Pretty sure Maurice has some sort of issue with Petan. Not sure what but when it looks like Copp Scheif Ehlers and Petan on the 4th with Tanev and Thorburn... man oh man. Makes you wonder what Maurice is thinking.

As usual, he's ignoring corsi and scoring chances and inserting 'grit'.  I'm sure he thinks Petan and Ehlers are too small to be on the same line.

Same with leaving Trouba off the powerplay and with promoting Thorbs instead of Ehlers last year, bumping Burmi up to second line this year, giving Morrissey zero special teams time, etc etc etc

Petan will eventually force his way up the lineup... and then we'll all wonder why it took so long.

Gibson not as hurt as originally reported. Good chance he starts. Ducks own the Jets asses recently

Hey, they wanna start a hurt goalie...fine with me.

Other than a Jets win  my hope for this game is that the fans do not chant "katey Perry"

You are such a drama queen, it is unbelievable.  Not every line placement is the result of some hidden grudge.  Maurice said he wants to get a look at the top line with both Copp on the wing, and then Petan on the wing and Copp at centre on the 4th.  Sounds like a coach who is using an injury as an opportunity to get a look at two young players in different spots.  It's almost like he is trying to find the best ways to use players instead of assuming he already knows the perfect lineup, like you have since before training camp apparently.

I'd agree with this if Stafford didn't get elevated to first line this year and Thorburn didn't end up on the second line last year...

You mean Stafford who was bounced to the 4th line and Thorburn who has spent half the season in the press box?

without going into whether he's a good coach,

how the hell does Maurice do press interviews almost daily, and still sound sensible, responsive to questions, and polite?

it's quite impressive. His PR skills are exceptional.
