Hopefully Walters realizes that we have to offer a big signing bonus for Muamba... or at least a competitive 'CFL style' contract instead ol' Mack's 'hardball' approach...  I think Muamba will sign.

with the new CBA yet to be finalized, there's just no telling how much money will be available under the SMS. any agent with twobrain cells to rub together wouldn't allow his client to sign anything* until they find out how much of an increase there will be.

 

Walters has to try... and likely is willing to give very fair terms considering how vital a spot HM now occupies in their roster and plans going forward... but i doubt even Walters doubts he'll get him inked until the new CBA drops.

Feb. will be the tell tale and players figuring this will be a big FA payday. More so with a further depleted number of NIMPs and an additional team.

No, not potential free agents, actual free agents.The December date is basically the date that Ottawa is open for business and can start signing players but they don't have access to other team's potential free agents until February like every other team.

It's no different than any off-season.  Ottawa will draft 3 players from each team in December, other than that everything is normal.

Ottawa will have to wait until December just so as not to be signing people while the current season is still going on. It's really nothing more than an official date when Ottawa is actually part of the league.

but what is being discussed are players who aren't under contracts right now who are free agents. Aaron Kelly would be a player who is a recent example of that.

TFL?  I know the NFL, the CFL, and the LFL, but I don't know what TFL stands for.

I'm just guessing but TFL may mean, Tackles For Loss.
