  1. Past hour
  2. He became a cheapskate amid these massive profits the team is now reaping... Why? Yeah, we have a veteran team but so what? A GM should still be aggressive even with a veteran team signing free agent players to push the guys already there. So, we sign a veteran free agent who pushes out a player already at that position. So what? I look at that as an improvement. Not just handing a guy like Thomas a starting spot every year. If Thomas is our best & the coaches actually think the players behind aren't as good as he is, then they all need to be swept away. Other teams do that but we don't. There seems to be a few sacred cows on this team with O'Shea.
  3. Lawler, White, Bridges, Smith Philpot, Mack, Rambo, Snead McInnis, Hatcher, Cotty, Berryhill Schoen, Wheatfall, Demski, Clercius I'd put us 4th in this area and suspect most GMs would too.
  4. Bryant in 15 Harris in 16 Demski in 18 Biggie in 18 Jefferson in 19 Trade for Collaros in 19 Walters used to be a player in free agency and was willing to make trades and moves such as the above lead to the 2 cup wins and this era of success. The issue to me is keeping some guys too long, less success in the draft and not scouting quite as well.
  5. I doubt this group strikes fear in the hearts of DC's throughout the league, Wheatfall is still learning & Demski can't do the things he used to. If Schoen is out or playing injured then teams can take away Wheatfall's deep threat. Clercius is a keeper but is strictly a posession receiver. The other guys, well...
  6. I don't disagree that his approach isn't the same and I was never arguing that. I argued that he wasn't the cheapskate you made him out to be. He still spends money, it's just mostly internally as he seems to prefer re-signing existing guys over attracting new (potentially younger) talent. He definitely isn't as aggressive in FA as he used to be but the team also wasn't as good so he kinda had to be. If we maintain the status quo , we"ll be back in that situation.
  7. I think they can be but offer sheets require players signing them. Don’t think any of them would. And if they did unless team is giving up multiple 1sts, we likely match. Cuz we got cap.
  8. Wasn’t Demski like leading the league in TDs and Wheatfall is up there in yards. Worst receivers in the league looked good when they played with Streveler week 1.
  9. Yeah, totally backward. The Grant thing as well. Comments here about Grant going radio silent in th off season like he's off the grid. Really? I'm sure his agent can find him if a new contract was offered lickety split. Just a bunch of stupid excuses, Consider this: We have the worst receiving corps in the CFL without Lawler. We're also the worst kick & punt return game in the CFL. We can't find an impact returner if the team's survival depended upon it. And we let the best returner in CFL history just..... go. What's he being paid in Toronto? Something like $85,000 Canadian? Like WTH, Walters??? Trey Vaval looked promising but he seems to be fading...
  10. That’s how you start creating rivalries. It’s a good thing. CFL needs more than just Winnipeg vs Sask. cal vs edm and tor vs ham as legit “hated” rivals But tonight’s game is the E’s vs the R’s hopefully not a sign of things to come for them
  11. Today
  12. Yup and my guess is yesterday’s melee involved some practice roster guys on the sidelines chirping away at each other and the rostered players. Makes for some fun.
  13. Part of that is nobody likely would have picked him up either...and we sign him first in offseason...like he a priority...we could have left him u signed right up to camp and then if it seemed like he was needed...bring him on...
  14. Kinda how I see it too
  15. Walter's approach is totally different than it was decade ago. Back then, he was aggressive in free agency trying to build a contender. He was willing to pay for players & take risks & eventually he accomplished his goal as it paid off with GC wins back to back in 19 & 21.. I don't want to say Walters has become fat & sassy but this isn't the same guy as GM he was even back as recently as 2017-18. He comes across as he doesn't have to fill holes on the team as they'll fix themselves. He hasn't had a great off season in years. Players, coaches, & management leave & it's like the Stamps old mantra, "Next Man Up". Which is all well & good until there's no more Men to step up as the Stamps found out this decade. We've won because we had great depth but you can see that depth is being depleted & getting thinner. He seems to let Osh have total control on the roster, like who plays & who doesn't when our HC needs to be reigned in. As I said, not the same GM as he used to be.
  16. Whyte is Mr Automatic but Buck pushed the envelope on that second last play. He got lucky.
  17. Frosty is a basketball fan? Well, talk about showing us a side of you we never knew...
  18. Welcome to the new Basketball Thread merging the older Sea Bears and Raptors/NBA threads and now including NCAA & U Sports. Lets start off with a big trade.
  19. Yeah, we let guys like Lawler & Grant go & keep that useless Thomas in the lineup.
  20. It's a dumb thing as is a 150 people on every CFL team's bench.
  21. If you would rather attempt that high of a risk pass (given the time remaining) than entrust your pro kicker with a 48 yarder, you deserve everything you get.
  22. It isn't about necessarily finding the needle in the haystack, it's more about not giving up on looking for it. Doubtful You left about 30 names of suck off the list so I will assume this was your highlight reel of suck.
  23. I think it would have been around 48 yds. which was beyond White's longest FG of the season at 43 yds. He likely would have made it, so I don't know why Buck gambled on getting another play off. Playing with micro-seconds in football is so inexact, I hope teams don't start pushing that envelope.
  24. Curious as to how far the fg attempt would have been, had CFL’s greatest kicker attempted it, prior to the last pass.
  25. Agree just curious how close it was looking at it again with timing it perfect.
  26. The timekeeper is human, there is always a slight delay between the snap of the ball and the clock starting
