Ed Tait is a Class sports reporter, one of the best in Canada.

I recall a well known Curler from our club had a long interview with Wiecek, when it came out in the paper there was not a word about their interview. It belittled his team etc etc.

They totallyignored him for the rest of their great career..

Which is why he's a Columnist...

He is also a reporter. His reporting is better than his columns but he still manages to take digs at the Bombers when he is writing reports.

Friesen & Wiecek are a joke, I really don't understand why a paper hires them.

Because no matter how much people whine and ***** about them people still read them and they probably sell more papers than the reporters do.

I'd imagine it has to due with seniority. I don't think they sell papers or create hits. I'd suspect a Sinclair or Broadbeck does.

The sun is free in lots of areas of the city. They literally have to give it away

They stick around because print journalism is a dying breed. No one wants to get into it, even radio is dying a slow death.

I can't this douchebag .. I've never seen anything positive come from him. It's one thing to be critical when it's deserved .. but finding negativity in EVERY little thing the organization does it just too much. It's like someone in the organization kicked his dog, slept with his wife .. pissed in his cornflakes all in the same day.

It's relevant because Knox was suspended for PEDs in the NFL.

Seriously he and Wiecek contribute nothing of value when they write about the Bombers.

Wiecek is actually more frustrating because he CAN write interesting pieces like the one about concussions and head trauma. Then he turns around and is an a$$ about the Bombers which just makes it seem more personal as opposed to Friesen's dog and pony show

While mildly interesting because it broke some news about Ken Ploen and featured some legends, that "feature" came off incredibly half-assed to me. Not much background, not much research or digging.
