Just read a report of laine’s Comments while in Finland. Just goes to show the type of player he is....selfish and only interested in himself! A one way hockey player who doesn’t understand team responsibilities and what it means to be a two way player. By the sounds of it he doesn’t want to play in Winnipeg and figures he knows better than anyone else where he should play. Reminds me of his comment when Matthews was selected first and him second. Get rid of the guy he is a detriment to the team...good bye as fast as you can

Aim higher.  More like Matthews/Marner money.  If he scores 50 within the next 2 seasons and plays a solid 200 foot game as a power forward at 21 or 22 years old, he should be looking at Ovechkin type money in terms of % of cap when he signed his previous deal.  That was 16.8%, which would translate to about $13.5 million.   I expect he will be well north of $10m, likely North of $12m on his next deal if he lives up to his potential.  He's off to a good start.

And I congratulate him on his start and hope he continues to play at this level both offensively and defensively regardless of what line he is one. As I said if he continues to do this I am wrong and have no problem admitting it. Let’s see what happens for the rest of the season and talk about it in April May or June . In the meantime good luck to the jets!

I would say he's capable of centering one of the best checking lines in the league.

Right now.. Laine is this teams best player.. Mark and Blake are scoring because of him. Mark and Blake are good together but would be great apart.
