  1. Past hour
  2. I always find it hard to browse the CFL's official free agent list so I re-organize it by position for readability. Still lots of time until free agency opens so this list is getting smaller daily.
  3. Not true - Rourke was also trying his luck with the NFL before he ever stepped on to a CFL field. He wasn't getting much interest as a QB though (the Giants had him try out at receiver) so he signed with BC. Yeah he got more interest down south after 2 seasons up here, but it was not his original plan (hence his unexpected detour comments). Elgersma is actually getting more NFL looks than Rourke did at this point in their careers so it's not hard to see why he might chase that.
  4. yea i know. he’s the man, always will be. hope he’s doing great.
  5. Buff is living his best glamping life. Dude has put on the lbs
  6. Bring back Buff for the Alumni game, show he can still play, get him in NHL shape, give his jersey back, suit him up and send Schenn on his way. Please?
  7. Today
  8. How about, if Nathan Rourke can't make it then Elgersma will never get an NFL pension. Rourke showed signs of brilliance in the exhibition season when he got his chance to play to no avail & he was a starter in the NCAA. All I'm saying that no Canadian & U Sport trained qb has ever started in the NFL. We don't have the competition or coaching needed to play in the nFL up up here. Most Canadian qbs can't even play in the CFL. We aren't a country that churns out qbs for both leagues. The difference between Elgersma & Rourke is that he knew he had a financial payday waiting with the Lions as he had already played 2 years in the CFL before he went south. His rookie deal was finished. Elgersma has an $85000 rookie Canadian payday waiting for him up here. Not as much incentive to sign with us.
  9. ICYMI Alumni game is at CanadaLife. Bring back the entire D from 11/12 that was fricken solid in hindsight.
  10. 3 Stars: 🥇44 🥈55 🥉Faulk Attendance: 13661
  11. Just for fun knowing move clauses, contracts, salary caps etc if the Jets weren’t going for a full rebuild but needed more than a re-tool and a team really wanted to win now and would pay pretty good for one of our core guys to help them reach the finish line this coming post season, what player would you give up knowing you would probably get a small kings ransom in return? I’m going off the board a bit and going with Helle knowing we’re just doing this for fun.
  12. But it’s his dream. It probably is a pipe dream but it’s his pipe dream. Obviously it’s not about money since dude being paid peanuts the past year now.
  13. Jets are Atlanta tho. They can have the old jets records all they want but this versions history is in Atlanta just like Utah’s history is in Arizona so it be silly to ignore.
  14. To be fair, I think Mike was referencing his football career in general not specifically the nfl. But either way, you seem to be offended by his choices. As long as there are stories like Warner out there its easy to believe guys will believe in themselves and chase their goals. And if Streveler can get an NFL pension, Elgersma has at least a chance
  15. well here's one I don't get to post often enough
  16. Kovalchuk has been dxpunged. All the Atlanta guys have which makes sense if the Jets want their records back. I'd love to see Teemu here if he can still play. Nikolai Khabibulin, Teppo Numinen & Tie Domi would be great if they can still physically play.
  17. You gave it your best shot, you little couch potato. It's a pipe dream, not a career. He's made zero cents. We'll see how he does in the UFL as I expect that's where he goes. If I was Waltwrs, I'd tell him to come up here & offer an extra $40,000 at him in marketing money to make his salary $125,000 Canadian. At least give an incentive to come & sign a contract.
  18. Regardless. It makes no sense. But no I didn’t. I dunno @iHeartill give you props for being a good fan but sometimes you are a little off. It’s all good tho. I appreciate the fandom. Maybe they ask Nyquist to play and he finally scores a goal. ask Ilya kovakchuk tho. That would be cool.
  19. did you miss the sarcasm part?
  20. Let’s pretend you are 23 and a QB and you’re trying to live your dream cuz that’s what this is. A kid trying to live his dream. Now try again.
  21. Unless picking first, he’s not going to be a Jet.
  22. Why would Helle play in an alumni game. Prob Chris mason and or hutch cuz 1 lives here and 1 not far from here. Pav is in Europe. 7 announced tho Buff. Thorbs. Perreault. Ladd. Little. Wheeler. Stastny. id hope for Toby and slater. I’d maybe ask teemu and maybe tkachuk if he’s not morbidly obese. Mark stuart also but he’s an asst coach in the league
  23. Exactly my childish point. He hasn't thrown one pass that meant anything in the NFL during the regular season & never will.
  24. Have the current commish prove this wrong because I think he would twist himself into a pretzel trying to do so.
  25. Life changing money? You're talking like Elgersma has a chance to actually make it down there. When was the last time a Canadian qb who played U Sports started for any NFL team? This is now Year 2 for him & as Mike calls it, his NFL "career". I don't see much difference between Year 1 & Year 2. As Booch says, other than a training camp per diem last year, he's made nothing.
