Petan hasnt done 1/8th of the amount Wilson has. What a stupid comparison. Wash just won the cup and he was a huge contributer to it.

But the potential is what you said they paid for.      I countered and suggested that a 20 game play off hot streak shouldn't justify those kind of dollars when his previous 300 games he was nothing special at all.

Wash had him play a role.. He wasnt there for scoring he was there for intimidation and it worked.. Hes a good player.. Is 5.17 too much? Probably but its not a massive overpayment. Petan has yet to show he can even contribute in the NHL.

Heard he accepted his Qualifying offer so its likely less than 874.. Its also a 2 way contract so yeah.. Moose. He will get paid what he got paid in the A the last few years now and it isnt 874.. Its a fraction. That AAV is only if he makes and plays the year with the Jets .. He wont.

Where did you “hear” that?  

 

That is his Qualifying offer BTW. The 70 K in the A is exactly what he was paid last year.

9 million is a joke... The guy is 6-7 range at most..

he knows that but its arbitration so you have to inflate your ask to get what you want.  If he asked for fair market value, the arbitrator would split the difference and he'd get less.

2nd and 3rd round with a prospect for a kind of good player...  sounds fair to me.
