I am glad someone else noticed this. I only watched the first two periods but dear lord it was bad. People claim Beyak is a homer but he's nowhere near as bad as those ding dongs were. They nit picked all the penalties , continually cried about Reimer being left out to dry and how he's a saviour, continued to talk about each mistake the Leafs made... it was nauseating. I was gonna mention this too, was brutal. From saying Chiarot is a call-up from the IceDogs to the whole Kane is our leading goal scorer thing to making excuses left right and center for the leafs, it was painful to listen too. Glenn Healy is awful and even the announcers during the game were terrible, It's a shock to me when Gary Galley seems like the only knowledgable guy there.
-
Ya. Clitty has been exposed like Pardy and Postma has been. It's buff and Chiarot right now carrying the load. Everyone else is not good. Harrison is probably 3rd best now.
-
Strombo is supposed to attract a new younger generation. I'm not sure it's working. What are the ratings like. That is the only number that matters. I have heard they aren't as strong as past seasons. Perhaps sportsnet has alienated some fans, from comments I'd guess they have. Not just from this forum but others as well. Seems lots of people don't care for the new hockey night in canada. Imo it's not just Strombo it's the entire setup they have. All the analysts suck. The announcers too. It's just bad and kind of amateur.

You are expecting too much too soon. That's the problem. Team is exceeding expectations. Without the top 4 d and kane now too. See what happens when everyone is back. It's very irrelevant what side they play. If your top 6 d are right handed you play them but jets top 6 aren't when they are healthy.

Galliardi looked good last night. He just needs a chance and he will be fine. Gonna admit I was wrong about buff. He is a very good d man. Beast mode right now. Toby Bogo Buff Chiarot Trouba Stuart Who cares what way they shoot. It's kind of irrelevant Oh and Jokinen wouldn't help. He is sucking. Darn near healthy scratched in Nashville. Not a good year for Joki. I'd rather galliardi or an ahl call up get a shot. Roy is done. So is Heatley.

Just saying but buffalo was saying all along that they wanted Reihnart and not Ekblad so even if Buffalo did get the 1st pick, they would have got they guy they took at 2. And Besides when you look at this years draft, you can't really go wrong with any of the top 3, If The Oilers win the lottery, hope they don't but if they do, i could see them trading that pick cuz how is another small forward going to help them? The Oilers if lucky will get the 3rd overall pick and get the guy they really need in Hanifin, Oiler fans can tell you whatever they want but their biggest issue is they lack D, people talk about Nurse but he's just a prospect, he may be a bust, Hanifin might be too but in the long run, for the Oilers and their needs, Hanifin might actually be the better choice.

The Islanders are just a better team than we are, especially without our TOP 4 D men. We could probably compete with them with our top 4 but when it's buff and 5 AHL calibre guys, not a chance. Isles dominated us from start to finish, and got all the breaks. Do have to say that the officiating in this one made me shake my head at times, Not sure if its reputation but it seems The Isles got away with some calls that the Jets wouldn't have. Refs obviously got to a few of the players too and the coaches for that matter, Buff being one who obviously lost it a bit later in the game, can't say i blame him, that was a pretty weak call on him to put the isles on the 5-3 PP. Pav played well, had no chance on 3 of the goals for sure, the 4th one, little weak to say the least but Nielsen probably should have been called for elbowing chiarots head earlier in the play at the isles blue line.

Ugly or Wonderful ... your gut hunch for 2015
Goalie replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Alright let's make a legit prediction based on nothing but a gut feeling at this time, I feel we will be better than last season, I think Walters does everything he can to bring in some quality oline (holmes i think is a guy they go after hard)(if he is still a free agent that is). I think the D will be better regardless of who the coordinator is, i think Willy having a full season as a starter behind him will get better, I think having a stable running game will make a difference, I see the team as of now making the playoffs, i see teams like SASK and even Edmonton falling off a bit, I don't know what to expect from BC, I expect Calgary to still be the team to beat, BC could go either way, If Lulay is healthy, they might be good, if not, it's going to be a long year for them. I see the bombers finishing anywhere from 2nd to 4th in the West, making the playoffs, and at this time, I'm going to say losing in the western final to Calgary, who will repeat as Grey Cup Champs. 11-7, 10-8 somewhere around there. Think we will see more parity this season in the division and the CFL as a whole. -
Hall most likely to be new DC (Now Official)

The poll results tell a different story. Not many Kreskins on the board. -
Ugly or Wonderful ... your gut hunch for 2015
Goalie replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
In all seriousness, I feel like i should wait until 2015 to actually make a prediction, I'll get back to this one once we 1. Get to 2015 2. Name a DC 3. Reach Free Agency 4. The Draft and 5. Training Camp. -
Ugly or Wonderful ... your gut hunch for 2015

we also lost several games by a touchdown or less too. This board man, you guys always look for the negatives in everything, it's crazy.. of those 11 losses, 5 or 6 were by a touchdown or less, instead of being 7-11 we could have been 12-5. -
And in a year when Buff is a UFA and decides he doesn't want to be here? what do you do then? Too many people thinking about now and not the future it seems. Bogo is part of that future, buff is not. and who said Buff stays on D when everyone is healthy? Chevy? Maurice? Nope.
-
Bogo,Trouba,Scheif,Kane,Lowry are the guys they are building around. Buff is not.
-
What an absolute disaster of a trade that would be. No chance this happens. Byfuglien is one of our top 2 D. ROR would be a 2nd/3rd line winger. Terrible trade-off. Not to mention O'Reilly has a $6M cap hit and will also be UFA after next season. Buff has a similar cap hit and will also be a UFA after next season too.
-
Can say what you will about Rider fans, but they are quite the knowledgeable bunch at times. Sure, there are one or 2 morons but their forum is pretty interesting to read at times.
-
ROR is easily a 2nd if not 1st line winger here Ladd,Little,Wheeler RoR,Scheif,Perreault Kane,Lowry,Frolik

It's not even January 1st. Bombers do have lots of time to make the right decision, I'd rather they interview every guy they can and then as a group make the right decision, don't care if it's hall, benevides, claybrooks, miles or some guy i haven't heard of. Sometimes, it seems people become a little too impatient around these parts. The reality is, they do have lots of time to make a decision and you can bet your butt, that they are talking about it everyday and possibly even going through the list as i type this and deciding which guy would be best for the job. It's not as simple as making a poll on a fan forum and going which guy do you want.. ok let's get him. There are other factors involved. Does that guy want to come here? There are no conspiracy theories going on here, there are no underhanded backroom dealings, not sure why some people think this. I personally am not friends with wade miller or kyle walters or mike o'shea but i'll tell you this much, they want to win more than all of us on here combined.
-
Calling it now, Buff for ROR from colorado once all the D are healthy again.

I'd rather trade Buff than Bogo that's for sure, Bogo is a young guy who was having a very solid season, it seems everyone loves the big flashy offensive d men but D is all about playing D and bogo was doing that well prior to his injury. It's not all about the stats and the goals and the points, it's about playing solid D and that's what we were doing b4 the top 4 all got hurt. When they are back Bogo,Toby Trouba,Stuart and no clue who the bottom 2 are Chiarot and someone more than likely altho chiarot has been exposed a bit these last few games too, clitsome and those guys looked good their first few games here too but chiarot in reality is probably at best a 5th or 6th d man in the long haul. Buff to forward is pretty obvious. Anyone talking about trading our young d to Edmonton for a forward needs to look at edmonton to see how that actually works. It doesn't. The reason the oilers aren't good, among many other reasons is because they have ignored their D and tried to create a team based on forwards, it doesn't work when you don't have guys who can't get those guys the puck... seeing it here now too with the injuries, part of the problem right now is breakout passes aren't on the tape, instead of chipping it off the boards, our d are icing it lots. That wasn't the case when our top 4 were healthy. I like buff but when he pinches and gets caught, he floats back, he doesn't back check well. He kind of gives up easily at times. The guy is a good player but looking at the future of the team, buff is the guy i'd look at trading over anyone else. Cuz he's the guy who might get the best return actually. Teams might actually overpay for Buff, and i'm not sure i see him fitting in here in the long term, are we stanley cup contenders? Probably not, are we on the upswing? it seems like we might be, when we get there, how old would a guy like buff be? Our team isn't being built around guys like Buff, it's being built around guys like scheif, trouba, bogo, kane even, lowry, the younger guys. Does buff fit in to that equation, when we are legit contenders, how old will a guy like buff be? when does a guy like buff start to lose the value he has? Probably sooner than some think.

Postma's brain fart was truly the turning point of the game, puck was high sticked, just had to wait for a wild player to touch it or for the ref to blow the whistle, postma plays the puck, negates the high stick, 3 seconds later, the puck was in the back of our net. That was when things started going downhill for the Jets. Hutch played really well again, tough when you are getting barely any help from your AHL calibre d men. Reality is, we got a lucky bounce in Minny to win the game and they got a lucky bounce off our guy here to win the game. Postma,Pardy,Clitsome,Harrison are good 6th and 7th d men probably, but they aren't very good when they are forced to play big minutes. and That's what all these guys are doing now. Buff still makes lots of dumb plays too, pinches at the wrong time, his pinch lead to the tying goal actually, don't get me wrong, he's an exciting player, very good player but he still makes dumb decisions at the worst possible time. Jets were winning prior to the xmas break because they were playing very good D, these last few games and even going back to the phily game, you can see that their D men have been exposed, not just one or 2 of them, but all of them. Buff might be a good offensively but the team was winning because they were playing good defensively. They seem to have gotten away from that a bit, not sure if a couple guys are trying to do to much or if the injuries have finally caught up to them but... they just look a little out of sync the last few games. Breakout passes not on the tape, lots more icing the puck, not using their speed and chipping it off the boards and chasing it, lots of issues right now.. can't just look at the stats, they don't tell you the whole story, gotta look at the D as a whole, they just haven't been very good and i think it's pretty obvious that once all top 4 d are healthy, buff goes back to forward.

Roy sucks so bad he cleared waivers. This isn't the same Roy from 5 years ago.

Jets started the season with a 1-4 record, they have only had 6 regulation losses in their last 31 games. The Jets and Calgary are not the same. Jets are actually 5th in the western conference, tied with st louis now for 3rd in the division, St Louis has a game in hand, but the Jets definitely look like they are for real and the biggest thing right now, they are doing it without their top 4 d. Jets have a nice cushion with the wild card spot too, several points in front of the teams who are actually behind them and fighting for that spot. 6 regulation losses in their last 31 games tells me this team is for real and i'm actually sort of surprised but not really cuz i know how the eastern based media works but... Jets are basically the hottest team in the league and have been for some time yet no respect. Barely talked about. It's odd actually.
-
Petan is going to be a star, has play maker written all over him, another 2 assists tonight, regardless of size.. morrissey with another point tonight and comrie with the shut-out.
-
Not their best effort vs a very boring very good defensive team in Minny after the xmas break. Pretty obvious the guys enjoyed their time away, definitely showed in the first and even second periods but definitely picked it up in the third and OT. 2 points? I'll take em for sure. Hutch with a below hutch standard performance but.. 2 goals he had absolutely zero chance on. Solid road win tho overall. Both teams looked pretty sluggish and it was obvious that both teams had some time off for sure.

Great win, huge win. What to do with the D when they all get healthy? It's pretty simple really.. Pardy isn't good, Chiarot is better so Pardy gets waived to St Johns, nobody will pick him up and if they do, big woop really. Clitsome isn't that great either, Chiarot is better, Clitsome either gets waived to St Johns or traded for a pick, like a 6th rounder for example... Harrison? Not sure, not enough of a sample size but i'd suspect he sticks on the third pairing, I know people have this weird love for Postma but the guy seriously plays only about 10 minutes a game, coaches must not be in love with his game as some of the fans are. Perhaps you package him in a deal or you put him upstairs, Buff goes back to forward because for as good as he has been playing on D, he is a liability on D, Don't get me wrong, love buff but man, you get some good and you get some bad and usually the bad ends up in the back of our net. Bogo,Toby. Trouba,Stuart Postma/Harrison,Chiarot Postma/Harrison upstairs. Clitsome,Pardy either waved or traded for that 6th round pick we traded to get Harrison. Buff goes to forward and halischuk goes to the 4th line and repalaces, i'd imagine peluso. Saw glimpses of it vs Philly and even against Chicago eventho we won but our D is very AHL right now, the guys playing right now aren't very good, Buff is the only legit D man we have right now and he's better at forward. The other 5, man... they aren't good. Breakouts haven't been as crisp, passes aren't on the tape, they aren't pinching as much as they did before because if they do, they get beat, giving up more off man rushes too. Our 2nd best, could argue he is our best all around d man, in terms of actually playing D but he is an AHL call-up. That says it all really, What do you do when they all get healthy? you play the 4 injured guys and put buff at forward, and replace 3 of the other d men, choose your own adventure as to who those d men are tho really. Really, your choices are anyone but Chiarot really.
