Kennedy is a great pick for sure  but outside of him I'd like to see ppl who are most qualified to do the job get the job. Don't think u should go in to it thinking we need Lots of women cuz then you are discriminating against men just cuz they are men. The best qualified people should get the job

Perfect.... Then get Hailey Wickenheiser (too busy being a doctor) or Sami Jo Small or someone who has played high level hockey and has a background in business administration.

The best qualified candidate can and most likely IS (in this case) a woman...

Never understood this "culture of hockey" as in. "Well, it's going to take a long time to change the culture of the sport. We can't change things overnight". Okay then, how long will it take? "Oh, years". Like WTH?

Hey, if some pedo male coach is raping his young teen age players or a team of 17 & 18 year olds thinks it's fun to rape a woman & everything can be substantiated, then don't hide it. Call the cops, have them press charges & throw these sicko men & entitled brats in jail.  Don't hide it & pay people off not to press charges & sue. It's not that hard. We've just let Hockey Canada & offending hockey teams get away with it for too long.

Crazy bronze medal game going on right now.  2nd & 3rd period were all offense with 13 goals scored.  Jets picks Lucius had 2 goals while McGroaty had what looked to be the game winner with a minute and a half left until the Swedes tied it up short handed.

Spoke too soon!  Lucius with the hat trick to claim the bronze medal.

Is also of Latvian heritage.  My grandparents and uncles were born over seas, my dad was not. Unfortunately Latvia loses to Canada but great run.

Huge upset for Latvia over Sweden today (3-1).

This proud Latvian-Canadian couldn't be happier.

And a bronze medal after beating the US yesterday.

Congrats, Team Latvia!

Gold - Canada

Silver - Germany

Bronze - Latvia

I'm not sure anybody had that pegged as the outcome for the Worlds (Canada aside).  Great showing by both the German & Latvian teams.

A top-level hockey tournament in Europe is set to experiment with some new rules for the upcoming season.

The Champions Hockey League will implement three changes involving penalties for its 2023-24 season:

 1. A team that causes a minor penalty will remain shorthanded even if the opposing team scores a goal.
 2. A minor penalty will be served even if a goal is scored while a delayed penalty is pending.
 3. If the shorthanded team scores, the minor penalty against will end.
