... what hope can we take away from 2015?  I feel worse after this year than last if that's possible but I do see some talent that could be complimented with a new OC and more competent roster management. Willy I believe is the real deal, but needs a chance to show it, meaning he's not getting killed every game. Thankfully I can go watch the Jets play tomorrow night and forget about football for another 6 months.

Taman and Tillman have a lot of baggage, but Higgins might be a better choice for head coach. Higgins' experience as a possible GM is iffy.

 

Tillman by far would be the best choice, he's been actively recruiting for the Ti-Cats and still doing a great job but his reputation is probably too much for the fans to stomach right now.

Coupl of tweaks will go a long way. No extension for anybody unless we see dramatic improvement next year. Make em all earn an extension in their final year. I'm expecting big things if a quality, CFL-experienced OC shakes loose and we pick em up.

I agree no extensions. If Miller, Walters & O'Shea all stay then they're going to have to produce an absolutely remarkable season in 2016 just to survive. If these guys think the pressure was high this past season just wait till next year when the screws will really be tightened. Right from the end of this season thru next season, I foresee it not being very much fun for them the next 12 months if they all last that long. Glad it's not me. Someone like O'Shea won't even have a free season to relax if he's fired as his contract will have expired but I'm sure he'll find work again in the CFL.

They were last year and the year before that. They were stupid enough to keep Mack and Tim Burke around for an extra year and to give PLAP a new contract so he wouldn't be a 'lame duck' coach then fire him 8 games into the next season.

MB will get canned but my concern is that there won't be a really experienced CFL OC available. Having both Benny and Hall come available last season was a total fluke. We couldn't possibly be that lucky on O this time could we? I'm not exactly thrilled at the thought of trying out yet another inexperienced guy at OC...

Normally, the thought of Tillman as GM would revulse me, but I have had my moments this year when it didn't seem as insane. Ugh.

I'd rather have a newbie than Marcel. We know Marcel is terrible. At least the newbie offers hope.

Why have most people not figured out that Higgins sucks? The only success he had was largely because of the people before him building decent teams.

He did a pretty good job in Edmonton & Calgary where he was the GM. Stamps were something like 3-15 in 2004 under Matt Dunigan & got them a winning record & a playoff spot the next season when he took over as GM & HC. 

He was a .500 coach and GM in Calgary and when they moved him out they became the dominant team they are now. If you want middling you go Higgins.

That 2004 Stamps team was brutal... As bad as the Bombers are now. If you give Walters our GM now all kinds of chances to prove himself then you should give Higgins the benefit of the doubt as well during the time he was with the Stamps. He had very little to build with when he started.

I do not give Walters any chances. I never have. I wasn't in favour of him getting the job.

I have never been a fan of Higgins, especially when he was the officiating head office.

Lets take a look at Higgins' career and record as a head coach:

Higgins joined the Stampeders coaching staff, serving in many different capacities until becoming a head coach in 2001.

Higgins became head coach of the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos later that year, leading the team to the playoffs in each of his four seasons. In 2002 and 2003, he won division titles, and he won a single Grey Cup as a head coach, with the Eskimos in 2003.

In 2005 he returned to the Calgary Stampeders as head coach. He held this position for three years, making the playoffs in each, but with the team's record also declining each season. He was fired after a first round loss during the 2007 playoffs.

And he was a very good coach in the CIS as well. Would folks here rather have this record or the Lapolice/Burke/O'Shea results? This record would have had fans here positively giddy.
