Kane also missed about 2 weeks of playing so far with his injury he had 5 minutes in to the first game of the season. He's had chances to score, he's a bit snake bitten and holding his stick to tight right now. The guy is a good player, has the potential to be very good. Do i think he will be a consistent 30 40 goal scorer? Probably not, but that doesn't mean he's not very good. Not really sure why these rumors always pop up, oh wait, i know, because people love to talk about it. Reality is, if you go to all the hockey boards where the self proclaimed experts reside, these rumors are just brushed off as just that.. rumors. Does Kane want out of Winnipeg? who really knows, nobody knows. Has he matured this season tho as a player both on and off the ice? in a very limited sample so far, it would appear he has. Does that mean TNSE told him if he wants to be traded, he needs to be a good boy? Doubt it, probably just means he's decided to grow up a bit. A while back, people told brandon to stop speculating about the bar fights or things like that, drug use etc, blah blah blah... whats the difference between what brandon was doing and what some are doing here? Speculating is wonderful but that's all it is. Fact really is, none of us have any clue if he wants out or not.

The D might have been terrible but the O regressed pretty significantly throughout the entire season. Just look at points scored really, or yards per game, the O wasn't very good. Reality all these ETCH articles and threads could probably be put in to one massive thread because we all know who wants him gone and for the most part, it's the same people who wanted him gone the minute he was hired. Even those who don't want him gone or i suppose, those who might not care one way or the other, it's all been said before Nothing really changes, different thread but same opinions were said in the 50000000 other "etch needs to go" threads. Personally, Etch probably should be let go, but IMO, the OC is the bigger problem.

I'm just gonna say this after watching Kane pretty closely the last few games. I think he's a good player, he's pretty much what you want in a hockey player, speed, skill, is responsible defensively also, But... i have noticed that he takes way too many shots, and dumb shots at that, like tonight vs Carolina, we had Carolina running around in their zone and he took a harmless little weak shot that Ward grabbed on hung on too, killed the momentum. He does do that at times, does seem to kill momentum, creates it tho also but kills it sometimes too with silly plays. I wonder how high his hockey sense is? I don't think it's that strong actually. I like Kane, i think he has some potential to be pretty damn good but he needs to stop taking stupid shots all the time and needs to learn how to use his linemates better, i mean c'mon bro you are playing with Scheif and Wheeler, that line is dominating, and they dominated tonight as did the Buff,Lowry,Perreault line (wow their offensive zone time is incredibly high) They are so snake bitten tho, once that line gets a goal or 2, look out really. But Kane, i dunno, as much as i dislike the idea of trading him, I'd be open to it if it means we got a few players that could help us in return. But i only trade him for an overpayment, some team will be desperate enough eventually. Wait till then if you want to move him.

In this day and age with Twitter and millions of bloggers pretending to have "inside sources" saying this that and the other thing, it is pretty easy to assume that KANE wants out, however, i agree with MIKE, his play and enthusiasm and i'm going to go ahead and add maturity this season says otherwise. I mean, the guy does give his all out there, he goes out of his way to pump up the crowd after a big fight, sticking up for team mates there too, He's been a good boy too, no money phone pics (like that matters) or anything silly like that. All i truly know, is that Kanes fiance, ex fiance actually, they broke up this off-season, weird eh, they break-up and all of a sudden Kane seemingly has a different attitude and seems to be maturing before our very eyes right now but all i know and this is true, Kanes ex hated it here, hated it, the other Jets wives and girlfriends couldn't even stand her, she was not well liked, she actually caused a lot of problems, kane took her on a road trip once to florida, think this is well known and took a lot of heat from the guys for doing that as most figured it was a business trip, not a vacation. They are no longer together tho and now kane seems to be more mature and even having a better time. I wonder how much of his 'wanting out' had to do with his ex fiance not liking it here. Well she's no longer in the picture..

Jets have a ton of depth in goal... It's actually their biggest strength really.. Let's just forget about Pavelec for a second, They got Hutch,Helle,Comrie,Kasdorf (really solid year at school), Budaj even. Goaltending is not really a need for them actually. Besides, I think I'd rather have Fucale over Tokarski but really we have no room or need for another "backup" goalie. Montreal? It would have to start with Gallagher, Jets aren't giving Kane away for free.. you need someone to replace Kane and Gallagher would probably best fit the fold, he might get killed in the West tho. Then you add from there since Nobody is forcing the Jets to move kane, Someone wants Kane? They have to overpay... Gallagher, a D prospect (Beuulieu,Tinordi or even Greg Pateryn) and a 1st on top of that even. Jets only trade Kane if they get a significant over payment Islanders? They don't have a 1st in 2015 so I don't think they are a likely trading partner, They have a ton of talent tho, I'm just not sure they are willing to move the guys it would take to get Kane.. Unless Kane has asked to be moved, i doubt it, i don't see him getting moved anytime soon, if at all. Every time POMO talks, he says kane is pretty much the prime example of what the Jets are all about, Speed,Size etc. Kane also looks to be having a good time out there, frustrated i'm sure because of the lack of scoring but he looks like he's having fun and trying his ass off to make a difference every shift. He's been with the team a few years now, How do we really know what he could bring, Can't keep recycling the same old names over and over and over, eventually gotta give someone new a chance to show what they can do. I'm not saying name Howell OC now but in a year or so, I wouldn't be shocked if he's a strong candidate.

I dunno why but i do get the feeling that Howell will eventually be our OC. Some may not like him but it seems like he has the respect of the players, is a former player himself, has done his time, perhaps a little too green right now but... in a year or so, i could see him being the OC. Orlando Steinhauer - surely his contract is up after this season, Him and O'shea are good friends, name his assistant coach/Defensive Coordinator but i'm not convinced he'd want to leave Hamilton 2. Baron Miles - SASK, was rumored to be a candidate last year but apparently didn't want to be a DC, was content with stay in SASK.. perhaps he is willing to move on 3. Dennis McPhee - DL Hamilton. Has been with the ticats for 12 seasons tho, so he has quite a bit of roots there, but what you are getting with him is the great unknown. Another name is a name that was rumored to be on the staff this year.. Cooper Harris, again the great unknown. Surely, there is someone from Calgary who could be a DC too but again, the great unknown. These are probably the only realistic candidates out there. And a few of them, mainly all of them,the great unknown and how realistic are they?

It's EKLUND so, there is no truth to any of this so it's not worth talking about. Give me a source other than Eklund and Then i'll talk about it but since it's here, just want it to be clear tho..this guy is known to blow smoke out of peoples asses all the time. Habs? NOBODY at all.. Isles? a lot but doubt they would be willing to move what it would take to get him. I'd imagine a first round pick would be needed and the Isles don't have one and the HABS pick probably wouldn't be enough. Habs? Yeah It's all about TV for sure, The shoot-out itself was probably intended to draw higher ratings, "it's exciting" and all that stuff.. I'd love to see the Tv Numbers of a game through 60 minutes and then see it for the shoot-out if it makes it that far, I wonder if it actually makes a difference ratings wise.

then go to a 4-4 10 minute OT and take away the loser point. So teams actually try to win it IN OT instead of playing for the shoot-out which lots of teams pretty obviously do. If it's tied after the 10 minutes, each team gets 1 point and you call it a day.
