US Politics

Lets see if we can keep this thread a little more civil.

I found this interview very interesting.  A lot of soft balls thrown at Trump, he explained his back pedalling on his more extreme issues as a lot of his claims as opening bids for negotiation purposes.  Which .. whatever .. I still think that those are insincere claims he used to get elected.

He does now come across way more presidential then he did prior to the election.  A lot of his noise, yelling, and rhetoric has been scaled back.

Do respect this one though:

Quote

Lesley Stahl: Are you gonna take the salary, the president’s salary?

Donald Trump: Well, I’ve never commented on this, but the answer is no. I think I have to by law take $1, so I’ll take $1 a year. But it’s a -- I don’t even know what it is.

Donald Trump: Do you know what the salary is?

Lesley Stahl: $400,000 you’re giving up.

Donald Trump: No, I’m not gonna take the salary. I’m not taking it.

You know what's even more embarrassing for him is this isn't the first time he's done that. Guy is a flat out *****.

He should consider himself very very fortunate,

The man is a career criminal, like Trump, and won't be able to escape the law now.

Democrats need to get the best candidate to go up against Trump, who ever it is has a tonne of ammo and will need to get dirty, as for impeachment put that on the backburner and fry the lot of them after Trump et al are thrown out of the White House.

Impeachment is a low priority for the Democrats (the party) now in terms of timing. They know they can begin the impeachment process at any point and they know that the Senate will never impeach Trump. So, build the case, make it overwhelming and hit the GOP deep into the election cycle.

There may be individual Democrats that want to push forward now but the party will try to suppress them until they think the timing is right.

Very fortunate. The 7-1/2 years is the combined total from both sentences. The sentencing guidelines for the first set of charges were 19-1/2 to 24 years and he got 47 months and the guidelines for the second set of charges called for a 10 year sentence but he got 43 months. He'll probably be out in 6-1/2 years.

Fortunate on the low sentences.  Almost absurdly low actually.  I meant he was immediately hit with state charges.  If convicted, no Pardon for him.

Surprise surprise the former acting AG outs himself as a Trump stooge, and a liar

What do you call that? Oh yeah, obstruction.

Liars in the Trump administration?   Get back to me, when you have some real news.......

How can a lawyer come out of a courtroom and flat out liar about what happened inside, there has to be repercussion's.

Joe Biden would be my choice.

This post made me think of this. Really good bit on Bikers for Trump in it.

How can someone be so adamant of their innocence and yet so petrified of the investigative report?

He seems to be saying that whatever crimes they find shouldn’t matter because they shouldn’t have been looking anyway.

Trump spent the weekend by serious rage tweeting, he is lashing out at everyone, aside of the Muller report, they are coming after him from all different angles

He was so unhinged he ranted about a Saturday Night Live repeat... Guy is even more bonkers than usual

Whatever it is that's going to be released this week, it's going to be good!
