Official Expansion Draft Day Thread

Today marks a historical day.  Eight teams will look a little different after today, and the last one will start forming some shape.  Should be interesting.

TSN's coverage is not official as they are not capitalizing REDBLACKS.

  • disappointed to lose miles, he showed some real potential last year but on the other hand receivers are pretty straightforward to find.

  • If you trust a guy, and you trust that he'll go along with a side-deal that says "...Listen, we want you, but we can't protect everyone. You're a FA, so we're going to leave you unprotected and hopefu

Hahahahahahahaha James Green!!!

it pays to be super thin.

Who are they going to pick from us in the next round? The contractual rights to Brian Guebert?

we need to sign Matt Sheridan asap.... :D

Thanks Mike. Bombers came thru that round looking good. Stamps are going to miss J'Micheal Deane as he played well last season in & out of the lineup with injuries. I know Alex Krausnick. His wife just had a baby. He told me last night that he wanted to stay in Edmonton but will take whatever happens.

Bombers are so thin at Canadian talent, this draft is really going to cripple us

Ottawa selects James Green

Kgroh isn't that good... Looks like TO decided keeping was more valuable than eppele

Lavoie is the only real surprise... Well and green, ha

How will we recover from this devastating loss?  Who will decide heads or tails at the coin toss?  Shoot we're never gonna know which one to call.

I hope Ottawa talked to Green (though that may be "tampering") - doesn't he usually retire every year?

Don't worry. Be happy.

Pontbraind should start packing his bags.

Yeah they seem to be in love with fullbacks. Maybe Jesse Lumsden has a chance at a comeback with Ottawa.

Ottawa picks DeAngelis.... woohooo

oh wait, thats practice only... LOL

props to you.....made me laugh!

Lavoie isn't that much of a surprise, he was really good for the Alouettes in 2012 (their offense didn't use him at all this year but I don't think that was his fault)

Green however.... really makes you wonder what we protected (and that they are really sticking to their guns about not taking free agents)

Sure seems like ottawa hired joe mack to help scout their expansion draft - maybe they will announce the signing of andre sadeghin...

I'm wondering if the Bombers could give some guys to the REDBLACKS if they don't get selected? ;)

Louie Sakoda coming up soon...

He pulled his groin while trying to answer the phone. Duncan OMahoney tripped and broke his toe on the way to the can. So that's two kickers that are no longer eligible.

Ottawa expansion draft376626402_monkey_scratching_head_answer_No wonder there was no drum roll.

I love how Desjardins said his picks should be obvious, then he goes and takes three fullbacks. Brilliant.

Maybe that's why the CFL wouldn't publish the list. To protect Desjardins from the fans in Ottawa.

As obvious as ships trying to see rocks in a fog thanks to the secrecy of the CFL.

Bombers have 16 Canadians left that are on the roster now that are not FA so 4 will be left unprotected more like 5 or-6 if a couple FA are protected. Pickens will be slim from Bombers in the 3rd round.

With that guy the knives and pitchforks will be out soon enough. I wonder if Mike Kelly is biding his time...waiting for his chance to pounce...

Poblah. It's got to be Poblah.

I think they might have been surprised that lavoie was left unprotected...

Guess delahunt must be the 'hometown' pick

So far I'd be surprised if even half of these guys are on the roster by 2015...

I am guessing they protect him. Now maybe can use as trade bait later to Ottawa.
