Man, I really wanted Strev to be the guy. He's so likeable, personable, passionate and leaves it all on the field. To paraphrase Picard who paraphrased Melville, "If his chest had been a cannon he would have shot his heart upon it"...but alas he is not. He just looks lost out there. Hanging on to the ball too long and when he does finally pull the trigger you wind up suffering a minor coronary damn near every time.

He's so likeable I feel bad for even stating obvious truths about him...but he just doesn't measure up to any other backup in the league. Will never forget the fire, passion and role he played in the Bomber's Cup wins but, in the words of Sinatra, "And now, the end is near".

Be perfect 3rd string...taysom Hill for us...especially with the 2 qb on field rule now...he did play reciever in college so not a stretch

He will do whatever is asked of him...and doing at 110 percent...hes the epitome of team guy...so yeah..he'd do it

That being said all qbs here deserve the chance next yr with a legit system...legit playmaker...and legit oline...then make those decisions

This is key. Agree he could play that role if he’s fully healthy. All year he still clearly hasn’t been. 
Wilson has looked way more capable in the short set this season

If Streveler wasn’t your boy booch would you still feel the same cuz I think that’s clouding your judgment quite lots. Why keep him as a 3QB when he can’t run ppl over. What made Streveler special was his ability to run ppl over. He CANT do that anymore. His nfl stint made him worse.

Right...and truth is, whether it's what he wants or not, it's not like anyone is likely to be banging down his door to be a starter or even a #2.

The truth is Streveler won’t be in the league next season. I wouldn’t bring him back. I mean why. Where’s the potential. It’s not there. From starter to backup to nfl  to backup to starter to 3rd string? I don’t see that happening. It’s backup or out the league. Every time he had a chance to start this is the result, same in 2019 or whatever year he started b4 we signed Zach cuz Streveler wasn’t good enough.

Given what I said previously it'll be no surprise if I say I hope you're wrong. That kind of heart-on-your-sleeve passion is infectious. I hope he comes to camp, fully healed and shows...something.

Not a chance. Some of you can’t let the memories go. You want the fur coat wearing dude. Thing is, this is who that guy was also but that guy could out run D line. He’s the same QB who throws more picks than Tds that he was when he first started for us. That guy was healthy tho. This guy never will be cuz every game he starts he gets hurt almost, looks like he got hurt near the end.

Yes he will because there is zero upside and he’s not ever going to be healthy. 
 

do some of you think Streveler was more than just a gadget QB? Cuz he really wasn’t. He was a run only really guy with a terrible throwing motion. Now he can’t run. I don’t see why any team would see any upside there. He can’t even do dives anymore. I mean, as a gadget QB he’s even done. Because he can’t and likely won’t be able to run anymore. If healthy. He won’t ever be healthy. If healthy you need your d and sp teams to score points to win. If healthy he’s still throwing more picks than tds. Oh his personality? So basically he becomes Damian Jackson. A guy on the roster not good enough but hey he’s well liked by everyone. Like Jake Thomas really. Not good enough but ppl like the guy so let’s keep him. What’s the difference really. Oh it’s cuz 6 7 years ago dude made a couple throws in a grey cup game and since then hasn’t.

How often does a 3rd qb play...never...its a perfect way to get another asset to use

You so focused on this yr...u do realize he blew out his knee in banjo bowl eh? Playing less than a yr removed

I seem to recall he also got close to 100 yards last night...not bad for a guy who can't run....and if used as I mentioned...his role woukdnt be to run over people

yeah i mean if he’s not gonna be a qb1, you can just unleash him as a football player. Put him out on kick cover like we did with bryan bennett in the past.

I think if ppl want to see a healthy Streveler they should shut him down and put him on the IR until he can run again. Cuz I don’t see how playing on it can help.  Ppl spent days going on about Schoen playing on an ACL and all this but Strev plays through injuries it sounds like and seems like that’s ok. Shut him down and let him get healthy cuz he’s obviously not close to 100 percent. If he is, he sucks now.

He still has his top line speed...the initial take off on a new ligament takes time...like I said...judge his running next yr

He shed his brace...and he got good yards on ground...hes only 13 months post op
