  1. 14 would be McDuffie btw, nice report D. Glad that Richardson is back on the field.... went from season to being over to back after 2nd preseason game... I will take that all day! Glad to hear Fogg is still giv'n er. He could be a stud. I am mostly interested in how the LB's are going to turn out
  2. Only stayed for early practice, got a little wet outside and am made of sugar. First things first, guys I am actually excited to say that Richards is going to be okay! He was all over the field today and he looked faster today then yesterday. Took some contact and held on the ball a few times. This guy will be able to stretch the field for sure if he has a chance this year. He had 2 really solid box outs on some DB's today and Willy found him often. Gerrard Sheppard was back practicing, not a huge deal but made a nice grab so note worthy. Not a lot of guys going to catch R Smith if he sees green he's gone! (I would be too if I came from Saskabush) Darvin Adams and Bruce Johnson chirping a fair amount on 1 on 1's, all it fun it seemed but Adams burned him 3 times with ease. Adams also played in the slot for one of the team scrimmages, and he looked super comfortable there. Really big target in the middle, easy for Drew to find with a tall DL barring down on him Now as per request I watched a lot of the D today and the best thing to report Noeller already pointed out, Corney stole Bryants lunch and then hung him from the flag pole. Sick Move! Another play worth noting was big Louie Richardson busting the oline and wrapping up Harris for about a 5 yd loss. The D sideline loved it and so did the fans, everyone around me enjoyed that play! The great thing about this play was that had Richardson not tagged Harris, Teague would have, he was right beside him. They talked about it after on the sideline. Anderson may be gone from the interior but enter The Butcher, he was dbl teamed whenever on the field and at least one time that I saw, triple teamed. He has a lot of push in those legs and will presumably spell Shologan/Cummings/Thomas during the games. Fun to watch, wish you could have been there (yeah, I'm an ass) Not other notables from today from the Dline, they are a really strong group though Teague was also very vocal today, shifting guys where they needed to be calling out plays/formations, coaching guys on the sideline. Loffler played some coverage on some 1 on 1's, now I don't know what they are necessarily looking for in this drill but he should definitely stick to safety, got caught flat footed on a cpl dbl moves but he has pretty decent catch up speed. Waggoner did well at coverage on 1 on 1's with RBs, other than that moved well in scrimmages, looks good on ST. Half the time I saw him on the sideline though, 22 wasn't called very often Fogg had another solid day, really nice pass deflection on an out that was note worthy. He seems to be getting along with the vets well, they are always talking to Fogg or Posey and doesn't come off in a demeaning way, more encouraging and comrade-re. Posey also had a really good day, lot's of fire in him and he let everyone know it lol. Willy through a couple of picks today but the 2 I saw was WR error. He is also throwing 50% of the balls so it's going to happen as he tries to find chemistry with his WR. Nichols overthrew a tonne again today and just looked bad. Davis on the other hand looked good, dropped a couple nice passes in stride. Mayo and Davis looked strong today, Velteung seemed to be stretching a lot, didn't run a lot of routes today and was receiving punts today, nor was McDuffie so I can't say much about that. Cone still looked like a cone, Vitt didn't get much play today and Bastien looked bad today. RBs all look good, coaches are going to have a really tough time here. That's all for me, and just remember guys this is just my opinion, I am definitely not a football coach
  3. I can attest to this..... I was watching the WR's and turned my head just in time to see Corney DESTROY, Bryant!! I had to dbl check to make sure I read 66 correctly. You should have heard that DL and DL Coach, they were on fire man. Later on Bryant gave him a tap on the helmet. AWESOME!
  4. Going to try and get out tomorrow as well, anyone want me to watch something specific? I will do my best to evaluate... but am happy o give you guys what you want if anything.
  5. Just trying keep everyone fired up for the season! No more dumbass Bucknor or Neufeld comments. If they are wearing Blue and Gold, that is all that matters!
  6. Ok everyone, sorry it took so long but while we have sun that lawn needed a trim! From my eyes of course: Buckner picked off willy 1st play of scrimmage and ran it back for a score. The defense is gelling together nicely, the boys are fired up. He may not take Randles job but he needs to be used on the field. Practiced with a lot of fire today. Maybe Randle moves to B Johnson's spot, he looked a little shaky on the plays I saw him on. Few plays later Bass had a pick, this time of Nichols. Oline breaking a number of runs through, really nice end around by R Smith, dude is a lot of fun to watch can't wait to see him on labour day! McDuffie looks really good, a number of solid grabs in drills and scrimmage, I must be missing something because I can't see why a team would cut a guy like him. His hands are solid and he makes guys miss on special teams. Harris very vocal when taking repsoff, big time leader... more gushing about him going to be huge for us this season and so on.... No way is medlock punting.... looks like Castillo may be out of a job... Pavlopoulos had a cpl 60+ boots.... a **** tonne of hang time. His first was a squib, I made the irrational decision to write him off and then 3 huge kicks with nice direction... wow. Hurl made a really nice stop on Harris in the backfield, I don't know if it was solid instinct by Hurl or a missed assignment by OL but give credit where its due, he made a nice play. Jesse Briggs.... he better be a demon on special teams this year because it's hard to believe he's going to beat out many of our other LB's or Canadians. Darvin Adams...my man, made some really nice catches, Willy loves the guy, they are always talking giving each other props. He isn't going anywhere. But you can begin to see some standouts in WR corps. Besides the obvious, J Davis will make the team, Mayo had some nice catches, Talley look like they belong. Cone looks like one, Jean still can't catch worth blank, and doubt Bastien makes the club (we just have better options, no slight on the guy), and Richards still looks a little rough, but think he can turn things around once he feels more comfortable after rehab. I can't imagine him being on anything but the PR or IR to start season. Who else....guys like Kearney looked comfortable, moves very stealthy broke some passes. Moe Leggett had a pick, looked like a stud, he hung out a bit with the other NFL guys today, looked like Wilson, Patrick are going to make it tough on the coach. These boys are always working... Loffler was a lot of fun to watch today, he flies around the field. Watched a little of the OL/DL one on ones and didn't see anyone really jump of the page besides Bryant. Macho is terrible... nuff said. Not really organized but thoughts throughout practice.
  7. Headed to practice now... will check in later
  8. That was a pretty good interview, I was not the biggest fan of LaPo when he was last here but I am really happy his is with us. Really cool to see his passion for teaching above all else.
  9. Lester Jean was primarily KR "specialist" when with the Texans, he wasn't that great there and the opportunities he had at WR does not make me excited for this signing. I wish him luck but I honestly don't see him beating out our WRs to make the team.
  10. Well, I got what I could, however, I disagree with the stretching being overrated. If they didn't stretch or not enough someone would b!tch that they should looked after the players better but it's a practice. So what? Let them loosen up, it's just a rookie camp to bring them up to speed for what they will be heading into next week. We were able to see some flashy stuff yesterday, yeah cool, but its not always going to be like that (as was seen by today) I'd rather they know what they are doing so they aren't doing any of these minute details next week which puts a better product assessment on the field come exhibition time. Not trying to be argumentative Bear but would rather everyone be prepared for their real tests then cater to us fans. Just my two cents. Can't wait till next week
  11. Alright boys and girls, I was at practice today and I am sorry I am late but I got stuck at the office.....oh wait that was most of you So here are some of my observations from today: Coutier and Intzandt first OL, first ones on the field working on footwork. (Roommates, looking like they were helping each other out) Intzandt really taking advantage of coach Wylie. One on one tutelage, he would have something explained and then show some of the IMP. He must have done a good job because Wylie gave him a couple taps on the lid, not in a discipline way. Travis Bond is a friggin behemoth- Yes I know this has been said before but wow! Surprised they found a helmet for this guy. Foketi looks like a real solid athlete, Jace Daniels better bring his A game because there are guys here who want it! Great scouting! We have some really nice depth here... I can not see by any means other than an injury plague that we are running 3 imp on the OL, that is just ridiculous talk. Flanders has really nice hands for an RB, was catching a number of passes. Talley seems to struggle with the waggle, IMO he won't make it past the first cut. Vitt is intriguing, really want to see him Crack the roster, strong work ethic. Didn't see Hall talking to much, someone else was running the defensive calls and communicated well with the guys (Glen Young, Todd Howard maybe?) Cobourne has his guys walking with some confidence, RB will be a really neat battle to watch next week to see if we hold onto 2 of these guys. 45 (CJ Wilson) is going to be a team leader. After practice was coaching 23 and 39. Helping them with reads. And then did some conditioning after. A true pro. Avon came by them and could here him from the sidelines telling them " I like the work, I like the work! Singleton was doing sprints on his own as well, then joined in on the conditioning after. That's all I can think of off the top of head and my sad notes. We have some hungry boys who want to play football this year guys, if you get even a little bit of a chance, check them out next week, it's going to be intense!
  12. I'll be hitting up TC at some point this week, unsure if it's Tomorrow, Thursday or both, but I will take some in and will report back the best I can.
  13. The first two 3 picks are obvious upsides to me. I am intrigued by Gauthier, his highlights are pretty solid (even though it is college ball) I think he will bring a lot to our special teams along with Loffler. Huge improvement to our ST and the Bombers needed that big time. I am curious to what happens with Butcher, if they change him to offense or let him play D for a season. Needless to say, I am happy with how we drafted. Hamilton had a pretty decent draft as well imo,
  14. I say we bring Lui in for an attempt to revive his career
  15. I don't care really how the media, analysts, comedians, or whoever compiled this list but my wish list would be as follows: Andrew Harris Ted Laurent Keith Shologan Euclid Cummings (I don't think he will demand a tonne this time around, but could really be worth it) JC Sherritt (Have loved this guy since he came into the league, reminds me of an AJ Hawk kind of player) Courtney Stephen and of course Josh Bourke (but I can't see how we could have the money to pay for him and fill some of our other holes) But if we got any 3 of these guys would change our team completely My 2 cents
  16. Guys, I know the off season hasn't been that long but I think you are forgetting a dependable wr who our qbs used fairly often in 2015....Darvin Adams is not a push over and is worth the money that he is making. I don't disagree we could definitely use another weapon on the field and Carter, Ellingson, and Jackson would be good fits.... I'm even fine with Dressler (have loved watching him since he broke into the league, reminds me of the CFL's Wes Welker) But I think we need to continue working on our DLine, we have a solid secondary IMO. Can you imagine the plays they could make if they just had the front four guys putting on consistent pressure? Once again, I don't pretend to know it all but I think there are some larger issues on this team then breaking the bank on a wr. Moore would be fine to have back if he took a paycut that included some incentives. But all things considered I'd take another wr like the two we have in Denmark and Adams, really good wr's and worth what we are paying them, throw some money at Ryan Smith if he truly is a Dressler junior and see what happens, but like I said spend the money where it's needed and WR it is not.
  17. Totally agree with a lot of what's being said by most of you, but I gotta say things like " our run d has to get better by week 4" ok, settle down. It's week 1 man, we have a number of rookies just getting their feet wet to our game, give them time to gel and know where each other are going to be for more than a month. It will happen. Same goes for our O-line, yes it is a huge upgrade from last season but I am more looking forward to when they are a single unit and have an actual full season together! They gave up 1 sack to one of the best D-Lines in the league and are still getting to know each others tendencies that alone is impressive! Bass and Hurl were both pretty good and looked confident when they were in the game. I would kind of be curious what the Bombers would look like with a 3-4 defense and could play both of them in the middle. Now some of the guys on here have a stronger background of the game than I and wouldn't mind hearing their thoughts on that but I think our run d would be a lot better if you had both those guys filling a gap. On a completely different note (rant) When the hell is tsn going to get some decent commentators Black/Forde are BRUTAL!!!! I thought I was watching a Riders practice with the amount of talking they were doing about the Bombers. I guess I expect to much from TSN, for them to find some announcers that aren't extremely bias to 6 of the 9 teams in the league.... I'm done. Good Win Blue!
  18. Maybe it's the fantasy football GM in me but with Ottawa's secondary hurting right now, wouldn't this be an ideal time to attempt to get something for a guy like Suber? on Donovan Alexander? I know we are low on Canucks but to me that could only raise what kind of a draft pick we could receive for a guy like Donovan. Just a thought...
  19. Nice job! Complete turn around on D over last year
  20. Awesome video! Was diggin the soundtrack as well. Look forward to seeing a D video (if you are putting one together) Hope the boys give you some more highlight material on Thursday!
  21. Hopefully it won't be long till we see him in the red zone with designated plays for him to line up along the oline and leak out for a td or two
  22. Was happy to see Bucknor showing why he a starter in that secondary, Owens is not an easy guy to cover... Sherman has come a looooong way, guy looked on fire last night! Seems he is really buying into Etch's schemes. One other I'd like to throw there is LH, he had some beautiful kickoffs, and that FG inside the 20.... he made that look easy
  23. I'm kind of surprised Gill was cut out of Toronto, from what I read they were raving about the guy all through camp. He had decent hands and speed when he played against the Bombers... I also think Messam would be a welcomed addition as long as he lowers his price tag
  24. Once again I don't see Banks being an issue, last season he had 46 TCK, 3 STT, 1 SK, 2 INT's, and 2 FMBL REC. Granted he's in a new defensive scheme but the guy is a huge locker room guy and can be a big impact player which is what the Bombers need on defense,
  25. I doubt they will cut Wild and Stephan, the latter because when he is healthy does pretty well on special teams and the former because he is really talented. When Kuale is back I'm sure they will slide Wild over
