You guys who insist to stand behind O'Shea's decisions and keep making excuses for Brohm's poor play are hilarious. There is not one thing that Brohm has done to merit the primary backup position.

The thing is Marve should have been (and should be from here on in) the second-stringer in the first place. There is not one thing that Brohm has done to merit the backup position.

The Bombers should roll with Marve for as long as Willy is out because Brohm offers no upside and has not demonstrated an ability to throw nor run the ball. He is awful in every sense of the word. Hell, I'd prefer Dominique Davis over Brian Brohm at this point.

The love that you have for Brohm is silly and unwarranted. Pretty much every one of his throws today were off the mark and weak. I mean... 146 yards on 28 attempts with 2 interceptions and 0 touchdowns is just indefensible. He was awful in every sense of the word, and has been every step of the way so far, save for half a game against Calgary last year.
 
By the way, that was Marve's first "turnover" in all of his preseason + regular season reps so far, and it appeared to be a total fluke. Brohm has committed three interceptions, one fumble and another fumble wiped out by penalty in his limited regular season reps alone.

So everyone seems to agree that Marve needs experience if he's going to get better.  To get that, he needs reps.  We had a bunch of those available in the 4th quarter last night, but some folks around here don't want to give them to Marve in case we push him too fast and break him?  Huh?  
 
We should develop Marve slowly?  Why?  So he can become a 29 year old backup without much experience.  Hint:  We've already got one of those on the roster.
 
Marve's one pass attempt was horrible last night.  No argument from me or anyone else for that matter.  As a reason not to play however, it's weak.  
 
Willy was 3 for 6 with an INT before he got hurt.  Those kind of numbers won't win many games.  I seriously doubt we win with Willy.  It was obvious we weren't going to win with Brohm's 2 INT's, 3 yard dump passes and dirt throws.  Why not give Marve the 4th if for nothing else than some experience.

Lol I might agree with you but that looked like a fluke more than anything. I don't know about you but I could only laugh when that happened.

To look at that one play and conclude that he is "nowhere near ready" is foolish. All I know is that he's more ready than Brohm ever was, is and ever will be.

I just don't understand what anyone can possibly see in Brohm. The guy can't throw nor run. I want the Bombers to win first and foremost, amd Brohm does not give the Bombers a chance to win. He's been outplayed by Marve in both of his training camps so far, he's looked awful in practice from my viewings, and has not impressed in game situations.
 
I can't help but think of his position with the Bombers as anything but a classic case of nepotism.
 
And who knows what Marve could have done in Brohm's place yesterday? It is unlikely that he'd have thrown two pick-6's, thus eliminating 14 or 15 Ticats points from the board. It is also likely that Marve would have been more successful in sustaining drives and thus keeping the Hamilton offence off the field. This might also have inspired the defence to play a little better...
 
It is improbable that Marve would won the game, but nonetheless, I'm quite confident that he'd have given us a better chance than Brohm.

Unless you let your thoroughbred out of the barn to run the race, you are never going to know if you could have won the Kentucky Derby.
 
That being said, in hindsight I'm ok with not playing Marve yesterday.  But I would strongly think about giving him first team reps this week, and then giving him a whole half against Montreal.  It's time to see what he can do, with actual prep, and plays drawn up for him.

I get that you're not a huge believer in Marve. I suppose that's fine but man....  There is not one thing about Brohm that is attractive. He is absolutely awful in every sense of the word.
 
Again, what's the harm in giving Marve some reps and see what he can do? At least the guy has shown an ability to move the sticks in each of his appearances.

Brohm will never win us a game.... He's bad all around and has not shown an ability to throw nor run the ball.

Who's saying Marve doesn't have things to work on? All people are suggesting is that he should be getting the nod over a player like Brohm who show's absolutely no ability to move the team (one td drive in all the opportunities he's had) if/when Willy gets injured or has trouble in a particular game.  

I hope this game puts an end to the ridiculous cut Robert Marve brigade that's been picking up steam.

There Is nothing wrong asking if anyone can get him a discount. This is a close knit community is it not?
I'm going with my 5 year old to his first game ever in the stadium this Friday (rain or shine) and was given free tickets to it. I didn't ask for them mind you, but I wouldn't have paid for them. I know he is most likely going to get bored and will want to go home early.
How does leaving the game early work if you have to take the park and ride? Normally for event with my kid I would drive to the event but that doesn't seem to be an option at the stadium

I can think of worse things. Like shaming someone for being poor, and calling them an embarrassment.

Haven't seen enough of him to say that I'd feel comfortable with him as the starter, but I'd feel much more comfortable with him than Brohm.

Marve has been a highly serviceable and effective QB so far, regardless of his style of play. Brohm has a longer way to go, plus he's older.

That's not true. Brohm has not been good at moving the sticks. He had one decent game last year in which he was no better than Marve at moving the sticks, but otherwise he's shown nothing.
