Second season of Orange is the New Black launched today.

 

Anyone else into this?

 

I have to admit to being a bit of a TV/movie-phile.  I generally buy Blu-Rays when there's a movie I want to see rather than just watching it on PPV or In-demand (I like to collect).

 

Premium TV has really been leading a creative resurgence in recent years, probably dating back to The Sopranos.  Its nice that Netflix has become a legitimate competitor for HBO (which puts out some really great shows like Sopranos, Deadwood, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood etc).

 

House of Cards was tremendous.

 

While cable channels like AMC are getting in on the act, I annoys me a bit.  The Walking Dead would be so much better on Netflix or HBO where they could truly appeal to adults (HBO passed on The Walking Dead when Thomas Jane was attached).

 

As for Orange, it took me a few episodes to get into last season but Im looking forward to banging out a few episodes tonight.

 

As an aside, for you Trekies, it was recently the 20th anniversary of the finale of TNG, one of the best Series' Finales in TV history.

    Episode 4 of The Penguin was a phenomenal hour of TV.

    Could and maybe should be a thread on its own but recently finished watching the Menendez story on Netflix. What are people’s takes on this. Personally think they full of crap and deserve to rot regardless of possible molesting. They were grown adults.

    Have not seen the NF show but i remember the trials. I knew they would get convicted on the 2nd one for the simple reason they couldn't repeat the emotions from the first one.

    My take is abuse is not an excuse for 1st degree murder. It was planned and premeditated. Simple as that.

    okay normally I don't talk about the Marvel shows but the latest Agatha All Along was just perfect last night, that emmy has Patti Lupone's name on it

    I am enjoying Agatha All Along a lot more than I thought I would.

    Well I have finished up the Crown season 4, Gillian Anderson earned her emmy for sure (and I hope the hair and makeup department got recognition as well)

    and good god, Charles is just the worst (I'm glad the Queen called him out on that in the last episode), I get it you'd rather be with Camilla but you had no right to treat Diana like that I don't care if you are first in line for the throne. I've essentially come to the conclusion that they were better parents than they were spouses.

    I'm glad that Andrew, and Edward finally got to have some screen time even if it wasn't that important (except for one wedding) or significant

    well we're getting the time jump I hoped for, still the Million Dollar Question(s) how are they going to address Dale or even the situation with Luanne and her crew since their voice actors have died
