US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

Yup, as soon as the GOP covered for his election interference via Ukraine, everyone knew he would continue and ratchet it up a notch or two each time.

I all for impeaching his ass again- give the senate another chance to remove his assets before he attacks another country or launches nukes. If they fail to remove- the GOP can wear what ever the **** he gets up to next.

When Trump was given a pass on the Ukraine scandal, there was an almost universal consensus that it would give him carte blanche to do what ever he wanted. And he has.

I can't like this enough.

Happy that destruction of property extends to white supremists.

But seriously... the irony here is sooo awesome.

This is during the initial arrest of Enrique Tarrio...

This is scary and going to be an issue this week. "Upon his arrest he was found to be in possession of two high-capacity firearm magazines and charged accordingly with possession."  nytimes.com/live/2021/01/0…

Yup. And he is only one of lunatics that Trump has created and nurtured.

They were peaceful but we’re doing so in a menacing way?

With a police car sitting there.

Shades of Jonestown here. WTF is going on with these people?

Kyle Rittenhouse Pleads Not Guilty to Kenosha Protest Shootings

Kenosha County Court via Reuters
Kyle Rittenhouse, the 18-year-old accused of fatally shooting two people and injuring a third during an August protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to several charges, including first-degree reckless homicide with a dangerous weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon. He is accused of traveling from Illinois, ostensibly to protect businesses during a protest, and then shooting at protesters when they tried to disarm him. He crossed state lines back home and turned himself in the next morning—but has maintained he acted in self defense. He has been hailed as a hero on the far right and was released from custody in November on a $2 million cash bond. He will return to court on March 10 and will face a jury later that month.

(Gonna be real interesting to see what his defence will be. "I felt threatened so I drove two hours with automatic weapons to face unarmed protesters"?)

If they were just peaceful protesters or minorities, the police could tear gas and attack them. Sadly, they're just white, privileged, racist trash, so they get nothing.

I don't know how these protesters were allowed to get as far as they did, Trump directed the protesters to go to the Capitol building as he fled to the WH

They knew what was going to happen today and they were woefully unprepared, it only takes 1 crazy person with a gun and today will be another thoughts and prayer moment.

They're prepared. They only shoot minorities.

Looks like some capitol police were hit by pepper spray

4 years of being a white sock puppet and bobble head for Trump.  Rubbing and licking his mushroom.   Mike Pence....come on down and receive your final reward....

Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done to protect our Country and our Constitution, giving States a chance to certify a corrected set of facts, not the fraudulent or inaccurate ones which they were asked to previously certify. USA demands the truth!

Perhaps when he can show himself again publicly.............

This is ******* crazy...

All hell breaks loose and now they make the call for the National Guard, whole lot of buffoons running government atm, everyone knew this was going to happen they pretty well spelled it out at the rally this morning and once they got the go ahead from their God they marched to the Capitol building and are now running amok.
