NHL Draft is approaching soon, so thought I'd start an official thread to discuss the draft and any trades that happen between now and then.

This article makes no sense...  if Philly and NJ are among the rumours why instantly write them off in the article?  And Boston is not in cap jail??

Eriksson is awful. I'd do buff for 1st 3rd the Russian and a D prospect. No to Eriksson. He Is a waste. The Russian is a pretty good player really. He's not ovechkin but honestly I think he's better than Burmi. Has higher upside at least

Well. Lucic and Hamilton plus Soderberg was moved so... no cap issues for Boston anymore. That's a lot of money they traded away for picks and young prospects.

Boston has 4.7 of cap space.

I didn't realize Loui is an UFA after this upcoming season.

The Bruins don't have alot on their roster they would give up that would fit here....poor trade partners?

 

Philly has 8333.00 left on cap space but if they moved Simmonds in a deal with Buff, I would cover some of Buff's contract for this upcoming season.

I wouldn't want that deal either, but Loui is far from a bad player. In fact, he could be a nice pickup as I bet he improves greatly getting out of Boston. In 4 years from '07-'11 in Dallas he missed 3 games total and averaged 70 points per season.

That was a long time ago tho and the guy just hasn't gotten better, he's gotten worse... No to Eriksson, I'd rather we use guys like Ehlers or Petan cuz at least they might have a future in this league, Eriksson is done. 

We don't need him here for one year.....if we are to trade with Boston, let's get some quality D men prospects.

NO. HELL NO.  Get Petan out of there and it's still a no.. A HELL NO.

 

Try Buff for 1st plus prospect D man, that's fair. SANHEIM is the guy i'd want from Philly. 

 

Jets are a draft and develop team, the quicker you realize this and stop trying to trade the prospects we have drafted and are going to be developing the better.

 

Simmonds serves no purpose, Morin sucks. The 1st sure, but... that trade doesn't help us at all really.. it actually makes us worse, eating 2.5 of buffs contract too? Not a damn chance for that package of total crap really. 

Philly is in no position to trade for Buff they need 5 million in cap space and getting prospects back for Buff doesn't help Philly do that. If you want to trade with Phiily is has to be contract for contract with maybe a pick thrown in.

Philly isn't about to give up Sanheim. Would love to get him though....Chipman was just on the radio saying he is confident they will sign Buff and Ladd.

Merits of that trade aside, after making that trade, are you playing Chiarot as our #1 LHD next year or a rookie in Hanifin?  And we would still have a bottle neck of RHD.

I was reading a blog about the Ducks and some of their issues, one being no top quality left wings.  Might Ladd look great in a ducks uni if Jets go that route?  Not sure who the Ducks have we'd want though...

You think Ladd would get you a player of their quality as a pending UFA?  Then I guess hes walking for nothing!

I'd be shocked if the Ducks added another FW over 30 who commands $5M/yr and up.  They've got too much invested in Getzaf, Perry & Kesler as it is.
