He's had a bad injury history but I would jump on that one - he would be an instant upgrade

I don't know about THAT, but he'd certainly be worth bringing in.

The Reinders family is loaded - they run the giant engineering firm "Maple Reinders".  I know a guy here in Kelowna who works for them, who told me that Joel's dad is one of the main guys there.  Maybe he'll just settle for a desk job working for dad in Toronto paying him three times what he'd make as an OL in the CFL.

Injury history? Weekly paper cuts to stay on the injured list, sometimes really deep ones to go on the 9 game?

It's not often NI linemen get cut loose in season .. especially one with the background Reinders has .. definitely worth a look.

They did cut him to sign Tyler Holmes that's a huge upgrade for them!!  I would like to bring Reinders in if possible.

 

thrilled that Holmes finally reported... a bit bummed that we have to release a project as intriguing as Reinders.

 

i thought that this (roster room for Holmes)was why we let Parenteau go... guess not

Hopefully these 2 OL are better than some of the dreck we've used.

 

Send Reindeers an offer, we need all the help we can get.

 

Need a new OL coach in the off-season, one who has experience and a rep as a teacher.

Import OT . The critical element is long arms and foot speed. You have to deal more with outside speed rushers with moves than inside bull-power rushers.

Reinders would solve our Cauchy problem...

I wouldn't expect Reinders to be ready to play this season, at least at a professional level.  He's a freak of nature trying to learn how to be a football player. 

I should think that, with all the import O-linemen available a fter the NFL cuts, we ought to be able to get more than one to push January and instantly replace Douglas/Boatman. If we cannot, that tells us a great deal about our scouting staff.

Teams don't usually bring in NFL cuts until the PR expands and that isn't for another week or two.

I gotta say, Reinders does intrigue me. Although I would feel a hell of a lot better picking up guys like Reinders if we had Bob Wylie, rather than PD!

 

I like the looks of the two new American Tackles. Project players for the NFL are the ones we usually get, so that doesn't bother me at all.
