So while I know that talks with Frolik have apparently begun to "heat" up, if we don't get a deal done by Thursday he will be able to start getting a feel for what kind of money and term other teams would be willing to give him.

 

Must be the busiest time of the year for GMs with the Draft this weekend and Free Agency soon after.

 

With GMs able to talk to agents on Thursday, and pretty much all agents and GMs being at the draft, I expect a huge flurry of singings July 1st when they can officially submit contracts.

So apparently I have been hearing that the Jets had offered him the same thing?! 

Maybe Frolik didn't want to sign here. Find it hard to believe we wouldn't give that. Thats only $1M more than last year.

Either that or Frolik and agent over estimated the market, and once in UFA, he went to a team he thought was a better fit.

Better opportunity in Calgry? He's pretty much squeezed out of the top six here. Plus if they want a 3rd line winger might be comparing a much cheaper Burni to Frolik

Calgary probably matched Winnipeg's offer. All of a sudden re-signing Tlusty not look so bad, better be min wage tho.

Jackman stays in St. Louis.

Toronto will be eating approx. 15-25% of Kessel's contract. It's a steal imo if the Pens have Kessel at $6M per. Spaling to the Leafs and a 2nd rounder back to the Pens may also be part of the deal, which is good for the Pens. Borderline 3rd liner with a bad contract for a good pick.

sigh I thought players would lighten up on Winnipeg a bit, even though we don't have the best Salary cap the amount of fans should make up for it, shouldn't it?

Rather secure Burni to be honest. But Tlusty is a good player for bottom six

Frolik made his choice and i respect him for that. Pretty clear that he didn't want to be here.

4.3 a year is a bit much as is the term for Fro but do you want to pay a guy like that for a 3rd liner?

Chevy is being fiscally responsible and keeping 4.3 off the books for 5 years and replacing it with a smaller contract is wise.

We're gonna need that money for Ladd and Trouba and Lowry and Buff?

 

I'd offer Buff 8 m a year for 2 years.

Always liked Burmi, glad he's back ... Frolik disappeared in the playoffs and what they paid was still too much IMO.
