...you gonna win that matchup 9 times outta ten. You would think too a quick hitter across the middle with his size, and what looks to be pretty athletic, that 5 to 7 yards will be easily gained as you would think he not going down easily and definitely not on first contact...just catch it...head north and drive for yards- 2026 Bombers Season
Yep. Chris carter used to run a camp that helped a ton of guys to refine their speed and athletic measurables. Especially 1 sport football players who don't have natural speed. I know a bunch of camps like that operate now to help kids pre-combine down south. A movement coach might even help him a ton. Yep, plenty of use for a guy like that. Red zone fade route, even a drag route behind the play as a check down in the red zone will be good. Agudosi had the bid height and length, but didn't use it well enough at WR. Prefering to body catch, a guy this big, who uses his size and length to hand catch balls, with the right passport and tons of blocking/teams use, will be a great end of the roster guy at worst.- 2026 Bombers Season
Yeah a drop in weight alone won't really move the needle on his speed....there is specific training to increase it a bit but for most part a guy like that will never be a burner...but doesn't need to be A receiving threat at TE on the jumbo alone will pay huge dividends in addition to the blocking aspect. And hopefully early and often we actually use him as a target so teams can't ignore it and have to scheme accordingly. He will be just fine used as am initial chip block and slide out into the flats as a release valve or just in close to goal line or 2nd and short type situ's to just do a 5 yard up and out/pivot and box out the smaller defender for easy pitch and catch...Doesnt need to initially be exotic, but more use his assets of size. I an see quick hitters also across the middle on a slant and let him just bowl thru guys for mice positive yardage....be interesting what Condell is cooking up, and thank god OC Guy from last yr will not have his fingerprints on the offence- Blue Bombers -- 2025/26 Offseason -- Discussion Thread
I saw JT last weekend, he has dropped a few pounds. I wouldn't be too worried about that happening. Yeah that's the thing with this topic...how much weight do you put into the teams around the guy. BLM had some absolute monster WRs/Olines/RBs and defenses. Collaros as well, especially in 2021. Without that defense the team looks very different. Essentially all Great QBs were on great teams...how much of that greatness is on the QB as compared to the rest of the team around them?
